Hi your ORCA FIN WITH THE CLAMP MOUNT is an amazing product!!! My crestliner discovery 1450 with a 40 Mercury outboard had a serious problems with HIGH BOW RISE to where I couldn't see in front of me and the boat would not plane, even at full throttle. The ORCA FIN was added to my boat along with a 4 blade propeller and both problems are gone. There is virtually no bow rise and the boat planes almost immediately!!!! This video truly shows the effectiveness of the ORCA FIN. Thank you!

They seem simple very inexpensive to make . why are they so expensive to buy? Also are they sturdy enough if they where to hit bottom? I guess I should ask (is there sturdiness similar to a aluminum prop? Thanks

Do these replace or used in conjunction with smart trim tabs?

Hi Gerard, These products are designed for use with trim tabs. Trim tabs and whale tails (Dolphin and Orca Fins) do different things to affect the wander and turn of your boat due to the placement. The whale tail or hydrofoils are effective at speed, our Orca Fin addresses the wander as well as the trim aspect. Generally boats that are powered by an inboard/ outboard or outboard motor rely on the thrust to give the boat directional control which is fine at high power and speed; however at low speed you have very little control and the boat wanders. The Orca fin adds triple the rudder that actively adds control as long as there is water flowing over them. Even at zero thrust, when you are out of gear, you still have steering because of the rudders. The large FLUKE or flat area between the rudders acts like a powerful trim tab. Because it is farther back than trim tabs, it has more leverage or influence on the boat. You can easily control the trim with your tilt trim control.
