@Arexodius27 күн бұрын
@@mitchstein288 Agreed, but cars sort of already are subscription based. That's what leasing boils down to. Ownership has been getting more rare these days among private individuals. As far as electric cars go, I think we need to let the market dictate what the manufacturers do, not the government. The government pushing electric cars (California making it so you can't buy a new ICE by the year 2035 is a great example) is costing manufacturers Billions of dollars. Just look at GM. They went "All in" and quickly found out if they wish to remain profitable, they need to back up the truck. When the demand is there and the time is right, the market will show that. Right now, the infrastructure is not there. The TFL crew did a great job of showcasing that when road tripping EVs across the country and by the end it was hours and hours of extra time charging. Some company will innovate battery tech and change things in a huge way. It's not there yet. Why are EVs falling off? (Tesla is still doing OK) It's really pretty simple, there's not enough reason yet to deviate from ICE. Gas is relatively affordable, and there's not a substantial advantage.

The reason that Toyota is biggest car company in world right now is because they didn’t let the world bully them into something they knew wouldn’t be profitable and sustainable. They may eventually do EV’s but it will be on their terms and not someone else’s plus they were one of the Pioneers of the Hybrid and have doubled down on something they know very well. To pick up on the thread of conversation at the end of the video, twenty-five to fifty years from now, I think it will be challenging to collect any car from today due to how complex the electronic components have become (both the hardware and the software) and how quickly these components are currently changing. I don't think the issue will be is it gas or electric, I think it will be an issue of can we get working components. Maintaining a Ford Model A from 1930 or a Studebaker Lark from 1960 will be so much easier because of how simple they are in comparison.

The copy cat me too look by everyone copying everyone else is at the lowest point than it’s been in years. The new Hyundai Santa Fae is definitely different and you definitely notice it out in traffic. The cyber trucks are noticeably more prevalent out on the roads now. The new Cadillacs are now good premium looking cars again. Stellantice is in a world of hurt right now because of product management misfires. Nissan is coming back to life, but the Z sports car is way outshined by the corvette. There were some really good looking entry level cars in the mix. Buick is showing some signs of new life. Ford is kinda stuck on pause at the moment style and model wise. People doing stupid around teslas out on the road is still a thing. However tolerance for that behavior may be beginning to run short.

As for success of a brand, I think the two MOST vital points are: Appeal and quality. I think Stellantis is becoming a bit of a sinking ship is because of quality. The brand is rife with quality issues. That undermines consumer trust. Also, does the new Hornet really appeal to people? It may be too early to tell, but I think initially it's a flop and it's going to go the way of the Chrysler 200. Gone. People may have strong opinions on Mr. Musk, but he made/makes cars that appeal and totally broke the paradigm on electric cars. He single handedly made them cool. He made it out so that's the one people wanted in front of their house.

Its actually the opposite. Stellantis only sells 4xe wranglers in the 14 CARB states In the other 36 states you can only buy gas on lots. Stellantis is not happy they are being forced to do this and have sued CARB because CARB cut a deal with ford, gm, bmw and others that softens the regulations for them. That being said anyone can still go to a dealer and order any jeep they want. I own a deisel rubicon on 37s and I find the 4xe to be very innovative. Considering only new 4xes are sold on lots in 14 states and its still the best selling hybrid in America for like 3 years straight...thats impressive
