What’s the LOWEST Possible Score You Have To Earn To Beat Rayman 3?

I've been playing Rayman 3 for all of my life. But recently I decided to do something that would give me a totally fresh experience. I'm going to figure out what the lowest score is that you HAVE to earn to beat the game. Enjoy!

Every time you get hit, the recent red lum respawns. This allows you to get to the 1 score way more than you did. You can shave the score off by alot using this.

Though very tedious, you could in theory get only 1500 points in the Bog of Murk by constantly getting the red lums that respawned after each hit. That technique could be used in a lot of fights actually.

Btw you could have done it on Emulator ( instant saves, instant reloads, speed up the game for the teensies, frame rate tricks etc ... ) And i think you could skip the entire part at 18:12, why try to kill the Hoodlums on the boat if you can make the jump after that ?

You can, but it's unnecessary. Since you can drain your score in the Land of the Livid Dead Teensy Highway as well. The Tower of Leptys shoefight is skippable. But the one in the Longest Shortcut can be done to drain 9 extra points, I realized after making the video

Well yeah, but doing it with the shoe would take much less time, since you don't have to wait to die and revive every single time, you can just keep smashing yourself into the wall. And since you nullified your score with the shoes, you'd have to spend less time nullifying it in the Highway.

Maybe I will try to lower the score even more, one missed opportunity I have seen you not taking advantage of is lowering your score to 1 or 0 when in those shoe driving minigames. Thank you very much! And you are wrong actually, all the parts with shoe battles have a Teensy Highway or are Skippable (Tower of Leptys). Only I forgot is that once you pick up the first crown in the Longest shortcut, you can cut off 9 points at the shoe battle

Thanks mate, I'm also playing Rayman 3 blind while my cousin gives instructions. But we are not recording it unfortunatly. The most fun is that the camera is your worst nightmare and this is really quite hard. Bossfights are almost impossible. But we made it all the way to the Reflux fight already without ever seeing the game, so we just have to keep going

Man, I played Rayman 3 so much. But I never thought about doing a minimal points run. Getting all the smiling Murphy faces was enough for me. Too bad there's no angry Murphy face when you have very low points. But I think it would have been more interesting if you couldn't reduce your score by dying for hours. That's a little extreme, I think. Oh, and I didn't know oneshotting enemies gives you 130 points. Also, is it just me or do yellow gems have different hitboxes? 10:10 Wouldn't it be better to wait until the powerup runs out, then get the gem and retry? 20:02 Do you know when you get 30 points instead of 100? I can't think of any reason why that would be the case. 31:19 Damn, I never knew. 33:17 Your fist bounced off of the wall and made you collect gems? That's really unlucky. 34:51 Ha, nice. Is that common knowledge for speedrunners? 38:12 You can step on small enemies? I never thought of that. 44:55 Damn, the lava is ugly in that version. Anyway, this video must have been a lot of work. Doing the whole game in one video is certainly ambitious. See you in the corresponding video about Rayman 4!

Well, I also made a challenge run for a game (it's a comparison, not an ad), but I only did one chapter per video. When I was a kid, I think one of my save files broke, or got corrupted, or something. I thought it was because my score was too high. And for years after that, whenever I played the game, I tried to avoid collecting jewels. I don't remember what made me think this.

Actually, You can utilize the Shoe minigame to loose points also since charging into a wall results in a -1 point, And those take place in Land of livid dead, At the fountain section Longest shortcut Section 2 if I recall it correctly And Tower of leptys 1st section. This might have lowered the scores a bit

Well, actually yes and no. In the Land of the Livid Dead it's way more efficient to drain your score in the Teensy Highway. In the Tower of Leptys we skip the shoe fight and in the Longest Shortcut de can only do your strategy after collecting 1 crown. So yes, you can decrease the score bij 10

So any points you get up until the shoe kart essentially don't matter. You could even grab any unskippable points that are nearby first, and then go to the shoe kart, so you won't have them ruining your score afterwards.

Tbh score could be even lower since instead of losing health, you loose score by hitting the wall while being in raymans shoe. The same applies for obstacles in snowboard level

I noticed something, you couldve gotten tge teensie before bergoniax behind her house withoud grabbing the gems :D you couldve grabbed the teensie at the first level in clearleaf forest inside the tower where 2 hoodlums come to greet you when you encounter the first wooden gate (unless ofc they always give points, wich i never noticed before if it does), you can also grab the teensie in the groundbound log in the second level of the bog of murk (before the exit after the grapple part) if you hug the wall since it has coins, you can also safely grab the teensie on the left platform of the second level in the desert of the knaaren, this usualy unlocks the tornado power for the bonus gems on the oposite end of the room, but avoid said bottle and just continye :D having more hp makes doing this chalenge eazier, like if y grab a gem by accident thisll allow you to use damage taking as a way to funnel the yellow, red and green poison out of rayman i know ill notice much more, but im currently too tired (its 01:02 am in the night here xd....)

Yes, it's Possible. For a challenge like this it would help. But I frequently Speedrun this game and the minimum cages is 24. So kinda used to having low lives

i would have used some out of bounds skips or super foto mode buffered jumps to get around some of the points :) for example the boss fight is completly skippable at 13:00 and every door at the longest short cut can also be skiped with super jumps ^^

I'm currently playing Rayman 3 blind while my cousin gives instructions (just for fun, no recording). It's useless since there is a Teensy highway and those point were drained regardless. The only part I could have done better is to pick up the first crown displayed on the button in the Longest Shortcut and drain those 10 points with the shoe

I imagine using Superjumps would allow you to outright skip all point sources in several levels, but you could argue that would hinder the “authenticity” of the run. Rayman 3 speedruns already feel kinda hollow in that non-NMG categories skip like 90% of the game, so I’d get that.

I really want Rayman 2 & 3 rereleased on switch :( Very cool video really enjoyed it. But basically you could have skipped everything until the last highway and reduced your score there as far as possible, so all that really matters is the last part of the last highway and the levels after that and every strategy before that is just to reduce your time in the highways dying. That is really interesting ngl

Did you know there's an infinitely respawning enemy in the forest stage, near the waterfall? If you fall on the boxes below the map, it will cause an enemy to respawn. Can be used to crank up the score as high as you want.

@@obscurevideogameruns6250 I did that on ps2 version. In the waterfall area where you fight hoodlooms, kill them all then go out of bounds and land on the boxes floating beneath the map. Doing that will trigger a hoodlum to respawn. Then you have to use glitches to get yourself back up on the stage. I used a flying cheat because I didn't know how to perform the glitch, but I'm sure it's possible to do especially on the Gamecube version, where I heard the glitch to gain height is easier to do.
