Me too. Origins and Legends lack dialogue and story in my opinion. They are definitely amazing games, but not by Rayman standards, in my opinion. A dream Rayman game for me would be a 3d game with the overall theme of the first one.

In Ratchet and Clank Size Matters, if you look for the hidden treehouse, which you need to find a teleporter to get there, you'll discover that not only an unused enemy was cut from the game, but aswell as a tank enemy that you would need to avoid in a Crash Bandicoot style segment of sorts. It's actually fun to look at unused content rather than letting the developers explain it in person.

In the original Ratchet & Clank 2 & 3 you can find a teleporter pad that will take you to the “insomniac museum”. The museum has unused enemies, puzzles, level designs, weapons, vehicles and various other unused bits of material. The teleporter in the second game can be found on the planet Boldan and the one in 3 can be found in the trophy room on the Starship Phoenix.
@guardian81846 жыл бұрын
In the second game, each part of the museum also has voice pads which play commentary from the developers about why each thing was taken out or replaced, it’s really cool to see. They also included a version in the R&C 2016 reboot but it’s not the same unfortunately.

vcrbetamax The Rabbids aren’t canon to the Rayman franchise anymore. The developers of Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle stated this as one of the reasons why Rayman isn’t in it. Also, why would you expect to see Rayman in the show when, aside from an Easter event in Rayman Adventures, they’ve never crossed over again? Both franchises went their separate ways and had their own games. It’s not like Skylanders where (until the Reignited Trilogy of course), Spyro was still a character in Skylanders the whole way through. This would be like if in one of the Skylanders sequels, Spyro disappeared completely and got the Reignited Trilogy while Skylanders was still going on at the same time, but people still have a grudge on Skylanders as if nothing’s changed at all.

Actually, Rayman Origins give us a possible explanation as to why the continuity is so borked, Polokus (Yes, the Bubble Dreamer actually is Polokus) actually conceives the universe out of bubbles he places his thoughts into, and considering his powers can corrupt very easily (nightmares, separation from electoons, etc) it's likely each story in the Rayman Universe is him trying to recollect how the world works Well it's my theory anyways

@Dracomut9 жыл бұрын
Slimey Jenkins That is a good theory. I've always felt that Rayman's world is just so big and chaotic things always seem different when they have in fact been the same. Here is my take on the order the continuity and my own theories: Before the series - An unknown being creates the Gold lums, who then create Polokus and the electoons. Polokus creates the Glade of Dreams and all beings in it, other than Rayman. The Leptys is another god made by the Gold Lums, the world of the Knaaren is destroyed by Razorbeard and his pirates, who were also made by the Gold lums. The Knaaren migrate to the Glade of Dreams while the Leptys, too weak to leave what remains of his world, gives the Knaaren royal family a magic scepter to contact him if they ever need his help. Right before Rayman 1 - Rayman is created by Betilla and confronts Jano and his army of nightmares, Rayman brings peace to the Glade, the remaining nightmares are thrown into the Cave of Bad Dreams which is guarded by the now repentant Jano Rayman 1 - Mr. Dark steals the Great Protoon, the resulting cascade of disharmony shatters much of the world's stabilization making everyone look a lot like Rayman who himself is a magically unstable being. After the Great Protoon is returned everyone turns back to normal, Mr. Dark's current whereabouts are unknown Rayman 2 - Razorbeard invades the Glade and shatters the Heart of the World. Rayman wakes Polokus from his slumber with the 4 masks, after the defeat of the pirates Polokus chooses to stay awake to look after his creations, taking on the moniker Bubble Dreamer Rayman Arena - Rayman and friends participate in a tournament being held by the Bubble Dreamer. Razorbeard's army is too weak to invade again so signs up for the tournament (along with two servants and his wife) to win the prize money and rebuild his empire, he is able to sign in due to the Bubble Dreamer's easygoing personality (though also because the Bubble Dreamer knows Rayman will win). Tily is Ly's little sister and sneaks with Rayman to participate in the tournament, Dark Globox is in fact Globox's counterpart from another dimension recruited by Razorbeard Rayman Origins - Ales Mansay (taking up the moniker of the missing Mr. Dark) curses Voodoo Momma turning her into a monster and making the Land of the Livid Dead a terrible and chaotic place and makes the denizens into angry monsters, things get so bad the Land of the Livid Dead declares war on the rest of the Glade after Rayman and friends' napping bothers them. Ales takes advantage of the confusion to make his fortress and compete his plans Rayman Raving Rabbids (Wii Version) - the resulting battle in the Land of the Livid Dead releases the rabbids who attempt to take over the glade, they capture Rayman and Globox's kids. Rayman competes in the rabbid arena and escapes, but then realizes he forgot globox's kids and then sets off to save them... Only to get stuck in a rabbid hole Rayman Raving Rabbids (GBA version) - Rayman gets captured by the rabbids again, but this time escapes through sheer brute force and help from Ly, Rayman then proceeds to stop the rabbid's attempt at world domination. Defeated, the rabbids flee the Glade and take up residence in a very familiar world... Rayman 3 - Voodoo Momma has been able to make the Land of the Livid Dead peaceful again, which is why it is much more tranquil in this game. The first black lum, Andre, is born after Rayman's hands cause mischief. Andre is killed by Rayman's grimace power given to him by the Leptys Rayman: Hoodlum's Revenge - the remaining Hoodlums try to revive their master but ultimately fail and the hoodlum race is destroyed for good (hopefully) Rayman Legends - a cult of evil teensies who worship Mr. Dark like Ales did invade worlds that neighbor the Glade of Dreams, Bubble Dreamer makes paintings with his dreams so that Rayman and company can go to these worlds to save them. The demonic being at the end of Olympus Maximus is actually the dark soul of Andre coming out of Hell in an attempt to kill Rayman and his friends
@ES210079 жыл бұрын
***** My timeline is that Rayman 1 comes first actually. After that, Rayman meets Globox and spends several years being lazy before he accidentally causes the apocalypse in Origins. Because of this he's punished and sentenced to eternal slumber, but then is woken up 100 years later during Legends. Some time after that, Rayman meets Tily. He's still lazy, but Tily takes advantage of this by turning his training into fun competitions with his friends (Rayman Arena). Obviously, this fairy eventually grows up into Ly, and I like to think that Rayman her close friends call her Ly as a nickname as she grows up (MY HEADCANON!). Afterwards, Rayman 3 takes place (Ly isn't there... Because things, she was busy or something). Finally, during Rayman 2, Rayman gets a kick in the face because that's the closest he's ever come to failing, and that's when he mans up and starts taking his duties completely seriously.

John Leguizamo is pronounced how it is spelt: “Leh Gweh Zah Moe” Just thought I’d throw that out as he played in a couple of Nickelodeon movies and cartoons in the 2000s. I remember him quite fondly.

I remember this game. Was a lot of fun. The scariest part of the game for me was when you were introduced to those knaaren, which scared the crap out of me. That...awful...terrifying...scream they made. And you could not touch them at all. All you could do was RUN!

This game was my favorite game from my childhood, I remember I had a friend who had Rayman 2 for the N64 and we played the hell out of it, I got a Playstation 2 just to get a rayman game (I got rayman arena, which I still love, even though it might not be a great game, the fight and race mechanics were fun and versatile) then I got so hyped when I found out rayman 3 was coming out, I begged my parents so much and they gave it to me for my birthday, played it for years, no joke. I seriously couldnt wait for a new rayman, then raving rabbids came out, I didn't know it was just a minigame galore at the time, so I still got hyped and wanted a wii, didnt get it until like 7 years later, but raving rabbids didn't interest me anymore. Then origins came out... I mean, it's a good game don't get me wrong, and it's basically like Rayman 1, but it's painfully childish, sometimes the jokes are really funny and all but man, that's just not the rayman I grew up with, I still hope ubisoft reconsiders it and gives us Rayman 4 someday.

Oh man, I used to play the mini-game where you had to build the track and the other drives in a shoe. I did that a lot together with some friend of mine, those were the days.

I adore this game so damn much. There are few games I have played this much and had as much fun as with this game. The atmosphere on some of these levels are seriously enchanting. And those funky stage transitions? SO GOOD! This game overall has one of my all time favourite soundtracks for sure.

Games like this are why I still come back to my PS2 all the time. I find most of the games coming out nowadays are nowhere near as creative, playful and fantastical... Everyone’s obsessed with realism and open-world at the moment and I’m just not into it.

It was 2-3 years later before I had I told on ps2 but I do wish I had a GameCube at that time now that I think about it, I like the controller a lot more, Rayman 2 was PC as well, 4-6 years later I got revolution

0:26 funny how you say that, when I know of so, so many series where the third game is easily among the most beloved entries in their respective series. Super Mario Bros. 3, A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, Mother 3, Dragon Quest III, Castlevania III, Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne, Persona 3, Grand Theft Auto 3, Devil May Cry 3, Metal Gear Solid 3, Fire Emblem Mystery of the Emblem, Elder Scrolls Morrowind, and so one (technically Kid Icarus Uprising as well, but that's a special case). Some of these examples are especially noteworthy, considering franchises like Castlevania, Devil May Cry, and Dragon Quest's 2nd entries are far from the most beloved in their respective series, and even franchises like Super Mario, Zelda, Metroid and Persona, while their 2nd entries have a dedicated cult following, are notably distinct from their respective series' conventions in a number of ways (Metroid and Persona a bit less so, but I think the point still stands, with Metroid II's greater linearity and Persona 2's odd quirks like buying Personas with cards instead of traditional fusion that even P1 had)

Rayman 3 was the best Rayman game and you can't tell me otherwise. EDIT: Also, I think the beginning Murfy part was simply to establish your health bar and to determine how much health you'd start off with in the game. I'm also pretty sure that the game has captions.

You could make the argument that the first segment introduce you into the world like the title screen. If you look at it then it's beautiful with so many colors and lights shining into the night. Just look at the lake with the light shining onto the tree. The use of blue and red plus the small clouds, it all looks fantastic. Like you said in your recent Kya: Dark Lineage review you can see the land and places you have visited or will visit. This happens also in Rayman 3, you can see your destination in the far horizon or just out of sight and it really gives life to the world. My favorite is the under water robot boss when you can see him climbing from the cliff down into the water and walk off screen and later you face him. That is aweosme

Good to see a channel talking about this underrated series! I think Rayman 3 is weaker than 2, but still a pretty good game. If there is one thing I would've changed in this game is that it should've been possible to select the sub-levels within the levels so you don't have to replay the hour-long level just because you couldn't get a high enough score in part 5 of that level. But yes, really good gameplay, excellent atmosphere and soundtrack. I really hope they they make another 3D Rayman game someday.
@natbatlightwood52886 жыл бұрын
I didn't even realise that last scene in the game was actually a flashback, I thought it was meant to be a tease for the next game in the series...which never actually game. A bit like how despite teasing him twice now they haven't brought back Mr. Dark in any of the recent games. I really wish they would make a new 3D Rayman instalment, or maybe recreate this game or something, idk, I really just want that Rayman 4 we were promised.
@TheLudicrousLuv5 жыл бұрын
First of all:No,i dont think that thid was a flashback,it was a teaser for the next game on the gba Rayman:hoodlums revenge(This game isnt THAT good tho) and about rayman 4: Micheal Ancel confirmed that after beyond good or evil 2,we will begin developing rayman 4 I hope this was helpful

When I was a kid I went to my game store to buy some shitty Harry Potter Quidditch game I saw advertised somewhere and the guy at the counter said to me: `that game is a load of garbage, buy this one instead´. 4:17 I don't really get this argument. It would be the same if you asked: why you are not allowed to use your hands in the beginning? Well, because Globox stole them, of course. And the same goes for the Murphy part. You start with this gameplay because you're escaping from Andre, that's just the part of the story. It's what happens in the game and what the developers intended, how could you say they did something wrong, when it's literally how they imagined the story would go.

@kainecalderone99302 жыл бұрын
My biggest gripe with 3 is how uninteresting it is, what made me love 2 is how it expands Rayman's world with interesting levels and hubs, and I honestly love the edge of 2, it just works with the magical fantasy of the world, and since the series got turned into a slapstick comedy of some sort, while the world is not really developed. If a Rayman 4 was in the works I want them to explain more of the world to make it fresh, with Rayman 3's variety of combat mixed with 2's acrobatic platforming. Who knows maybe parkour rail grinding.
