While watching this video, when you were riding next to the median strip, I thought, "This reminds me of Las Vegas." Shortly after as you entered where your yurt was located, I thought,"This reminds me of Taos and Santa Fe." The kicker is that you yourself thought the water reminded you of a place of hippos. Must be a quantum overlap of many places.

Beware, on the Mainland Mexico both Aligators and mostly Crocodiles are possible below the 28 deg Latitude the farther south you go the farther inland the encounter may occur.
