14:11 I'm not a parent and never want to be one. But even I find this horrifying. What kind of mother would just leave their helpless infant, sitting outside the door of someone's home. Especially when they haven't confirmed they were home?? Why didn't she text them ahead of time seeing if she could bring he infant over. That poor baby was sitting out there all night, hungry, probably cold. What if it had stormed over night/that morning/when the grandparents showed up.

Child abandonment, child endangerment, child neglect, probably outright child abuse, there's a whole string of felonies and misdemeanors involved in this situation. That idiot knew her cousin would refuse if asked, and dumped her child. If the niece had died, she'd have faced murder charges, and this story would be on the Misery Machine instead. G-dawful parent. She needs both her child and her uterus removed tout de suite.

My mom loves telling the story of how opposite my older brother and I be, right down to our births. He was born a month early and 6lbs and apparently was a fairly quiet at birth. Me on the other hand, my mom said I didn't want to leave. I was 3 days late and nearly 10lbs, took her sawing on an apercot tree for me to decide to come out. By the time the doctor got in to deliver me he yelled, "oh crap! This one is about to be born on the floor!" Appearently, I was just shooting out of there because I was done being in the oven lol

Im a woman and love to cook. I've taught myself to cook a lot of recipes and find it to be a fun hobby. Still can't bake to save my life though, my dad has tried to teach me but I've failed each time. My Dad's side of the family (his maternal and paternal sides) were all immigrant baker families from Germany who fled during world war 2. However, i don't like when people think the kitchen is a woman's place. One memory i have of this, that I've experienced, is when my Dad signed me up for the hunter safety course. Every man in my dad's family hunts. However, my brother had no interest in it like I did. Well, at the safety course i happened to be the only girl in the group and a kid and his father were complaining that a girl has no place in the woods. I kid you not they were saying a girl "belongs pregnant in the kitchen" to a kid (I think I was 10 or 12), and his son was in the same age bracket as me and was also spouting the same bs like his father's little echo. And mind you, we live in Pennsylvania, a state with a proud female hunting community. Well, joke was on them. On the test I was the only 100% out of the training group. And the following year I shot my first deer. Sadly i just missed this season do to a surgery and recovery. But next year im going to be out there for sure.

I fired a dentist once. Quick thing here. I have Hella axienty when it comes to dental work. And a lot of things. Growing up and being shamed for every single issue I had. I'm not in any way a medical professional, but I know that shit ain't right when I see it. First glaring issue I see is that the hoses used to give patients the gas are dangling on a nasty ass floor that my shoes are sticking to. Not to mention they're stuffed with toilet paper.... FYI that's a big deal. Toilet paper is soft and breaks easily and can leave little bits of it in things (i.e. A hose that attaches to a parent's face when you give them the gas... That's bad) next I had mutuple nurses come in. Tap their apple watches and type away on a keyboard and go back out and work on a new patients or whatever not changing gloves. Did I mention that this was right in the middle of COVID? Not good. When I tried to be vague about where I worker (I worked tech support for that fruit based company) I was told "Ooo. So you can give us a discount on this stuff!" (no I couldn't because I'm on the consumer end of things and that be Business and education which is a whole different cage of Angry Oppossums) The final issues? I saw black mould in the sinks and the wall unit... I've worked for many a case of beer or some green herbal substance for friends to know black mould when I see it. The dentist who was supposedly top of his feild.... Looked about old enough to remember when Television was brand new. He denied the mould claiming it was just "tincture" and "it adds character to the sink" Did I mention that there was a used saline IV bag with a needle attached to it under a 10$ tarp that I could buy at Lowe's. Note I don't live in a place where medical care is substandard.... I live in Canada. In the largest city in Canada. OH and the final "Charmander nope.gif" "you might want to bring a change of clothes with you. Sometimes when we give the patients the anesthetic they vomit or mess themselfs" yeah that's what happens when you OD someone on anesthesia. Thanks to that whizzed old man. My axienty for seeing a dentist is at an all time High and I'm terrified to go to see ant dentist now

Seems there had to be big red flying flags BEFORE you got in the chair-I’ve never seen one of those issues at any dentist office- the problem might be your vision- with flags that red, I would not have even pretended to sit on anything in that horrible disgusting- shoes stuck to the floor? Hose on the floor? Mold in the sink? Tissue ..somewhere.. the warning to bring a change of clothes.. fuuuuuckkkk allll that shit!! You might not be the brightest- sorry to be the one to tell you!!!

5 y.o. me at the bad-attitude and very rough family dentist (in the 1960s), 1: "Huh! That hurts." 2: "Huh! You're hurting me." 3: bite hard (not vindictively, it just seemed the only option for it to stop), draw blood, dentist yells and starts a string of swearings, father rushes in from waiting-room, assesses situation, says to dentist "Stop mouthing, both of you are bleeding for no good reason and you're the one throwing a tantrum. I'm staying in. Have some decency, get a grip on yourself and get on with it, and be more careful." So, in doubt, just bite... 🤣🤣 Of course there was no Aids then. Nowadays got to take the other option, as per the following protocol: dentist in 2015, very serious emergency, i had at most 1/2h left before the infection'd reach the brain and that imbecile was gone in a power trip. So yes, grabbed his balls. Probably works with female dentists too. There really is no good reason to be terrified of dentists. Or anyone else for that matter. Life is no bed of roses, so get a grip - not necessarily just on yourself.

I still remember a story where a mom was asking AITA for being mad at her son for going to his dad’s place. For context, IIRC the mom kicked the son out at 15 while he was suffering from addiction because that’s what her parents did to her when she got pregnant while in high school. The son got his act together and had gotten married, but then lost his job during the pandemic. He asked to move back with the mom for two weeks while he got a new job set up. She said no, and then got mad when he went to his dad (they had gotten divorced while the son was a kid and was estranged) and the dad said yes. Not sure if the original story is up, but a copy of it is on r/AmITheDevil

Years ago, when I was pregnant with my last baby, I was obsessed with that TLC show A Baby Story. I was traumatized by the episode when they let the mother labor to give birth vaginally, but the head was too big. So they do a C-section, only to find out that the baby’s head was stuck! That poor woman had a nurse pushing the baby back towards her uterus _through her vagina_ while the doctor was holding the baby’s other end through the C-section cut. *shudders*

Ok, with all the dad and childbirth stories, I gotta share mine quick. When I was being born, my dad was also giving birth to a kidney stone at the same time so he sent in one of his brothers instead to be with my mom right as she was crowning. My first memory is looking up seeing the doctor, 2 nurses, and my uncle with a big black eye. When I was older, having never been told the story, asked about them about it, they confirmed the story in sock, awe and embarrasment.

I seriously don’t understand these “parents” who dump their kids off on other people’s doorsteps without even knocking on the door or ensuring that someone is actually home to care for the child. This should result in automatically having your children removed from your custody, and like forced sterilization.

my mom loves to sing and so we would always have the radio on and she would sing or shoulder dance to whatever was on. It's important to note that she never really paid attention to the LYRICS of the song on, especially when she was driving, and growing up she would glare daggers at us if we swore or anything of the like in her presence. One day we're heading home and a song she really likes comes on so she turns it up. I sit there, ACTUALLY listening, when I suddenly realize that the song is a rather "intimate" and quickly change the channel as a) I was 12(ish) and b) my little brother was in the back. She get's confused and a little miffed until I mumble to her about what the song is about. We were both beet red for the rest of the ride

Two things. 1. Growing up my Dad cooked every time he was home and able to (non traditional work hours) because HE was the better cook. Mom isn’t bad, she could follow a recipe and feed us just fine cause she was able to be home more but doesn’t love it like Dad. And now my boyfriend and I are repeating this pattern. No one can bake like my guy and men, carbs are the way to a woman’s heart. 2. Boyfriend isn’t really a pet person. He had one dog growing up who he loved and now doesn’t really want another of his own cause it will never be like what he used to have. But I have cats because I loved mine growing up and as soon as I moved out I wanted my own. Boyfriend will never love them like I do but likes them well enough (except when the one misbehaves cause my one furbaby is an asshole) and tolerates that he now lives with them. He would never consider putting them down without me there no matter what he heard cause if anything he knows that would hurt me and I’d spiral and hate him.

I didn’t grow up with alcoholic parents so I can’t relate to much, like the driving with no pants etc. But we always found it fun when my mom would order beer at a taverna when we were out as a family. Why? Because after half the glass she was all flushed, red cheeks etc and acting all giggly like a schoolgirl. After the other half of the glass she was drunk but she always managed to time it so it was time to go home to sleep anyway. My dad told stories sometimes though from his youth when he actually was a drunk hippie living in a tent at the beach. He stopped drinking after that one time when he got drunk and woke up 3 days later in a ditch somewhere, with no memory whatsoever of those days and had no idea where he was or how he got there.
