#14 - As a parent of a girl who has had her share of sleepovers, that's not that unusual. Mine had her sleepover phase when making slime was the craze. As long as it's noting intentionally destructive, it's not worth causing a scene over. I've cleaned up quite a bit of stuff the mornings after some sleepovers. You have to let them have some fun and make some memories. Don't make them look back on their childhood and their primary memory of sleepovers are their parents throwing a fit and embarrassing them in front of their friends.

I absolutely love this My mom raised me and my sister like this, as kids we made messes obviously and she’d walk in, look at us and say it’s just a spilled drink, or spilled food or toys, then she’d help us clean it up and would always tell us messes are meant to be cleaned up so don’t worry. And that’s why to this day me and my sister sit down with our kids and teach them to clean. I’ve always wondered where my oldest son got his love of vacuuming until I saw my mom making a game out of it. Not gonna lie though, sometimes I get lazy and let my 2 year old just get out all the toys and then I clean wen he’s in bed lol

Yes, they should be allowed to play, experiment and have fun, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't learn to clean up after themself. Last year of high school, school trip. Long story short, we had an awful hotel. It wasn't enough place for everyone, so me and two of my friends had to sleep in the corridor (it was advertised as a room, but it was not only no bathroom or so, but no door lock and no light switch, and other people went through it to their rooms, it only technically had a door). We had a bed for one person and one, basically, banch for three of us (I took the branch as I'm uncomfortable sleeping in the same bed with other people, especially if it's not enough place for two). It was so dirty that some girl had a panic attack in the middle of the night insisting that she was bitten by a tick. And it's not accounting for all regular stuff in a high school trip, with somebody getting blackouts drunk, somebody being caught on smoking something (I'm not sure if it was weed or our teacher just overreact regular cigarettes... He smoked and persistently failed to quit, so it could be either way), my friend's romantic issues and so on. Didn't sleep for three days. Still liked it.

I had a sleepover with my childhood best friend. I loved going to his house because 1. His family was a lot wealthier than mine, so he had all the cool things i wanted as a kid. 2. His parents let him do so many things that I wasn't allowed to do. For example, He had multiple game systems with hundreds of games for each one, my mom would never let me play an M rated game, but his parents let him play and watch whatever he wanted. My Mother was a pretty strict Chistian woman, we went to church every week, prayed over every meal, wasn't allowed to curse, and was not allowed to watch movies that contained witchcraft like Harry Potter, or Hocus Pocus. Since my friends' parents were atheist, they didn't have these rules and we were allowed to do pretty much whatever we wanted. During the sleepover he introduced me to the legendary game Conkurs Bad Fur Day, we played Halo till our fingers cramped, He also showed me Gremlin's for the first time. After a long day of video games, we got ready to eat dinner. His sister asked me to say to grace, which was really confusing for me because i knew that his family wasn't religious at all. Despite this I started to pray and thank God for the food, Thats when everyone looked at me weird and stopped me. "Didn't you just tell me to say grace?" I asked, "I meant say the world grace, I was going to tell a joke". Needless to say, Me praying over my atheist friend's dinner was probably one of the most awkward situations i've ever been in.

This happened right after I started 8th grade. A classmate had a birthday party and me and the other boys were invited to camp out for the night. Around 2 AM, we all decided to walk around the town and play Pokémon Go. We covered a lot of ground and eventually reached the high school. After we got there, we saw three teenagers a little older than us, dressed in hoodies, walking down the sidewalk. They stopped on a corner down the road from us and some guy on a bike pulled up and met them. None of us could hear what they were saying and they didn’t see us at first. However, one them pointed us out and the guy on the bike pulled out a pistol and shot at us twice. We scattered like rats and we all probably ran a full mile back to my classmate's house. We quickly deduced that it was probably a drug deal and the bike guy didn't like the sight of several middle schoolers with their phones out. We hoped that he just wanted to scare us off and wasn't trying to kill us. We all swore to never tell anyone since we'd all get in trouble for sneaking out that late, I think we learned why we shouldn't the hard way.

Not naming names, but once, I had a sleepover with both of my friends. All 3 of us are boys. Then, I went to go brush my teeth before we went to bed, and when I came back, the lights were off in the bedroom. I turned them on, so I could arrange my blanket and pillow on the bed. now...i have had quite a few sleep overs in my time, and even now as an adult i still invite my buddies over for parties and fun regularly (drinking included). this incident occurred while i was 16. had about 8 friends over. we started a huge burn pile full of old fencing boards, pallets and brush. once it died down some, we threw a couple wide and long planks on it from the pile that had yet to be burned. this results in us deciding its a good bridge to walk across...it went well the first dozen times or so. some almost slip and falls and a few singed arms as the flames were still a good 2 feet high...THEN...it happened...a pal of mine slips...falls ass first into the fire and rolls out...completely unburnt, but missing all hair on his arms and some of his beard he had grown at the time. there is another part to this story involving another friend that was there that night as well. but ill hold that one till later

I was at a sleepover where we were sleeping in tents in one of the guys garden. We were ~10 guys and ~14 years old so naturally once night fell and it was pitch black, we sat around the campfire and went onto omegle, with the mission to find a girlfriend for one of us. Obviously we saw a lot of dongs but other than that it was pretty interesting, especially seeing people's reactions to the campfire and all of us sitting around it. We're German but we were on the American server for most of the night because there were more people there. An unsettling amount of Americans said stuff like "heil hitler" when we told them we're from Germany. We did end up getting two girls' snapchats but it never went anywhere unsurprisingly.

I have a best friend who I've known for quite a while, a long time ago he asked me if I could go to a sleepover on his birthday. I said yes because of A. I had nothing to do anyway and B. he's my friend. I felt a bit off considering it's his birthday but whatever. He has 2 older brothers and a dog. I never saw the oldest brother much but I didn't mind. I have a massive fear of dogs as to what happened when I was 2-4. I don't know whose cereal the dog pisses in but they treat the dog like actual shit. He'd be punished by getting put in his cage, rattling it with a stick or something, picking the cage up with the dog in it, and just spinning in circles around over and over again. The oldest brother would stomp very loudly to scare the dog. He was caged outside and the nights were not very warm. The worst part is the parents didn't even care at all, they just let them do whatever they wanted. It pissed me off so much that the dog was being treated so poorly. Honestly, at that time I wouldn't even be shocked if they barely fed the dog.

During a sleep over at my friend's house, he had one other person over so we asked his dad if we went outside to hide if he would come out and find us. And he said he would. So we run outside as it's nearly midnight. Where probably 13 or so. We run behind the arch steel building they had in the corner of there property. I was was suppose to be watching the north side of it and they watched the south and we did that. I started to listen to the noises everywhere and out of that all, I hear almost like knife on metal. So I tell them to listen and asked what it sounded like. They agreed with me. So all 3 of us said "f*ck this sh*t" and sprinted towards the house full speed. I was in second. I look over where the noise had been coming from and I see a Black figure sprinting at us. (It was a full moon but it still was dark enough to not be able to make out details, just Black figure). I yelled at the first person and he looked right at it and kept sprinting. We get to the door and I turn around to see the 3rd friend about 30yds behind us, so we started yelling at him. We got in locked the door and there his dad was, sitting on the couch, no one else was home. We tell him what happened and we talked for a few minutes. The 1st friend also saw it but not the 3rd friend. His dad grabs a flash light and his gun. We go back out and nothing. We talking for a really long time on what each of us saw. We think of that moment every time we go outside now. We had 3 other incounters with it we believe.

Alright, so I have a story about a sleepover. (Warning, this WILL be weird and you WILL not believe this happened.) So my girl best friend invited me to a sleepover, of just me and her. Most of the time in the day, we played hide and seek and video games. Hell, even her parents played with us! And then came night time, I fell asleep really quickly. I was the first one to fall asleep, and my friend was reading a book. I slept on an inflatable mattress just like any sleepover i had with this girl. And then at like 1 AM, i woke up (i wake up late at night sometimes). I opened my eyes and couldn't belive what I saw at first. She was on the mattress I was sleeping on, hugging me. And I still can't get over that moment, to this day.

I have a sleepover story, and I have a controlling parents trying to humiliate me story. First, the sleepover, then controlling parents. I was at my friend's house for a sleepover, I think this was two years ago, so I would have been 12. We were chilling playing mariokart upstairs, and apparently we were too loud and excited. So my friend's mom (who is a very nice person to this day), at 10 pm, gave us each three scoops of ice cream to stfu so his little sister could sleep. We went to bed around 12, woke up at 4:15 (am, obviously), and the morning was uneventful. My body was so f'ed up that when I got home at 10 am, I slept for 5 hours straight. Now, the controlling parents. This story is pretty fresh, so here goes. My sister is a girl scout, and so by definition that means cookies. Thin mints, tagalongs, trefoils, everything. My mom is the troop leader, so she gets all the shipments of cookie crates. I just love those damn cookies, so I took three boxes in total of thin mints to eat for myself. 12 days later I am caught. I pay the amount I took, no big deal. Buuuuuuuut my mom is very very very very x100 strict and never lets go of things easily. We are also underway with a remodel of our first house, and so one day when I am working my ass off in what's left of what once was our backyard, I hear my mom spilling the beans of something she PROMISED to keep a secret about to everyone, including our architect, whom I had literally met that day. So yeah I heard her, beckoned her over to me in the most I-wanna-murder-you-but-there-are-other-people-here kind of way, and then practically scream whisper to her why she did that. She said oops, my bad. Get back to work. So yeah. Fun, fun, fun. TLDR: Was at friends house, was too loud, friends mom gave us ice cream to shut up, my body had a sleep cycle issue. TLDR #2: Mom publicly breaks a promise and embarrass me about a very fair and relatable incident.
