Yeah, New England is comprised of these states: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Don't know how they got that New York and Maryland is part of that. Then again, people often forget that Kansas is a midwest state, so maybe that's the same? They just assume those states are part of New England because they're around the same area.

Yeah. North Carolina isn't even that far from Maryland. From here to my aunt's house in NC is about 4 hours. Rather than North v. South, I'd call us the Mid-Atlantic.
