Hi Jen!! Your videos have been life saving for my A Level, especially your Othello series. I was wondering if you're thinking of ever covering the Metaphysical poets or A Streetcar Named Desire any time soon? If not, no worries :)

Thanks for the lovely feedback - glad the videos have been helpful. I am planning on doing some Streetcar content this year, but that will probably come later as I'm trying to prioritise some top grade sample essay walkthrough content leading up to the May GCSE and A-Levels. Are there any general literature-related skill-based videos you'd like to see from me? Let me know so I can work on those and more people can benefit. Thanks!

I still remember the phrase at chapter 3 after Nick expresses a very detailed and precise judgment about Jordan, and then generalizes it to whole women : "Dishonesty in a woman is a thing you never blame deeply" :)

I wasn't sure if Nick was a perfectionist when it came to women and this precluded him letting himself care too much for Jordan. On the other hand, I'm a romantic at heart and each time I re-read the book, I'm hoping that this time, Nick and Jordan will end up together, each accepting the other's vulnerabilities. Maybe they will in my next reading.

Right, perfectionism may be part of it, but I wonder if cynicism isn't also part of the mix (from having observed so much of Daisy's relationship with Tom and Gatsby, which doesn't give one much reason for romantic optimism, lol)...
