If you want a real Nissan buy one from the 90's K11 Micra, skylines, Pulsar GtiR, 200 zx/Silvia 300 Zx/Fairlady or even the current Nissan GtiR which is made in Japan. 🇯🇵🗾😎😁

I think the Juke is very much indicative of the times we are living in: Ugliness is lauded, being aggressive is a must, and elegance is an obsolete concept. This is why this car is so popular. My neighbor loves hers and is on a 3rd one by now. To me, it's simply an aberration. Not to be outdone, Toyota decided to come out with the CH-R, another beauty.

I have watched and enjoyed all your reviews and agreed so keep up thee good work, but I have to disagree with a lot of this review. Having owned a Juke while living in Canada which was an AWD version with 186 HP I can say that it was absolutely brilliant in snow conditions, the three position select-able switch for Front wheel only, On Demand and all time AWD facility was excellent, also in dry weather the 186 HP engine was no slouch either. I do think you are correct about the front styling but the side and rear views I think are not bad at all, there are a lot worse looking vehicles out there, it would appear that with over one million sales the styling seems to appeal to a lot of people, I think that maybe people are missing the point, the styling was meant to be something fresh and different? We did find it to be a practical, totally reliable vehicle Also perhaps we should give Nissan some credit for designing something a little different to the numerous bland vehicles out there ??

Think you might have this in stock for a while after this review ! Sometimes cars that have radical styling are popular because so many cars are boringly similar, suvs are generally big ugly things hard to distinguish one from another and after the original mk 1, I'm convinced the Golf design team just have a meeting to decide what enlargement setting to put on the photocopier when they want a new model. Well the styling and the size of the juke are it's major selling points - the juke basically started the super compact crossover segment, and most other manufacturers after that tried to make their own juke (and I believe none had the same success) - lifted super compact crossover with untrivial looks - C3 aircross, 2008, ecosport, captur, kona, stonic, mokka, 500x etc.

I think that 1.5 DCi gets a bad rap because it’s usually in the sorts of cars that get run by people who have no clue how to look after a turbo diesel. They’ll be run on fuel with twigs in it, miss already extended service intervals (set by manufacturers trying to appeal to fleet purchasers) and use them to do short runs. Hey presto, blown turbos, knackered fuel pumps and blocked DPFs! I had one in a Clio, did silly miles in it but serviced it every 6 months (9k ish) and used premium fuel when my apprentice wages would stretch to it. Last MOT recorded 190,000 miles! I got one as a courtesy car while my car was being serviced, and it was so boring. It was a bottom of the range model, so no toys to play with in the cabin. The engine was a 1.4 petrol, and you could pull away in 3rd, then it would take 5th gear from about 20mph - it was about as close to an automatic as a manual car could get. It took forever to reach 70mph and really didn't want to go any faster, except once when travelling downhill with a following wind. It was surprisingly big on the outside without translating that to the cabin. If it was a Micra on stilts it would probably be an okay car, but it's a Micra in a fat suit on stilts, and someone in Nissan's design team should have 'lost' the blueprints before they got anywhere near engineering. Maybe they did, so the engineers had the platform ready and tried their hand at designing the coachwork to put on it...

Well we bought a 14 plate 1.5 Desiel Teckna with lowish miles for £7500. Good value. Leather. Sat nav. Reversing & 360 camera. DAB radio. Folding mirrors. 4 electric windows. The styling has grown on me and I really like it. Slightly harsh ride is my only gripe. So many small cars have windup windows in the back or are gutless when you want to get going. The Juke we bought has plenty of go. I borrowed it when my car was having work done. It was stable and quiet on the motorway. I didn't even realise I was doing 110mph. The boot is small but we don't need it it be huge. There is little room in the back but its plenty for our 7yr old. The lights up top are brilliant because you can see them from the driver's seat so you know where the foremost edge of the car is. The handles on the back are a bit high but most parents open the door for young children to get in anyway. It's not bland like almost all the cars you mention that are better. The side profile is wonderfully funky. I'm sorry but the Ford B & C Max along with the Eco Sport are the worst looking car on sale. I've had a new Ford and when it got to 80000 mile it had problem after problem. Never again will I buy Ford. Our daughter's school has a private road leading up to it which is flooded half the year. Not a problem in the Juke. Nissan must be doing something right because it's a sales success. Different people have different priorities. For my wife it's the perfect car. I wouldnt have one myself because (I know this is sexist) it's a girls car. But it's a very good girls car.

I'm a guy, a straight one at that, and I'm getting one next week! I agree with most of what you said though, the high driver seat and the ground clearance and because it's a Nissan got me into it, I don't drive for passengers and drive 99% alone anyway, so the rear seats will be folded for my stuff to provide more space. If not this, Qashqai/Dualis was what I was so into, last week, until I realized I wanted a compact CUV and Nissan perfectly has one!

I was given a 2019 nissan juke visia as my first car (super duper low spec). I passed quite late, just before turning 23. Don't get me wrong, I am very grateful to be given any car, and its a decently expensive car (I don't know why). I passed literally about 3 months ago. This Juke is my first car, and what a first fucking car it is. I am not a car guy or a skilled driver, but I will tell you mate that clutch is awful, the biting point is not easy in that car (it seems like its too high, idk if im delusional. Its resulted in me rolling back a few times from steep hills.), and its a 2019 model with no safety features, no hill assist, no reverse camera, no parking sensors, and im in London and frankly dont want such a large car that doesn't offer any of the benefits you get from large cars (as you specified), I find the handbrake not too reliable too and usually sometimes need a few clicks before its set (could be a problem just with mine). It is ugly isn't it. Smh, idk why I was given a mums/nans car.

I love my Juke. Think it looks great, drives great, and is super economical (diesel). As an artist I can fit all my materials for classes, markets etc so definitely roomy. Also my teenage kids love this car. Best car I've driven in a long time!

Each to their own, this is just my opinion. Good thing we're all different otherwise the world would be a boring place :)
@joydivider42 Жыл бұрын
I totally agree! It's the one car that gets a distasteful reaction from me. I usually think each to their own but it offends me in a way that you explain so well. The looks alone are enough to walk away.

You’ve got so much to say about Jukes, I think you secretly like them a bit😂 seriously though my wife’s got a petrol one and although the stereo decides not to work a lot I don’t find It too bad to drive and it will take four adults and luggage no problems

Matt I’ll tell you the reason why people love crossovers so much it’s long but it’s worth reading. So basically People think that hatchbacks and mpvs are for geeky nerds so they buy an suv because they “look cooler” and look less like a “soccer moms car”. So everyone buys a crossover thinking they’re different and cool but remember all trends fade away like how everybody used to like Ford mondeos then that trend faded. So soon people will get bored of jukes and buy a new trendy car from the future

So are you recommending it then... you were sitting a bit on the fence with this one. 😂👍🏽

Although not my favourite car I like when car makers are bold enough to try a new direction. I think the car looks funky and fresh and lays an interesting design template for future iterations. Hardly anyone liked the Porsche Panamera of Cayenne when they first came out but with each new version the cars were progressively tweaked until now, for me, the Panamera is now a stunning looking vehicle. And I can already see that happening with the Juke. The latest version has kept the recognisable shape but tweaked the design in certain key areas, and it now looks much more aggressive and purposeful, a bit like a jacked-up 370z.
@HighPeakAutos4 жыл бұрын
If it’s any consolation I think the Panamera is foul looking too

@@HighPeakAutos lol. I like that you speak your mind. When social distancing allows we should hook up for a collab. One thing we might agree on is the Skoda Superb. Every since I watched your review I've been looking for and reading about them. I've not regularly done reviews on my channel for 8 while, for one reason or another, but would love to do a review comparing the Superb against similarly sized sub £5k luxury cars like: E class, a6, lexus gs 450h and maybe a Jaguar xf. Thinking I would review them all and maybe buy and run the winner for a while. Anyway thanks for responding to my comment. Keep up the great reviews.

I like the looks from the outside and the diesels are strong, everything else is just not good enough. It's like none of their buyers read beyond the brochure or how it looked on the forecourt.

Have a feeling that if I played this a little slower and closed my eyes...I would possibly mistake you for JC. That was your most scathing and funny dissection of a car for ages. Its almost a scandal to sell it. JC would probably crowd surf the funds to be able to watch it be dropped from an airship into car supermarket and it would be a well deserved end to an absolute POS.

The fact that Matt isn't trying to be anything other than himself is what makes him different. His vocabulary and acerbic wit is what conjures JC byt with modern references and a more down to earth approach. Keep it up Matt

The last company car I had was one of these - supplied new in 2015 - handed back when I left nearly 3 years later in which I did 85k reliable miles. Air, Nav, C/L, Bluetooth, E/w etc - was a decent car. A 1.2 petrol Turbo it was fast enough and good enough on fuel, good for over 100mph ..errrrr...I was told lol, mine was the later model with the split boot floor so enough capacity too. However - I never ever came to terms with the looks - fortunately from the driving seat you aren't forced to look at the outside, but it did look like it had been designed by a committee. " We want the big wheels" - " Ok as long as we can have the dinner plate head lamps" - "you can only have them if we can have the daft lights on top of the wings". The rear accommodation was ok but access was poor. To conclude I wasn't offended - it did a job - I have had one but one was enough.

The fact that you own most of these cars and there aren't any strings attached from the manufacturer means that you can really point out a car's flaws. That, coupled with the experience with reliability for makes/models etc, makes for very informative content. The humor and style adds to that, so I see this channel going up like Space X 😬.
