So sad, that the young kids get addicted to cell phones at such a young age. Later in life, they will have no social skills( important to have, to get a career and a good job!). My stepson is nearly 22 years of age, and when he is not at college ( 2nd year nursing student), he spends all his time on the cp. Sometimes all night!! Of course being a boy and my wife's only child. He does absolutely no chores or help her in any way!! Grrrr!

Merry Christmas to you & your family, Lot. I'm glad that Hannah is there to celebrate the holidays with you. Has she thought of where she will study college/ university? She could study in Cebu city or Dumaguete (Siliman Uni), or in Surigao or Butuan. If she studies at a nearer place, she could go home once a month instead of once a semester. (travel by ferry if in another island or by bus if in Mindanao island) Btw if she studies in a state college or university, tuition fee is free (legacy of former Pres. Duterte). You'll only have to pay for her living expenses. Have a safe & happy holidays!

Cooking using firewood is cheaper since firewood is free. A gas tank (LPG) in that island costs around 2x as in Luzon (if my memory serves me right) because of transport costs. Prior to the arrival of Lot & Brian, the ppl there have cooked with firewood. I think Lot also cooks w/ the gas stove at times when she wants to do things faster. As for city vs rural life, it depends on what you're used to.

@ What does cost of propane on the island have to do with Lot and Brian. He has 133k followers on KZbin. I don’t think money for living expenses a worry for them. I can’t remember if he retired from corrections but I’m thinking he has a pension. I thought this province life was just something they decided to do as a lifestyle. And it does look like a wholesome and mostly enjoyable lifestyle for a younger retired expat.

​@@arnoldjohnson3317 Perhaps you're right. AFAIK he has a pension from his time as a corrections officer and they have KZbin income too. I think one of the reasons for the transfer to Siargao is that Lot was tired of Angeles city. She was also pickpocketed or robbed (?) so they were concerned abt safety too. I also think they're saving up to buy land and/or build their own house (Lot mentioned that she wants to have their own house) so if they can save from their daily/ monthly expenses, why not? To buy land + build a house is a big expense (prolly more than 1M pesos), if you want a house made of concrete & built to western standards. That house & land where they're staying now belonged to grandma so in theory, it should be divided to all of grandma's children (Lot's mom & siblings). Division of family land can be a messy affair. I can see why they're not pouring all their money on that family house, since it won't be theirs in the end. Plus yeah, island living may appeal to Brian (for the meantime). Cheers & happy holidays.

Entire Philippines is a cesspool period every island every city every province nothing but trash everywhere. Filipino people don’t care about the country. If they did they wouldn’t be throwing trash everywhere. Plus the entire government is corrupt to the core . I know I lived there . Best decision we made is to move to Thailand.
