Putting my sims in the pool and removing the ladder, listening to them screech in sim-lish as they slowly but surely sink deeper and deeper into the abyss. That is the only correct way to play sims.

I'd love a "Comparing every Sims 2 game"! There were so many unique ports (Sims 2 DS being more widely known as the creepy one, but imo Sims 2 PSP had an even more disturbing atmosphere) and "stand-alone sequels" on consoles and handhelds (Sims 2 Pets, Castaway, etc)

Besides being an agent of order or chaos whenever I feel like it, I also play _The Sims_ to plan out how to place furniture in my home. In fact, that was the original purpose of the game: as an interior design and architectural tool. The Sims were there to evaluate how well you built the house and laid the furniture out.

I remember a lot of stuff I did in Sims 2: -guy who lived in a tent -discovering that you can clone your Sims with the move_objects cheat, -having a family start with just 10,000$ and without full-time work _-putting a Sim on a moutain that couldn't be reached -creating a Fallout Vault that the Sims couldn't leave in short, loads of fun

So much nostalgia of me and my sisters sharing the family PC and playing this game. My first sims family that I ever created were me, my mates, Dracula as a guardian (no idea why) and a nerdy guy I named “Poindexter” who had go out and earn money while the rest of my sims just goofed around all day. I also used to do my own version of “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here” where my sims would have to live outside and the one that got “eliminated from the jungle” would be trapped inside a doorless hut and would be burnt alive. Good times.

I still listen to the "Build" solo piano music from The Sims, very "Lyle Mays" inspired to my ear. So many great memories of this game as a child, first playing it at school in Primary School (Junior), then we got it at home.

Sims 3, Moonlight Hollow. Would place a lot in the middle of the river, make a rock with a castle on top. Put a charismatic sorcerer in the castle who hates children. Adopt 5 children. At one point I had the magic spell book DLC and summoned a random surfy dude to the house. He bugged out and never left. One day caught them autonomously flirting. Had no idea they could do that. Married him, encouraged all the kids to take up sorcery. 10/10 Hijinks. Would recommend.

Finding the most optimal way of playing the Sims 1 really just showed how flawed the lack of days off was. As the best way to actually get to play the game without having your sims work all the time was to make a gigantic amount of wooden garden gnomes. As at the highest handiness level it has a higher earning rate than even the best jobs. But then you would still have the large issue of the needs going down way too fast to do much of anything in Sims 1

This brought back a lot of memories, for my part I would always try to play in a way that my characters would become super successful in their careers, only to fail and get quite angry, which resulted in me killing them all to start from 0, but it always ended up happening the same, so you could say that those poor characters were trapped in some kind of eternal time loop with me.😅 Something similar happened to me when playing the Black&White games, I guess I'm just not cut out for that kind of gameplay.

I like the concept and enjoyed the episode. It was a recognizable nostalgia tour and an eye opener at the same time. Seeing how other people play the same game you played as a kid for hours and hours. I do think it works best for games that are older, like before streaming. We’re already flooded with content containing different playing styles for modern games.

I remember a silly experiment I did, I wanted my sims to live outside, no house at all, just all the furniture and stuff on the grass. At some point the guy has to use the toilet, feels the need for privacy and asks the others to go away... Ok, let's compromise, I'll just enclose the toilet in a 2x1 room with a door, there's your privacy. A few moments later the neighbors arrive to greet my family, but totally ignore them and go straight to the toilet's door to ring the doorbell. I wasn't expecting that, but probably these were the things that made the game even funnier.

The sims 1 and old maxis in general is something that really brings back good memories to me without fail. Since we were very young, me and my brother used to mostly play around with cheats and make either really fancy or stupid stuff (fueled also by the absolute abundance of mods that the sims 1 had, as simple as they were), like a family i made that was a robot and a woman with a skull for a head named miss nezbitt (yes, in reference to that one bit from toy story 1). It wasn't until 2 that we started playing it more seriously, and it was fun, but in any family that had babies/toddlers it was kind of annoying how quick they grew up because unless you disabled aging you would barely have any time for them to interact with other people in that stage. I personally haven't touched the franchise in ages, but my brother still plays 3 from time to time, doing like "challenge runs". The only one I remember was a guy who started with absolutely nothing and had to get his life together solely with gifts and stuff he could scavenge, and hell, in the end that guy managed to score a pretty nice house, other than the bizarrely varied decoration.

Pro tip, after putting rosebud;!;! (And so on) In the command line, put a invalid letter in there like v It will execute the rosebud commands, but then show an error you can confirm and the command line with your rosebud is still open. So you can just spam the return key (or keep it pressed) to execute the commands, acknowledge the error, execute again and so on

I honestly tried to have my Sims get a well-paid job, but the promotion conditions were always ridiculous. Sure, I could have them spend hours upon hours lifting weights, reading books, shredding on the guitar, etc. And then, the game was like "Oh, right, one more thing. Do you have 12 friends?" Making AND keeping one friend was a challenge, let alone twelve!

The obvious suggestion for the next video in this series, should you decide to continue would be Pokemon. Whether you play it casually and just surfing everything to death with your overleveled Blastoise, playing challenges runs like Nuzlockes or actually playing the game competitively, if there was ever a game designed with this "what is the right way to play this game" philosophy in mind, its pokemon imo

Good video series idea. Yeah Sims I did the skills, easel for money, odd jobs, some cheats, some building, some tiers of items. Ah sandboxes. Ratchet I level up the weapons to max like the Devs intended not repeating weapons. Gean Turismo I go for 100% but nowadays do challenge runs with particular restrictions as I know the games inside and out now. Later entries are so 1 note but older entries restrictions make it fun. I don't have the randomiser or other mods like many KZbinrs do but even the base game allows for possibilities like this of restrictions if you know what your doing. But I also 100% Ratchet and Scaler many times, than do base armour/ability runs. So no upgrades of armour for Ratchet is the highest difficulty, only the 1st invisibility upgrade as you can't progress otherwise but no other upgrades of attacks, health, bombs or more in Scaler. It's interesting how much damage enemies do, using Camo sometimes, the jump strikes, 1 bomb is annoying then the many upgrades lessening that back track to change the 1 up. Minecraft I put my tools and chests a certain way to store and use items. Go for quality of life/tech mods. I am very resource careful with the sticks/wood/coal fuel timers too.

I didn't play the first Sims, but rather Bustin' Out (played one hour of The Urbz too, but I don't count that as played), Sims 2 (Pets and Castaway too) and Sims 3. I played in loads of different styles: traditionally, with cheats, torturing the Sims; making me, making well-known characters, making new characters, etcetera. But one thing I got from all those times playing: without real objectives, The Sims gets kinda boring. That's why I prefer more Bustin' Out, Sims 2 and Castaway, which have at least some semblance of progression than to play another life 'till it either dies eventually or you get bored, being the latter more frequent.

The manion house though was for one pre-gen family (don't know the name) so i played and played until they had this house, renovated it and made several parties there. In my head they were the snobs (except for the Girl they got she was kinda cool)

My first thought for another game for this series was GTA because my brother and I played them so differently and they had some notorious cheat codes as well, then I saw you display it as a potential title. My older brother would 100% complete everything in them from GTA3 onwards through the ps3 games. Getting all the way through the story and doing all of the side missions. Collecting every unique item and even creating a website at the time cataloging every vehicle in San Andreas. I, on the other hand, would use the cheats to get money and guns and wreak as much havoc as possible in all of the ps2 and ps3 games. When they introduced the rag-doll physics in GTA4, I did nothing but find muscle cars and run people down. I'd drive up the hill on either side of that small archway with pedestrians in the middle of a roundabout. Laughed our asses off at the rag-doll break dance that would happen on the hood.

Ah yes the original Sims. My sisters and I played the crap out of this game and we fell into the three classic categories: My older sister would do everything legit, no cheating whatsoever. Even if a Sim died she’d refuse to just reload a previous save file. My younger sister would have the cheats on but would use them mostly as a safety net most of the time. Me I just went for full anarchy and just did the absolute DUMBEST things possible! It drove my older sister insane because I “wasn’t doing it right”! Best example of me doing dumb crap on the game: I made a family of a father, mother and son. I bought them a blank plot of land but got bored building a house so I gave up partway through, only giving them a living room, kitchen and one bedroom for the parents, no bathroom and I would make the child sleep on the couch. One day when the child had gone to school and the dad to work I had the mum meeting the neighbours and I just let her wet herself in front of them, then waited for the child to come home and made the child clean it up. I also trapped the pizza man in an inescapable room. There were a ton of other things too but this comment would go on forever if I posted them all! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
