Great presentation. I finally took delivery of my 8" Quattro and EQ6-R Pro and coma corrector, but of course my SLR T-ring is back ordered. So close!! But that's Ok, plenty to do getting used to the setup doing visual, which has been an absolute thrill since this is my first go-to mount and first scope with decent aperture. This mount/scope combo just seems to check the right boxes in terms of capability/affordability/portability. Looking forward to lots of time under the stars now that the temps are consistently above freezing.

How well will the focuser handle weight? Qhy600 + filter wheel + coma corrector
@kyzercube2 жыл бұрын
Just bought the 200p Quattro and I am very impressed! My old Newtonian is a Meade R8 and it's in HORRIBLE condition and it's 9 years old. The R8 focal barrel was literally falling apart. I couldn't level it to save my life, and the mirror had to be replaced ( committed the greatest amateur astronomy sin, dropped a screwdriver onto it ), and the GSO mirror I got was absolute garbage. Focal length was too long which required barrel extensions amplifying the focal barrel issues I already had, and I got skimped out on the edge of the mirror. It was like a 190mm and not a 200-203mm mirror. I was dealing with so much BS from my old telescope that I not only put out the money for the 200p but even paid for a 3 year damage warranty and after unboxing, I am so very glad I committed! It just looks and works beautifully! No buyer's remorse finally lol!

What is the mounting thing between the Evoguide and the Quattro on the picture at 33:00??? I'm looking for something like that. I only got the dovetail version of the Evoguide, and can't buy the guidescope shoe adapter anywhere...

Why use your proprietary coating rather than enhanced aluminum? Is it worth the hit in reflectivity? Is there anything on the reflectivity vs wavelength? And what is the overall quality of the optics? Great video on selling f4 newt imagers, but I wish you gave me more reason to get one of yours.

would you throw an 8" on an eq6-r?

Great video :) I have recently purchased the 8’’ in Quattro and love it!! Only one thing that bugs my OCD for perfect stars … do you have suggestions or solution to getting rid of the strange diffraction spikes that are present between the normal diffraction spikes?

Have you collimated your telescope? OR Are you using a coma corrector?

is this good for visual ???
@SkyWatcherUSA Жыл бұрын
The Quattros can be used visually but we would recommend a coma corrector for best performance such as the Paracorr 2 from TeleVue or something similar.

hello, I have a question about the Quattro 250/1000 : did you stop making it in carbon ? If you still do it, where in Europe (Spain would be great) I could find information and price ? Many thanks. Clear skies.
@SkyWatcherUSA3 ай бұрын
The best place to check for you local international dealer is here: www.skywatcher.com/where-to-buy/. They'll be able to tell you what's available in what region and for how much.

@@SkyWatcherUSA hi, there is no one in Spain. I got in touch with the French shop and told me you do not make it anymore. Is it correct or not ?
@SkyWatcherUSA3 ай бұрын
@@yvangarcia3535 That is correct. The carbon fiber version was discontinued around six years ago. The cost to benefit ratio did not justify keeping them.

Hi, after watching carefully the video, let me ask you for an advise. I want to make astrometry, take pictures of asteroides and send the data to the MPC. I am not sure if the Quattro 200/800 would be suitable, what is your opinion ? May be another type of scope would work better. Thank you for your suggestions. Clear skies.

You do not have to get spikes on newts you just use maksutov newts. Btw does skywatcher mn 190/1000 have the same focus?

Too bad on discontinuing the carbon fiber models. They were perhaps the most innovative and sexy looking scopes around.

Skywatcher is great price to performance ration gear, but I wish they would work on the fit and finish more on their products, I have a casting defect/protruding burr so sharp on my EQ6-R Pro right under where you plug the power cable in that will cut your finger if your not careful 🤕 Anyway I enjoy these KZbin vids. Question, who actually makes these mirrors, is it the same factory that makes Orion’s Newtonian mirrors? Thanks 👍
