It took 11 years for the Vatican to approve Fatima. Medjugorje 40 year anniversary is very interesting. Yes Medjugorje is still a private revelation like most Marian apparitions. But go yourself and if you comment without being there it just shows ignorance. I have been to a few European shrines in Europe and North America Medjugorje does produce good spiritual fruit as it is for those who are vacationing near the Adriatic Sea. Mary's appearing to Her spiritual children is very clever as most Shrines are near Vacation HOLY days which in Europe were Feast Days Holidays. Mexico Our Lady of Guadalupe near Puerto Vallarta. France Marian shrines in the south of France Lourdes and Our Lady of Salette.

From Ireland.As a young widow ,with 3 young children. I was privileged to go on pilgrimage to Medg in 1984. I loved the place, got great strength. Later on my children went there in their teens. They came home determined to work with God's grace. My 14 yr old Grandson was brought June 2019. He prays his own Rosary . Yesterday I went into his room, on his bed he had a leaflet on hell. A youth catechism, a Bible. Book on Medjurg. and book a book for young people, on the theology of the body. I am telling you all this in order that you take heart. Kids need to be properly and thoroughly catecized with authentic Church teachings. Probably the Council of Trent or the old Baltimore Catechism. There are so many dangers these days.

However, like most converts, it's only part of what led me to the Church. My conversion was not determined by a single factor, but is as complex as the human story, itself. If the Vatican doesn't authenticate Medjugorje, I won't leave the Church, just like I'm not leaving because of the sex scandals. Why? Well, I'm not Catholic because I believe in apparitions. I'm not Catholic because of a priest or bishop. I'm Catholic because it is only here that I worship the fullness of Christ in the fullness of the Christian faith! I follow God, not priests, not bishops, and CERTAINLY not apparitions! Have more faith in your fellow Catholics, brother. Not everything must be viewed with such pessimism.

I went to Medjugorje in 1984 and it changed my life. There was some holy experience there for me and I felt something there spiritually. You have to be there to feel it. I wish I could go back. My mom went to confession for the first time in so many years there in the town. May parents are from Veliki Prolog, and so it is close by. ZBOGOM!

I was raised in a loving secular/atheist family. I experienced a complete conversion to belief in the Trinity at the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham in England at 17. At 19 I was baptised, confirmed and had my first holy communion in Medjugorje on the Feast of St James (the Parish feast day). I have been a devout Catholic since 1988, married to my cradle Catholic husband 25 yrs and with 3 Catholic young adult/teen children. All praise to God. I realized later that my whole conversion happened within the Marian Year which was extended. People at Medjugorje were also especially praying for the conversion of young people, so me and my family are the fruits of those prayers.

Medjugorie is a trick of the devil and frankly some of the messages are down right stupid and would never come from the Queen of Heaven. This is a way to take the attention away from the message of Fatima and the command to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The Pope must obey the Lord's mother and our Lord Jesus expects that and there will be NO peace until the Pope, I believe Benedict Vl, completes this act with the obedience of the bishops and those who refuse are automatically to be stripped of their bishopric. I went to Medjugorje in 1989. It is a very holy place and I experienced many miracles. My sister had been away from the Church for 40 years and went with me. I have wondered why Our Lady of Akita is not a place where many go to pray. The nun lives there still and witnessed Our Lady's message. She received a message warning that Fatima had not been fulfilled. The documentary I listened to stated the bishop had first approved it and then recanted. I'm very grateful I see the Sun spin in USA too💜 I'm from Boston Mass I can feel it happening it's very Supernatural and the Holy Eucharist will appear and be in front of the Sun and it's a white wafer huge that appears in front of the Sun💜 this is a sign and a wonder that many people see. I got to go to Medjugorge in 1989. My rosary beads's metal turned a golden color during the Divine Mercy prayer sung in St. James Church. We saw Fr Jozo who had been arrested and tortured by Communists(portrayed in movie "Gospa" by Martin Shean. I prayed the Rosary more frequently after this (aided by a Rosary group I joined)

I went there twice and felt the place is Holy and I have had miraculous experiences like seeing the dancing of the sun. Although I went alone, I felt the presence of the Virgin Mother and I felt very much close to Heaven. I still want to go to Medugorje, if I have the resources to do so. 9 years ago I left the Catholic Church because I didn't understand the Faith. Like venerable Fulton SHEEN Said: "If you do not worship God, you worship something, and nine times out of ten it will be yourself. You have a duty to worship God, not because He will be imperfect and unhappy if you do not, but because you will be imperfect and unhappy." In my Case I looked into other Religions and Meditation which nearly Costed my Life. If it wasn't for my bapitsm, my Catholic ancestors and our Dear Lady I would be lost. I have never been to Medjugorje but I expierienced a miracle of our Lady of Medjugorje and the Power of her intercession. My grandmother - GOD Bless her - Went to Medjugorje to pray for our Family. At that time I haven't Seen my Family for 7 years because I tought I need to Go my own way and Like I wrote I left the Catholic Church and Experiment with other Religions. Out of nowhere I was touched by a Message of our Dear Lady of Medjugorje with the 5 Stones. 1. Dear children you will find all answers to your questions in the Holy Scripture. Read the Holy Bible daily. 2. Dear children pray the Holy Rosary daily because in Rosary is strenght and in the CROSS is salvation. 3. Dear children you forgot that with fasting and prayers you can prevent wars and catastrophies. 4. Dear children Go to Holy Mass at least Once a week because my son JESUS is present there. 5. Dear children Go to confession at least Once a month for there is No men without sin. When I read this Message I was touched and started crying because I have never read something more Loving, simple and full with motherly Care then those Messages. I realized that I Sinned before GOD and was far away and needed Help. Some hours later I Took Up the Bible which I Stored in the cellar for years and read JOHN 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth* and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. At that Moment I was extentialy touched by the Word of GOD. I understood that I was wrong Looking into other Religions because JESUS is the ONLY way to GOD the FATHER. Later that evening a unbearable darkness came over me as I could feel the heaviness of my commited sins and I could bearly breath. Then the LORD s words came into my Mind. E. Michael Jones wrote a book and made a video about Medjugorie which I read and watched in the 1990's. It was one of the few places where anyone could read the authentic letter from then Cardinal Ratzinger, head of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith under Pope Saint John Paul II stating that there was "nothing Supernatural" about the apparition. My personal opinion after 4 visits there in the 1980's and 1990's was/is that apparitions were/are occurring but that they are not from a heavenly source although I do believe that the visionaries think they are heavenly and that they have had poor spiritual direction over the years. People can be converted or reverted to the Church anywhere and even if false or demonic apparitions are happening. I know a devout Catholic who was converted after going to an apparition in New York which was condemned by then Cardinal O'Connor. The convert now attributes his conversion to praying the rosary and believes that both the NY and the Medj. apparitions are demonic.

The Church has already disapproved the alleged apparitions at Medjugorje, by the local bishop there at the time the claims for the apparitions were first made. Until the Church makes some other ruling, that bishop's ruling is still in effect.

You can pray from the heart and it will be the same effectiveness as anywhere.God does not prefer certain place to execute or release his power. If you remember , Jesus ALWAYS prefer to pray ALONE.He sent the multitude away and he spent time with God ALONE. Sometimes, being ALONE is better than with the multitude and I personally prefer it that way, because there is No distraction/less chaos and concentration/focus can only be experience when you're ALONE with God. During Jesus time, you will notice that he often did Godly-related matter with less people.... He often prays alone , after sending the multitude away and he did it in the mountain. He suggested that if we are going to pray, that we should do it inside a locked door, Alone with our heavenly Father. He also took less Disciples when performing miraculous works and we can see it when... He only took Peter, John and James inside the room of Jairus house when he raised his daughter from the dead. He only took Peter, John and James and not all the disciples, to show his Luminous/resplendent and Godly nature during his Transfiguration. He only took Peter, John and James during his last moment in the Garden of Gethsemane, prior to his arrest.He walked few feet away from the three disciples and he prayed alone. If you can not make it to the designated prayer sites, do not worry. Pray ALONE in your room and say it from the heart. God looks at your heart and not how many people are praying with you.

So! In general.... the commission has doubts about the entire thing. And yet people continue to go against the Church and promote this as though it's fully approved. Maybe one day it will be... But until then... NO LAY PERSON OR PRIEST can make that call. Let the Church do its job and be patient. But none the less... many will call themselves faithful to God while disobeying His Church. Figure that one out! I believe in apparitions... but submit to the Church's authority. We have plenty of approved ones to turn to. My suggestion to all is to use great caution when dealing with ANY still waiting to be approved messages/apparitions. And stay away from unapproved/condemned ones. For your sake and the sake of those you share things with... wait for the Church to make a final call.

"Multi-million dollar businesses"? You're insane. It's true that some locals have sold their land to foreign businesses for $1m or so, but high land prices are common at all marian sanctuaries. The visionaries support themselves and their families by taking in pilgrims, which many locals do. It is their only source of income, apart from souvenir shops.

@@trnslash Saw an interview of his, in which he repeated his claims. Enough said. He was in Bosnia 2 minutes, speaks to 1 or 2 people in the "opposition", and thinks he knows everything. But for every Bishop Zanic he spoke to, there would be hundreds of locals/witnesses that would have contradicted his story. All he (EMJ) was doing was to repeat the communist authorities misinformation. You know, a "bad tree" cannot produce good fruit. There have been countless conversions at Medjugorje, healings both spiritual and physical (documented not just by the Parish, but by independent medical authorities), a return to prayer etc, as well as the supernatural signs in the sky, which many thousands, if not millions, have witnessed. The visionaries have twice submitted to medical and psychological examination by international medical professionals. The results have also been documented, and have been published. Maybe EMJ had good intentions, initially, but his researching and investigating "abilities" leave a great deal to be desired. He needs to do a refresher course.

I pray that God, Jesus, Mary and Joseph will help the world get through this pandemic.
