Ryen Russillo

Күн бұрын

Russillo starts the show by breaking down the 76ers' start to the season, and keys in on Paul George (0:50). Then, he’s joined by Chris Mannix to learn more about De’Aaron Fox’s trade market, discuss Jimmy Butler’s value, explore the possibility of Cam Johnson to OKC, and list their NBA title contenders (12:40). Finally, Life Advice with Kyle (1:12:18)! Do I tell my friends my wife is getting fake breasts?

As a Grizz fan, there’s at least 10 teams in the league outside of Memphis that I LOVE watching. Online there’s negativity around the game and ratings, but fuck all tat noise. There’s studs everywhere. Detroit, Houston, OKC, Portland, Knicks, Denver, Dallas, Charlotte, Boston, and Cleveland are must watch. NBA has never been better.

That Denver series last year from MN was the single best moment in the last 20 YEARS of Minnesota basketball. We unarguably do not make that without Rudy. @@danreynolds2628 you think extending Butler until he's 40 at $50-60 million per year to NOT win a championship looks smart? I do not. Mannix is a distillation of the kind of national media coverage that has let espns grip on analysis of sports slip (yes I know that’s not his employer). He quotes a bunch of west teams that would be trouble for the wolves cause of perimeter play on a team with naw, Jaden, ant, dd and Clark. I’m sorry but that’s idiotic. I’d give ryen a pass cause sometimes you invite on bozos but then he half rehashes the Rudy deal with no context while saying the might need a reset. There’s so much stupidity in that it’s not worth rebutting. The Celtics are probably not winning the NBA championship this year. They got away with their style last year because the Knicks took out Philadelphia, and they lost all of their players against the Pacers. The Celtics jack up so many threes without a real system, so they won't get past Cleveland or the Knicks. Top 5 championship contenders in no particular order: (barring injury) Oklahoma City Thunder, New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Memphis Grizzlies, and the Boston Celtics.
@t4d0W
@t4d0W 2 күн бұрын
I mean the Celtics jacking up 3s and having variance go their way has been part of their plan in recent playoff years. Plus lineup wise they are sound defensively so teams can't match up hunt them. Cavs are a wonderful regular season team with absolute postseason flaws when they have to play the same team for 5+ games because their hobbit ass back court ain't it.

Butler has no leverage. On the court, he gives them nothing. Off the court, he gives them nothing. Anything they get for him is a bonus based off the fact that he gives them nothing. Because he makes himself "untradeable", the best teams steer clear of him. And he has teams he "won't" go to. If he stays, he takes the $50 million and sits. That will be his legacy. Like I said, no leverage.
@danreynolds2628
@danreynolds2628 6 күн бұрын
@ I guess I misunderstand leverage, which I thought meant “exercising control over the outcome of a situation”. While Pat has final control on accepting a trade offer and with whom, Jimmy has already played Pat by lowering his trade value to widen the market and depriving the Heat of his potential skills this season (e.g., recent 35 point game?). As to other teams not wanting him, 2/3rds of the teams in the league are irrelevant. I can foresee owner/front offices taking a risk on Jimmy for this year and next. Particularly since such a risk could be traded away this summer if Jimmy’s play and fit doesn’t warrant an extension. We’ve already established Jimmy’s falling market value, potentially even to the point of being worth a rental in exchange for a non-rotation player. That’s nit the trade Pat wants but he also doesn’t want that option exercised.
@danreynolds2628
@danreynolds2628 6 күн бұрын
@@MrOctober44 He can’t just let Jimmy walk. Jimmy has a $52 million player option for next year. Pat could swallow the option and suspend/sit Jimmy for the season, in which case he’s richer and a free agent the following summer
@PGO_Gaming
@PGO_Gaming 6 күн бұрын
@ That following summer he would be going on 37 years old, and not having played in almost a year and a half. He has no leverage. Miami controls the situation.
