Any scene that involved Squidward's house past his bedroom, bathroom, and entrance/living room always gave off a claustrophobic and unsettling vibe because of the dark, textured walls, abstract paintings, and lack of windows.

I keep getting the feeling that the vacuums are symbols for the pressure the show execs put on the writers (even literally calling a vacuum “The Pressure”) which would explain why it makes them all go crazy. Execs turn the pressure on and the writers lose it with stress and anxiety. Makes a lot of sense to me.

This “theory” and skin “theory” aren’t theories, it’s just taking some random object or idea and pointing out every appearance of it. I could make 5 new meaningless theories right now, paper theory, pencil theory, house theory, size theory, Boulder theory, do these mean anything? No, they don’t, but if you went through the hundreds of episodes of Spongebob you could find dozens of appearances of those things and make a stupid compilation video like this about it

@@loiloiloi6 noone claimed this was a theory tho, this guy in the comments compared this video to "skin theory" and then you went on some tangent about how it isn't a theory when this video never claims to be one. The title suggests that the poster will elaborate on the appearance of vacuums in SpongeBob, and I would say that was achieved. If this is truly mindless drivel as you suggest, you should make one so you can cash in on 100,000+ viewers and their ad revenue. but you wont, because sifting through hours upon hours of spongebob to find these specific instances takes time and effort.

I forgot about how mind blowing and creepy some of these episodes could get around the season 6-8 era. I am an oddball because I really enjoy theses episodes. The vibe they give off, just how unsettling it is, but at the same time just really hilarious, like the pressure scene with Patrick, or earlier when SpongeBob and Squidward were calling each other. It almost feels like the writers were putting there own mental illnesses on screen. I just like how different it is.

The first three seasons were a comedy... But season 6-8 are almost existential horror, to me they feel like a deconstruction of the SpongeBob formula by taking the characteristic of the first three seasons and exaggerating them to the point where it's almost like a completely different show... I admire the fact that they got away with this amount of surrealism (and horror) on one of the most recongizible shows of all times... But to be honest I'm just not a fan...

I was thinking that maybe the writers for the vacuum cleaner episodes have a phobia of vacuum cleaners and that it rubbed off onto the script, but idk. RBX had another good theory that vacuum cleaners may act as drains to the ocean, so the characters often go insane around them as sort of a primal fight-or-flight response. (that immediately reminded me of that episode where some of the characters found a drain in the middle of nowhere and ended up emptying the whole ocean. that episode scared me a lot as a kid for some reason...)

I really appreciate that you have an open mind about the new episodes. So many people just mindlessly adopt the "NEW EPISODE BAD" mentality without even watching them to see if they actually are. I wouldn't even think to interact with the subjects of any video, I just watch them and move on. Ikr? I was waiting for the theory and conclusion from these scenes. What's the theory? That vacuum cleaners in spongebob have some sort of weird use/curse that makes the characters go insane? Do they have a phobia or some kind of thing going on with vacuums? I mean clearly out of everything else, those 3 writers just love vacuums to play a role in their episodes and in the creepiest way possible, so i'm going with my first short theory, but I could be wrong as well.

The vacuum being called „the pressure“ and every character going mental when there is one in an episode might be the writers containing their stress anxiety and mental shit into these episodes. writing shows is a way of expression and it could be that they found no other way but to subliminally put psychological shit in the show. As a young adult now some scenes disturb me more than when i was young watching them
