Thanks for another most interesting video. Thanks Chet for your filming and narratives. This was most interesting seeing what happened to your farmstead with this wind storm. Lots of damage again/wow. Really hard to look at the second time around. Wow and more wow. Looks better with all of you pitching in and picking it up or moving stuff to the piles of damaged goods. Am sure the grandparents like that tree out of the yard. Good job guys. That electric chainsaw works really good. Good buy Chet. The farm yard does not look too bad after this clean up. Do realize you have bigger pieces to get help on, but like you said, everybody is busy now. The old dump truck was a super thing to have to haul stuff away. Good use of it Chet. About it I guess. You all hang in there. You all take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything Larsons. The Iowa farm boy.

My worry would be the structural integrity of those buildings. How much has the wind compromised the strength of them. May God bless the Larson family and all American Farmers.
@chaddevine5652 жыл бұрын
I understand what you're saying and you have a good point but I would think that being in the part of country they are and as thorough as they are as a farm with how they do things I'm sure the buildings are rated for x amount or type of storm and are made to give a little without breaking any damage that is substantial and that would compromise I think would be visible basically I think the newer buildings are built to wear if they're still up there good if you don't see any visible cracks and steal or anything like that I think you should be good as far as the doors go there's not any way around that in my opinion very good, though

Went through a storm like this in 1980, lost our dairy barn. We were without power for 41/2 days and you do everything to try and stay positive. As long as there is no loss of life you can recover, l am sure you can attest to that. God’s blessings to everyone in your area.

Are you near Eau Claire Wisconsin? We lost power for 2 weeks in that July 15, 1980 storm. The Eau Claire airport recorded a wind speed of 112 mph before the building that the anemometer was attached to blew away.

Sorry to see and hear of the weather conditions in Minnesota and across America giving honest hard workers a rough time. We understand in Australia how weather can really play havoc with livelihood, moral and deadlines. Atm we are experiencing a mild winter so nothing like the drama's your way. If anything the small snow field's that we do have around the Snowy Mountains are actually covered in snow which is good for those who ski. Thanks for the great video's I look forward to each one, truly one of the best show's on you tube.

Chet' Back in the mid 70's we had a wet spring and it stayed wet into early summer and we wound up planting soybeans a few day after the 4th of July they made around 35 bushels a acre. That's not great but better than nothing. You still have a little time left if the rain stops but it looks really wet so a 1/2 to 1 inch of rain a week will keep it wet. rain levels usually start dropping this time of year where you can get a few acres planted. Hang tough and keep the faith.

Went through a derecho in Iowa in August 2020. 45 minutes of 100-140 MPH winds. NOT FUN. My daughters house lost half her roof and while it stayed on the foundation the walls moved so much that drywall nails popped, doors went askew. Others lost whole roofs from wind and/or tree damage. Worst of all was losing elec for 1-3 weeks due to downed transmissions lines. Farms were hit hard, like yours, as storage bins were empty and susceptible to punch ins or pushed off foundations. The storm was 40-50 miles wide and 400 miles in length (estimated). Best of luck finding contractors to help in the rebuilds and do watch out for the "storm chasers" who talk a good talk but walk off with the money.
