As a fellow patchy thin beard man, I can 1000% say trust the process! I’ve got a fairly solid enough beard now that an occasional compliment comes my way, but it definitely took months of growth before I could do anything. I heavily rely on the length to compensate for it not being as full and it works perfectly. You got this Mike!👊🏽

I used to do the same with only going 3-4 weeks and then thinking I looked stupid & then shaving it off. I learned that patience & persistence are key, let it go for a little over 2 months & have not looked back. There are also hairs that I used to think were a myth, but are referred to as “late comers” that will grow in and add to the bulk. I have a few weaker spots but the length from the surrounding areas covers them over and the longer I let it grow the more those areas cover over & you don’t even know they’re there. You just gotta let it go, let it grow and see what you actually have to work with and then just rock whatcha got with confidence. My wife loves my beard more than I do.

So at 16 I was like Carlos. I have never had trouble growing a beard and I will say most shave there's within 3 months of trying. I have gone from having an almost 10 inch beard to having to be clean shaven qnd back again only to have to be clean shaven again. I would agree with the guys in the vid. Going 1 month does not show what most guys beards can grow into. Mine is now almost to my bellybutton and I have trimmed it often. It is worth giving any beard a solid 6 months before deciding to shave. Good luck Mike! Edited to add that I had a high and tight most of my life and decided to let my hair grow as well and it is now longer than my wife's! I went through all those wierd stages in hair growth and couldn't figure out how to make myself look presentable much less professional. But you just to have to push through and let it grow or you will never know.

My beard journey... i could grow a mustache at 18..a wimpy one... at about 22 I was able to add a goatee, kept it short. At 30 I let the goatee grow a bit. At about 45 I had a respectable goatee and at about 48 I added mass to that goatee by letting that hair close to my neck grow and by 50 I had a taper... no sideburns. And now at 54 I have a full beard and am letting it go... only trimming the mustache it is a bit weird now but i wish I had done this 15 years ago....I could have gotten here then and now could justify a real beard styling at a barber

That is funny. My beard grows almost exactly in the same pattern as yours but mine is just a bit more dense. I have completely bald areas right where yours are. I usually keep mine short just like Eric says. And I agree, I can't grow one too hahah. I've let it grow for about 3-4 months during the peak lockdown BS and I didn't like it, but I did like it short so that is what I kept and I can't imagine not having it. A few times I shaved it all off and it was fine, but I don't like it as much. And most everyone said the same thing, they like it on. Mine I guess looks close to Wick, but I dont have as high a cheek growth line. Rock it man. It will be the new you.

The only reason you don’t think you can grow a beard is because of how you look after a couple weeks. You see the patchy spots and it looks bad, so you shave. You gotta go through the awkward, itchy phase before you start seeing real results. Just stick with it. If it’s something you really want to do, you can.

I'm looking forward to seeing your beard in 3 months and then 6 months. Don't be too hard on yourself bro, every dude deserves and should grow a beard at least once in his life. I started with a goatee as soon as I could grow one, then a full beard which is now graying lol. I'm sure your buddies at Beard Brand are giving you tips along the way, and I think I actually read on their site, probably several places, you can use Minoxidil or Rogaine to stimulate facial hair growth (the stuff originally meant for hair on your scalp) but lots of guys have success with it.

Another tip when starting off: Instead of shaving with a razor, use clippers! This gives the slow growing hairs a chance to grow out evenly, which makes patches fill in better. Huge confidence booster that will give you a strong start!
