Anthropology is a theological study of man. We will take a real look at a biblical anthropology and see that humans are rather complex, having been made in the image of God yet being sinfully fallen creatures. Having a biblical view of man helps us make sense of the world around us, the battle within us and the love of God for us.

@@utuberme1 funny I just paused it too to comment. Mike has an amazing teaching style the can entertain and convict at the same time. Never in my life have I compared myself to Barabbas, that he in the movie like Mike said was “yucky”. I’d make him to be sin completely. He is what sin looks like standing next to God. So very profound.

This is great, I used to think that what was wronge with humans was sin and the falling, followed by the ignorance of god. But, nowadays I can say with certanty that what is wronge with humans is the ignorance and abandonment of oneself, the lack of love and acceptance of what we are and who we are as individuals and a group. This crazy behaviur leads us to be inmature and dependant, ever searching for a solution and answer that never comes, until we search in ourselves with love and sincerity.

You did good, Mike, up to about verse 14. If I could offer my commentary. In verse 15 Adam thrust the many/all people into death without their permission. 😔 In the same way God’s grace super abounded to the same many/all people without their permission.😃 Remember God‘s grace is not impotent Titus 2:11-12. This proves the receiving in verse 17 is passive in the sense that God brings it about in the many/all people just like the first sin brought about death in the many/all people and then verse 18,19,20 just mean what they say. Much love, bless you and your ministry.

What is your concept of love for her? Many of us love based on our view of how we should love or want to love. And that builds an expectation for many because it is unconsciously a sense of exchange. I love you this way and somehow, you should love me the same way? And failure to reach that sense of expectation and anticipation, I become jealous of perhaps who or what else is taking your attention from me. Loving another is about that person. That one love another totally and will be happy as long as that person is happy. First. This approach took me much time to understand. Just like how God loves us even though we are ungodly and sinners. He FIRST loved us when we do not even deserve Him. Same thing. But we will never get close to God’s level of love for us though we are to love one another as He has loved us.

I thought you were talking about this hymn: Trusting in Jesus, my Saviour divine, I have the witness that still he is mine; Great are the blessings he giveth to me: Oh, I am happy as mortal can be. Refrain: I am redeemed, and I know it full well, Saved by his grace, I with him shall dwell; I am redeemed, and the child of his love, Heir to a glorious crown above. One I was far from my Saviour and King, Now he has taught me his mercy to sing; Peace in believing he giveth to me: Oh, I am happy as mortal can be. [Refrain] Trusting in Jesus, oh, what should I fear? Nothing can harm me when he is so near! Sweet is the promise he giveth to me: Oh, I am happy as mortal can be. [Refrain] If while a stranger I journey below Filled with his fulness such rapture I know, What will the bliss of eternity be, When in his beauty the King I shall see? [Refrain]

The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself. “But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. “None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live."

Hey mike, on your take of death reigning by the law written on our hearts… wouldn’t it be the case that death would become active only until there was an acknowledgment of morals attributed to it? … curious about that It seems to me that death reigns because of man’s nature, since people like babies who are incapable to observe any law are still subject to death… did I not understand correctly?

The death of the body usually precedes but is not the same as the death of the soul (i.e. complete and total annihilation) . We tend to confuse both but they can’t be more different since the death of the body is rectifiable but the death of the soul is final…

To clarify the muddy Mormon doctrine- "For we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do." (2 Nephi 25:23 from the Book of Mormon) I never experienced a genuine, gut wretching, at loss for words, hands in the air, crying praises to His name kind of gratitude for Jesus' sacrifice until I left Mormonism. Mormons believe that EVERYONE, except those who deny the Holy Spirit, are (after a period of purgatory called "spirit prison") sent to a Kingdom of Heaven so great that you would allegedly kill yourself to get there. Yes, even serial killers. Yes, even child rapists. So if you're wondering why Mormons sometimes struggle to understand the need for the Sacrifice, that's why. 😕

Where does it say that we inherited Adam’s sin nature? I’m trying to figure this out. Does the Bible state this or is it just assumed because he sinned and death entered the world and we have sin and death throughout human history that it is all on Adam? Thanks Mike

If you read Romans 5:11-21, the bible does discuss it
@BrandonLewisD
@BrandonLewisD Жыл бұрын
I personally do not hold to the doctrine that we inherit a sinful nature. We sin for the same reason Eve sinned in Genesis 3:6; freewill, temptation, the Lust of the Flesh, the Lust of the Eyes and the Pride of Life. As James describes in James 1:14-15, we sin because we are tempted and give in to lust. Same thing happened with Eve in Genesis 3:6. _When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate_ Here you have the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life right there in a pre-fall\pre-rebellion world, before there could have even been a such thing as a sin nature. The Bible never says we inherit a sinful nature. It doesn't use anywhere the phrase sin nature, or hamartia and phusis together, not anywhere; yet it's a very popular phrase and doctrine in mainstream Christianity today. Lust's are strong desires of the flesh. Desire for food, drink, sex, are not evil desires but are natural and God given. The question is; How do we chose to satisfy these desires? Do we make idols out of them? Are we disobedient to God in how we satisfy those desires? Romans 7 is not describing the normal Christian life. It's describing someone trying to be righteous by keeping law, but being unable to do so (Saul the Pharisee). Chapter 6 tells us that our old man has been crucified, and we can walk in newness of life. We are to know this, and from now on we should not serve sin. We are dead to sin. We are to reckon this, log it down, stop yielding to sin, and yield to God. If we Christian's make up our minds we want to live for God, then He gives us the power to live it out. We aren't perfect, but Romans 7 is living in bondage, Romans 8 is living in victory. Bottom line is we all need God, Adam and Eve did, and so do we. None of us can make it without Him. May God truly Bless you.

It means that they believed that they were entitled to salvation because of their works. Even though they performed great signs and miracles, they missed the point of having faith apart from works. Their hearts had the wrong motives: their own glory rather than the glory of God. One issue I had with this in relation to trying to believe "once saved always saved" is that they seemed to have the Holy Spirit (our seal for salvation) but obviously were not saved. The answer I found was imagining that though their personal motives weren't for the glory of God, that doesn't mean the Holy Spirit didn't through them to bring others to Christ. So though they were not saved themselves, through them, others could've been saved because of the signs and miracles they performed. I myself doubted my salvation because of not understanding this verse. The point is, don't feel any work you perform will merit you salvation. The only path to salvation is through the one work of Jesus Christ. Somebody please correct me if I seem wrong about any of this but I hope this is a blessing to anyone wondering what this verse means.

Pastor Mike my understanding is that Gods law is written upon all of mankind's heart after Pentecost, God loved us so much that salvation is available to all because Jesus died and shed his blood on the cross for everyone unequivocally regardless of race nation creed color or sin universally.(until one chooses to refuse the gift of salvation) I understand its nothing that we do that gets us into heaven, it is what God has done that gets us into heaven. I get that Mike understand and believe that, however, God made us in his likeness in his Image and it was pleasing to God that mankind was Gods ultimate crowning of creation, his very own children. if we are that crowning of creation, his children, then how can God hate his greatest creation completely? (I do not think I could ever hate my children, hate them so completely where I would turn my back on them, let alone create a Hell for them to suffer in for eternity) it is a very hard thing to ponder that sort of hatred, that could God hate us that much... I personally have a hard time pondering that pastor Mike. Now I could see that Mankind might choose to be separated from God like where a child hates their Parents so much they turn away in their hard hardheartedness foolishness pridefullness, and yet God loving us so much still, that he created a way home by dying and shedding his blood for our sins, like the story of the prodigal child where the father always is awaiting for his child to return home and we mankind are those wayward children, that seems understandable to me, but I do not see the father hating his children and sending them off to hell. or does mankind choose hell for himself in his rebellion by refusing Jesus gift his blood shed on the cross for the forgiveness of sins? its really hard to believe that im a POS in the eyes of God, its hard to ponder that, being hated that much by God yet being loved by God... We are taught to Love the sinner and to hate the sin, so likewise God loves us but hates our sin?... this hurts my brain to think and ponder at this level... and definitely causes some low self esteem issues in me. God obviously loves us enough to die on the cross for us, imperfect, and sinful... is there nothing in that? nothing special knowing that God loves us HIS creation enough to die for us that mankind is special enough to deserve Gods love- feeling special like when a child gloats over his parents love, acceptance and approval. it is a great feeling to feel that love. thank you for sharing your wisdom us even though it makes my head heart. Pastor Mike feel free to correct my thinking and understanding I welcome it greatly. God bless you.

@Louis.R
@Louis.R 3 жыл бұрын
@@Glamorista you've completely misunderstood me. All humans today are Adamites. However, it is plausible that Adam was created de novo vis-a-vis his having special or theological, spiritual qualities from God (e.g. the image of God, free will, perfect grace) using existing anthropoid "material", which is to say, out of his (and our) genetic ancestors, which is to say, Adam's biological parents, cousins and even - yes - future daughters-in-law, as his progeny intermix and ultimately dominate the earth, making him (and Eve, endowed with the same special gifts) a universal genealogical ancestor. These anthropoids are human biologically, but not fully human in the sense that the Bible is trying to reveal to us, which is part of our problem of blindness about this, connected to the Fall. This is also a theory consistent with evolution that works from the metaphyisical or divine power first, with nature following. Have a nice day.
@Glamorista
@Glamorista 3 жыл бұрын
@@Louis.R "created de novo vis à vis" what does it mean??
@Louis.R
@Louis.R 3 жыл бұрын
@@Glamorista created "as new", insofar as Adam has radically unique intellectual/spiritual characteristics that the anthropoids, from whom his physical material and basic functionality derives, do not. So although the anthropoids may look exactly like Adam, have the same genes as Adam and can, and probably did, mate with Adam's descendents (that's another debate, the Nephilim/sons of God of Genesis 6), Adam is nevertheless a new creature, a new idea, a new form, a new soul. This is my Aristotlean/Thomist argument for how all evolution works, reversing Darwin's theory of natural accidents - the "accidents" or changes of matter follow the new forms, which first exist immaterially, i.e. in the mind of God.

Owen Hawthorne 🤔 we don’t have free will. If your born condemned, is it free-will to chose God or burn in hell forever. Coherent under duress is not free will.

The thing is God made us rebellious so while Adam and Eve are to blame for rebelling how could you not also blame God for making them/us this way?

What passage from genesis says that?

Rom 5:18. He is wrong about that. How can Jesus be called the new or other adam if He did not have atleast the same effect. Through adam we are all sinners (just like his parabel about parents moving away from one place to another) it was not a choice. Therefore through Jesus we are all saved, it is not a choice. If I payed your debts, it is payed and it does not matter if you accept it or not it is already been payed for. Now all the other versions about punishment is about correcting your thought process. God punishes so that He can correct you. Picture this: if you are owned by a master called death or satan you do as your master tells you to do. Then another master comes along His name is life or Jesus. He pays for you so that you will belong to Him (so you are saved) now you belong to Jesus but your mind is still doing things you've been thought by death/satan. Jesus says you are still a child of satan (in your mind) and I'll have to correct you for it. Now that correcting part is the punishment you find in the bible. As like all analogy this does not cover every aspect of the bible I just want to trigger people to read the bible carefully.

Yes. Read the Bible carefully. I’m a baby Christian. I’m reading the baby. And will re-read it over and over again! Praise God!

@@nancycali4644 for some reason youtube deleted my comment towards you. But I offered my help to you if you are interested. To help you read scripture, not to make you believe what I believe, to make you investigate for yourself and come to biblical conclusions. Let me know what you think of that. Praise God indeed.

@@O_tropos thank u. Are u a pastor? I appreciate your kindness brother. I have to be honest. My husband wouldn’t like it. Thank u anyway :). This is my Bible study. I read the word then do my research and listen to a few pastors to see how they break things down. I have seen they all have the same message but deliver it in their own different way. I do have a question. As a believer. Do u think we all have to, it’s a must to attend church? Is it in scripture? I’ve only been saved a 5-6 months. Still learning. Thank u brother

@@nancycali4644 No I'm not a pastor. I have been studying for about 20 years. I'm sorry, I meant no disrespect to you or your husband. But if it is okay with you or your husband you can always ask your questions on youtube and I'll answer. That is an excellent way of bible study, I do the same thing. However I have to say, stay critical on what anyone says, always go back to the bible and see if what the pastors or anyone says, is correct or align with the bible. No it is not a must to go to church. If you read john 4:19-24 you might get a better understanding. God is a spirit we need to worship Him in spirit. The place or building does not matter. God bless you sister, keep it up. If you have any more questions you can always ask. If you dont mind me asking, is your husband a believer of Christ?

@@O_tropos no worries brother u didn’t disrespect us. I just don’t want to disrespect my husband. Talking about I will read John next, after I’m done with Romans. My Husband got saved a month or 2 after i did. My prayers worked!!! God truly has answered my prayers, my husband has changed so much. Someone did witchcraft on us and we almost divorced. I also get a lot of demonic dreams and Godly dreams(Will get deliverance soon)I’ve asked God what is that my husband and I have to remove from our life. He gave me a visions of my Tv and his PlayStation. Then weeks later had a dream of 2 cell phones mine and his and all I said were sins. I talked to my husband. We canceled the Cable and made changes. We were idolizing these things. Always on our phones and his PlayStation games were demonic. Have u gotten deliverance? I’m in my 30’s I wish I would’ve been saved in my 20’s. If u don’t mind me asking Are u married? It’s a beautiful thing to be in a Godly marriage. God is beyond Good!
