I always love elseworlds when Sal talks trek. Having Jason on was brilliant, he knows his trek and how to love and laugh at it. A great conversation between you guys, I think you highlighted the positives and negatives of most iterations of Star Trek. Thanks for all you guys do!

"I feel young" is from the end of ST2 Wrath of Khan. He was next to Carol Marcus, but Bones asks him how he feels and he says "I feel young."

This was such a surprise episode, I just love Star Trek talk. I have a soft spot for 5 as well. As a kid we had a taped VHS with three movies on it. It was Star Trek 5, Asterix vs Julius Caesar and Masters of the Universe. I watched that tape so many times I could quote every movie by heart.

Never been into Star Trek, but the way Sal describes the infectious camaraderie is the exact thing that hooked me on X-Men seeing the first movies as a kid, and i gotta admit its the best sell ive ever heard for Star Trek

next generation is quite good. Not for marathoning but picking random episodes since everything gets resolved in 40 minutes. There's barely any continuity except for certain departures in the cast

I will say as a man in his mid to late 20’s it was the JJ Abrams movies that got me into Star Trek and where I watch the new stuff now as it comes out

2:01 was my exact response when my then girlfriend, now wife was trying to get me to watch Star Trek, Doctor Who, and Stargate. Almost exactly the same response, and the same end result. Love them all now. Probably even a bigger fan than she is at this point. Lol

YES DO A BOND EPISODE! I don’t have much familiarity with Trek other then watching a few episodes of TNG when I was a kid because the host of Reading Rainbows was on the show lol. But that said I loved watching this convo, it was engaging enough even for non trekkies like me. Would love to watch Sal and guests talking about more random movies and non comic stuff!

STAR TREK II:THE WRATH OF KHAN, IV:THE VOYAGE HOME, ST:TNG:FIRST CONTACT are the best ones. Honaorable mention to ST VI:THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY. The 3 Kelvin timeline ones are fun too. Have been told that the initial pitch for what would end up being the last TNG movie, NEMESIS, was to do a "Dark Mirror" movie but it was shot down by Patrick Stewart and maybe a couple of others? It's too bad because who didn't wan to see the TNG crew play evil versions of themselves? lol However, there have been novels and comic books that did stories set in the evil universe, so go check 'em out if you want!

sorry i missed it live, busy day at work last few actually. gonna sound weird but i'm not much a fan of TOS show but their movies are my favorite while TNG is my favorite for tv. i guess not weird sal just said the same thing kinda getting pulled in through the original movies. I even like number 5 "I need my pain!" is one of my favorite lines to quote. the first act is so bad I know but I like the final act alot. the bad guy realizes his err and kinda saves the day. its different. but my favorite movie might be Undiscovered Country, I like christopher plummer's Klingon warrior and the bones and kirk in prison and figuring themselves out the situation. so good. I do like the TNG movies too though lol despite the very accurate criticims from mike and plinket of RLM. I still like the schlock of first contact, i love picard's freak out even though its out of character. it's my second favorite

I think you guys forgot about the DS9 ep where Vash comes back thru the wormhole after being in the Gamma Quadrant with Q for something like 2 years. And "Its a Fake!" is from "In The Pale Moonlight" on DS9, when Sisko has to lie to the Romulans to get them in the Dominion War on the side of the Federation. DS9 is my fav Star Trek...

These are quite the Star Trek opinions. More power to you guys, I won’t yuck your yum. I would however rank TOS higher than TNG for the kitsch factor and City on the Edge of Forever alone. Movie wise, 2 is untouchable, but I also love all three of the Abrams produced films.

Given how much you purportedly love TNG, I find it odd that you criticise their films. As other far more qualified reviewers have already stated, Picard having an emotional moment in private in Generations makes him human, not weak. His attitude towards the Borg in First Contact is perfectly understandable given his history with them. As much as I hated Lily when she was first brought on the Enterprise, without her to challenge Picard's authority and obstinance, all hope could have been lost. On the subject of the Kelvin Timeline, from what I've heard, Star Trek Beyond is actually the very first of all the Trek films where the crew truly go "Where No-One Has Gone Before".

You've been a fan for a very long time, so I'm really surprised to see this kind of close-minded approach to our usual acerbic approach to something we love. Star Trek must mean a lot to you, to give you this sort of reaction. Thanks for watching anyway!

@@comicpopreturns After reading over my comment again the first sentence does seem a little aggressive, but my original intention was instead observational. I have been a fan for a long time and still watch and like every single video you put up because you're both entertaining & educational. You can be very cynical at times, but it's all part of the fun, so I apologise if I seemed confrontational before. My bad. Keep up the awesome work...!
