Find out what your Italian level is! Specifically, find out if you can use the Italian congiuntivo correctly! Do you know when you should use the indicativo, and when the congiuntivo? By taking this quiz, you'll find out what your level of Italian is and whether you can use the congiuntivo correctly.
In this test, I'm going to give you a number of clauses where you'll have to choose between the indicativo and congiuntivo. There are 21 sentences in total. For each sentence, I'll give you a form in the indicativo and one in the congiuntivo. You have to choose the right answer. You'll score 1 point for each correct answer.
Please do write down the number of your correct answers, because at the end of the quiz I'm going to tell you what your level of Italian is. In other words, I'm going to tell you if you speak Italian at an elementary level, at an intermediate level, at an advanced level, or at the level of the legendary Super Italian (a Super Italian is a kind of Super Saiyan who speaks Italian super fluently, at a legendary level).
In this test I'll refer to the proficiency levels indicated by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The six skill levels for languages are: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2. In particular, the levels A1 and A2 correspond to an elementary level of Italian. The level B1 is the intermediate level. The level B2 is the intermediate to advanced, or upper intermediate level. The levels C1 and C2 correspond to an advanced level of Italian.
This test will help you understand what your Italian level is, specifically with respect to grammar.
Note: This test is mostly aimed at people learning or studying Italian as a second language.
