From what I hear from people around me, passengers and drivers don't really want to hold a conversation the whole time. They just want to go to the destination and that's it. That's probably why Loni said that. If you talk constantly, you might get a lower rating

As an Uber (and Lyft) driver I have to correct some of what they said. We rate riders AFTER the trip has ended. Riders are able to rate drivers at anytime. 1.Tipping is not required, but it is encouraged. There is NOT a way to tip through the app (like with Lyft) but it is a nice gesture. Especially if you have your driver waiting b/c time is money. If you tip your waitress for good service, tip your driver for their service as well. It's hard in these streets! LOL! 2. I personally don't mind talking to my passengers, but I know when a passenger prefers a quiet ride. I also check to make sure that the temperature and radio station is to their liking. I ensure a safe and comfortable ride for everyone. Plus you never know WHO you're meeting. It's good to get to know others, especially if you'll be in an enclosed space for a period of time. 3. My driver rating is 4.88 and my rider rating is 5.00. It even out depending on your ride usage.

I have a 4.75. He lost his wallet. Called the uber back, they looked for it together. When he couldn't find it he showed him the gun and told him "You dont want to do this". Uber driver was freaking out. He has a license to carry.

1. I think Uber needs to get on one page when it comes to tipping. Some say you should tip & others say no. I always do. I think most people don't because they always seems shocked when I hand them the tip. 2. I only gave a bad rating once. I was coming home from Thailand, so I was super tired. The driver was on the phone the whole time & kept missing turns. It took me at least 5min longer to get home. If you're going to be a driver I feel you need to focus & make sure you get the passenger to their destination safely. Other than that, I always give 5 stars.

only if they new how it really works from the driver side. some drivers see 4.3 and wont get that person. let it go to the next driver. a 4.3 rated passenger could mean the driver's rating is a 50/50 of not getting a 5. you will never see a driver with that rating because they get deactivated at 4.6. a 4.3 rated passenger means they got a lot of 1 star rating. from a driver point of view a 4.3 is a bad passenger not a good rating. they should I have done their research on how the rating system really works

It's not rude. I am an uber driver. You have to understand if I am driving all day everyone's been so nice or not so nice your attitude or "requests" reflect my rating. Just how if I say no I won't wait for you to get groceries because it's a surge right now and I have other customers and you give me 3 stars. And really tip even if it's $2 if you have them missing out on others rides. Or don't tip but don't expect 5 unless your 5 star passenger.

I drive for UBER and I usually always give 5* unless the passenger does something so outrageous to make me give lower ratings like make me wait a long time or leaves trash in my car or is just rude. most of the time, I dont have time to rate them lower because they want us to explain why we gave the low rating and alot of times, I'm already on my way to another passenger or I'm driving.

4.3 is actually a really bad rating. This could affect them getting trips. The average is 4.89 so their scores are well below average. Who is going to tell them? Asking them to wait while she does her shopping is definitely not going to help. I think the expectation is too high. I made 15 trips. 14 were 5 stars and one was a three star. This makes my rating 4.87 (below average). So I received 73 out of 75 stars. Strange that if I had two more stars it would take me from below average to perfect. There has to be a better way of rating. Maybe the driver wae grumpy that day. I bet I gave him 5 stars. It needs to be fairer.

I drive for Uber and if you come in my 🚗 smelling like weed or cigarettes, I automatically deduct a star. You're giving me extra work to do after you get out my car. I have to get the car smelling fresh again before the next rider and sometimes I don't always have the time. But if you don't give me any issues, you get 5 stars. ☺

Like if they're rude, if they don't know where tf they are going, if they sit in the front seat but don't wanna talk, but I won't rate you less than 4 unless you are seriously doing something extra extra like spilling stuff in my car, slamming my doors, wasting my time waiting for you or something.
