K P The problem is that the media only helped him because of his looks. He got a free 2nd chance. What about the other poor criminals who also had a dark past like Meeks? Don’t they deserve a 2nd chance? No right? Cause they aren’t good looking enough.

He has a great mental attitude for the past he has had. He could have become an angry person but chose to be wise and choose a better life for himself regardless of his past, not feeling loved or having proper guidance can mess with people's minds but he stayed positive. It's amazing that his mental positivity could come from both his parent's that weren't that positive. I hope he stays happy and better things come his way, he is a great role model.

The funny thing about it is there have been studies in the past that have found that good looking criminals tend to get lighter sentences. @@The_toreroIf there's a study there are cases to back it up such as the case of Debra LaFave out in Florida whose attorney argued that she was too pretty to go to jail. Attorneys always talk about how a client or potential client does or doesn't present well. That's because they know all too well image plays a big role in the outcome of a trial. That's why they always make sure their clients look as polished as possible and the media Photoshop mugshots to make perps look unappealing.

Haha. Spent my whole life working hard, grew up rough, fought, and all throughout my life having women vet me, question me, interview me, jump through hoops to see if I'm worthy of their presence. This guy will get all of that attention and praise and support just for his looks. Sure bad things happened in prison. Tough life. But women's attention is free for him. I will always be vetted, questioned, run through tests. Even after building a business of my own I still get attention from only women that have given up on their desires to land a good looking guy. And they still question my ability. My game is: I just don't commit. Because that's what they look for when they can't land Jeremy. Life's not fair. You don't get Jeremy. I don't get my ideal woman either. Suck it up cupcake. I just tell women the same thing they used to tell me. Maybe you'll find that one special man someday 🤷‍♂️

See so many judging him but how many of us had to grow up with abusive junkie parents and then in the hood immersed in gangs. Our childhoods shape who we will become as adults, the cards were clearly stacked against him and the fact he capitalized on his opportunity to turn his life around should be commended. Meeks was blessed with looks which saved him and people seem to be salty about it but ask yourself are his looks really worth a traumatic childhood, one that led him to spend a decade in prison?

I cried as he spoke about that hellish childhood- I'm from south side of Chicago, mixed race, bullied but not a fighter (& not drop-dead gorgeous). I dove into the Meeks Legacy starting the day the mugshot went viral, not because of the pretty face but because of the sensitivity & intensity of his eyes - the mirrors to the soul. My interest was: Who is this man?? Something special lives in him. Beauty helps a lot of special people spread messages.

I’m so glad that he is sharing his story. It’s important to me to hear him say that he said he left his sister’s home at 15. He had a positive influence that tried to keep a tight grip on him, but he went on to do what he felt wanted to do. I also never took into consideration that his skin color would be an issue in the hood. No matter how light or dark you are, this is pretty much the story of most black men. The way he was discovered was not on the strength of his personality I’m sure, but I hope he uses this as a platform to strengthen and encourage other men that no matter how dark your life seems, every person has their own light at the end. God’s grace is on him heavily and he has been pushed into the spot light for a bigger reason then himself.

The hard life this guy went through he truly deserves good things that came to him. He was just born to the wrong parents. I feel bad for what he endured at such a young age. Happy for his new life now.

I absolutely agree. He was born with parents that God gave him. God don't make mistakes. Unfortunately, his parent's made terrible choices which may have led to an unwanted pregancy and decided to go through with the pregancy, knowing full well he would be a heroine baby since both his parent's was on Heroine. That's sad. All that he went through, he is a miracle and he is so blessed. When is the last time any of us ever saw a young man being in prison ever thought his face would get so much attention and a mugshot at that. That is divine favor from God. This don't happen not to my knowledge. This is rare to none.

I think he actually did the right thing. He did not want his kids to experience poverty and accepted the blessings he was given. Although he was with the mother of his kids for a while, he made sure his kids will never go through the same things he suffered as a child. This is actually a very smart move. Now his children and ex-wife will live a way better life.

It’s really sad to see how our country institutionalizes so many young men (and women, but primarily men). Privatized prisons are wrong on sooo many levels, it should not be allowed in my opinion. Americas prison system really is just a modern day form of slavery, you’d be naive to think that we live in a free country. I could literally go on and on with systemic racism and the problems that sooooo many Americans turn a blind eye on. Something has got to CHANGE and I pray that it happens sooner than later. There’s A LOT of work that needs to be done, I guess I can at the very least appreciate the fact that more and more people are starting to wake the f*** up.

Corrado Soprano It’s also interesting how they act as if him leaving behind his former life is a consequence of anything other than luck; they made him rich, they removed all the incentive for him to commit crime, and then, they pretend as if his reversal was the consequence of some kind of moral transformation, instead of just a case of luck of the draw; there’s also talk of him being a role model; well, a role model is a person who has a lesson to teach; what lesson can you learn from a hyper-successful criminal, exactly, whose wealth is ill-gotten? Crime pays? Being a criminal is okay as long as you’re good-looking? Give me a break. What a joke.

Well at least he isn't and hasn't committed a crime. Yes he isn't the ideal role model but he has made the opportunity he was given and hasn't missed it up. Why do we have to be so critical and negative. Fishing for his past when he has maintained staying away from drama. There's many people rich or poor who have openly committed crimes and society doesn't give them a conviction... let's let him live. A judge believed in him and gave him an opportunity....... at times that's what is needed... faith that someone sees your potential.

Mimi A Now, his criminal capacities are just going to increase a thousandfold, and his temptation towards criminality is going to become even more potent because he’s rich, and as we all know, being rich makes you even more immune to the law than being good-looking does; if you’re good-looking and rich, then the world is pretty much your oyster, isn’t it? and you’re pretty much the equivalent of a god in the eyes of everyone, aren’t you? and you can pretty much do whatever you want, at whoever’s expense, can’t you? and people will still defend you and love you and bow and scrape at your feet and even ingest your very mard if you ask them to, no matter what you do, wont they?

Mimi A It will. I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure that it does. Do you see now the kind of effect his victory has? These are the depths of demonism that you can be driven to even by just contemplating lives like his- the lives of criminals ascendant and victorious and happy to the utmost extent. Did I express myself clearly? Do you understand? Well, hopefully, you do.

Mimi A And I’m not alone in my thoughts, either, I promise you; I promise you: anyone who thinks about his life with any degree of seriousness, if they have any hint of bravery or honesty at all, will come to the same conclusion that I’ve come to, and they’ll work towards the same ends that I’m working towards now; they may not be able to express their ideas as clearly as I can, of course, but, nonetheless, the ideas will still be there, under the surface, unseen, and voiceless, but working and spinning and coruscating.
