I once had a roommate who decided her doctor was "wrong" about her being an epileptic. I thought she meant he misdiagnosed her, but no, she just decided that because she hadn't had a seizure in a while, she no longer needed the medication. The medication that was preventing the seizures. She later got very upset that I "ratted her out" to her parents when I called 911 because she was, you know, having a seizure in our room.

@TheMellbell136 жыл бұрын
There were a lot of generally stupid things (boiling water... in a ceramic mug... on an open flame. Spoons - spoons fucking everywhere in weird places) but the worst besides the seizure was that she kept claiming that she could hear someone yelling for help below our window. We were on the top floor but the parking deck was below us, so the first couple times it happened, we reported it to security, who found nothing. The third time, I asked her if it was the same person every time. She said, "No, first it was an Asian man, then a white woman, than an Indian guy. But none of them had accents. They all sounded American." Then I remembered that she claimed she didn't see these people. She only heard them. So I asked how she knew what ethnicity they were. And she said, "I don't know, I just Know." I honestly thought she was lying for attention so I let it go. Then after I found out that she really was epileptic, I was told that sometimes they use anti-psychotics to treat seizures (guess what she was on) and when you go off them, some people briefly get psychotic symptoms like hearing voices.

A roommate of mine was basically in a hypochondriac family. She dominated the rules but when we watched her closer, they weren't problems at all. For one thing, the put a note on the thermostat saying it can't go above or below a specific temperature or else it affects her breathing. No matter how uncomfortable we were. Then she told us she had a peanut allergy. That wasn't a problem until I saw her eating peanut butter and crackers and asked "I thought you weren't supposed to eat that." She said "Oh, I can have a little, it doesn't bother me as long as I don't have too much." But I know that is not how peanut allergies work. She would complain about how dirty the suite was but refused to clean it. I tried to use Febreeze one day but she yelled saying it affects her respiratory system. However, at the end of the year, there was a smell we couldn't locate and she asked us "Hey, do you guys know where the Febreeze is?" "I thought we weren't supposed to use it because it bothered your breathing?" "Oh, well, I can make an exception." WTF?! But nothing beats Graduation day. The night before, the other 2 girls and I scrubbed the apartment clean but purposefully left the bathroom for her to clean to be fair. After the ceremony, it still wasn't done. Our families were all there congratulating us and I was about to go have a celebratory dinner with my family and fiance. She walked up to me and said "Hey, the bathroom is still really dirty. Would you mind cleaning that?" I WAS NOT HAVING IT! I told her flat out "I'm not going to do it. The rest of us cleaned everything and left that for you." "But my family and I are about to go celebrate and it's not done." "I'M about to leave for dinner right now (I was right by the door)." Then, in front of everyone, she said "Well, SOMEONE is gonna have to do it." My mom called my name cuz she saw my evil expression, but I clapped my hands together to try to keep from yelling and I looked her dead in the eyes with the most serious voice I could and said "I'ts Gonna Have To Be You." At the end of all of that. She was the last to leave, but guess what she was doing. She was sitting on her ass talking to her friend while her PARENTS were cleaning and packing for her!!! Spoiled brat

One year in college, my roommate was a chronic masturbator. One day after each class I went to when I would return he had his pants around his ankles. I fixed the problem by nailing a thick comforter into the ceiling of our dorm separating his bed off from the rest of the dorm. He came back from class with some people. Got lippy with me for doing that. When asked why by his friends, I told them why. You saw the kids face turn red as everyone kept laughing. Didn't talk to him for the rest of the semester. I once lived with a couple that habitually lied to each other but always took each other’s side. This resulted in me being constantly blamed for things one or both of them did. This ranged from not putting a new toilet paper roll on to damages to my stuff from their pets (somehow “”I”” did it). It was always two against one. They also once sat me down and told me I really needed to friend up and foot the bill more and buy them things they wanted, something I (stupidly) already did quite often but apparently it wasn’t enough. It was like they discussed it together and decided demanding their roommate buy them shit was an acceptable thing to do. After that I never paid for food or bought them anything ever again. I never lived with a couple again either.

I was thinking about them the other day so here’s another. They had huge parties sometimes multiple times a week - at first I was all for hanging out with friends and having a drink. Then they started getting friends that were just stupid drunks who were out of control. At their worst they had a “vombo board” to keep track of how often people puked because it was cool somehow? They also had a drinking game where you’d stand in a circle and take turns smashing a full beer can against your forehead until it popped - then the person had to try and drink it, usually resulting in cut lips and foreheads. I’d try to go to the bathroom, people would be making out in it. Once people used my bedroom for sex when I wasn’t home. One time I was sleeping and two people stumbled in basically trying to have sex on top of me. Another time some creep tried to sneak into my bed. I got a lock but quickly moved out once it got that bad.

I supplied all the pots and pans for my apartment and repeatedly asked my roommates not to fry this pork chop dish they liked to make, because they would leave it for me to clean up and it was disgusting. So I locked the cabinet doors after they once again left dirty oil in my pots and they reported me to the apartment management because locking something in the public living area is against their policy. So I moved every single item of my cookware into my own bedroom and they were left with nothing to cook with. They tweeted and posted on Facebook about how they were going to “beat that little bitch’s ass” and I showed this to the apartment staff. Since it was two against one, they say I started the entire conflict. The manager sided with them and I had to pay $250 to relocate to a different building in the complex after one of them began to verbally threaten me in my own apartment later that week.

In my junior year of college (right now), I am in a dorm with this guy that showers once a week, he never says anything, like I don't remember the last time we said a single word to each other, and the other day, I walked into the dorm room, and I knew he was there just by the smell. I didn't even have to see him first, I just could smell him.

I got one that seemed alright for the first month or so but then he started drinking amazing quantities. He was a little guy, about 135 lbs. and drank about a fifth and a half and an 18 pack on an average day...I'd come home and find him passed out in the hall, on the toilet, etc. One day I came home and there was a trail of diarrhea across the carpet from his room to the bathroom, the bathroom itself looked like a nuclear poop bomb went off. I literally picked him up out of bed (I'm not a little guy) and threw him on the bathroom floor and after yelling and threats he cleaned it all up and I gave him another chance. He did exactly the same thing 2 weeks later and I started throwing him and his things out the door (the lease was in my name). He begged, cried, got on his knees, but there was no third chance.

I was in graduate school and had the same roomates for 4 years. One roomate was obnoxious who unconsciously thinks he is infallible. Leaves dishes, loud, make everyone else feel bad, and loves attention. He went out with someone within our class and ends up living in our household w/o asking the rest of us it was okay. Eventually we had our internships and I end up living with the couple because they needed a roomate (though I could've live on my own). I was asking dating advice and the girlfriend had ask me what was my preference to help me out. To make it simple, I told her someone with her personality because I could see myself be with someone like her. She then took it the wrong way and got weirded out, then locks herself in their room. My obnoxious roomate proposed to her in marriage later and made him to convince me to move out and they knew of my depression. Luckily, I live with my best friend who happen to be moving out from a bad situation. So in the end, I stop talking to my roomate who I treated like a brother, end all affiliates I had with them (because they treated me like I was a piece of shit), took a dead end (but good paying) job, and in bigger financial debt. What lesson learned? When your friend is in a relationship you should already consider moving out and you can't rely on anyone else to have your back...because you never know if they back stabbed you.
@jessykaros3 жыл бұрын
Tbh if I asked a friend what kind of girlfriend they want and they said "someone like you because I can see myself being with someone like you" I would get weirded out too. Especially if I was already in a relationship with his best friend and his roommate.

I had a flatmate who was a bit odd. I'd sometimes hear him shouting things in the kitchen, like lines from TV shows. A few times he offered to pay me to clean his dishes which had filled the sink and worktop. The worst was sometimes when passing me on the staircase he'd suddenly shout in my face "I'M GONNA KILL YOU!" then laugh hysterically and walk off. Then he got another flatmate doing it...

A couple of years back I went to have a shower in the afternoon and found a small round piece of shit on the bottom of it. There was only one of my other housemates in the house since I was last in the bathroom and seen that the shower did not have shit in it (we'd just had a guy over to fix a minor leak in it) so I knew exactly who it was. He'd also not had the best track record with cleanliness before, regularly leaving pubes and piss on the toilet seats and "washing" pans up by barely rinsing them and then putting the, on the draining board where the tomato sauce left on them could get on the actually clean stuff (despite the fact he had serious allergies and, if we'd washed up that poorly, it could have been a major problem for him). I messaged the house group chat being like "wtf, there's a shit in the shower" and the other two housemates agree and are also shocked. The shitter sees the message and then a few hours later says "I've cleaned it up, still not sure it was me though". Like, wtf. How would you not know? And, if you didn't think it was your shit, surely you'd have a strong preference for getting the person who's shit it was to clean it up? I'm pretty sure he did know it was his but was trying to make us think it wasn't, despite the fact he was the only person it could have been. I showered at my (now) fiance's from then until I moved out. I even overlapped the tenancy on my new house (with the other two housemates and my fiance) more so I could move out sooner. During the overlap period, before I actually had a bed in the new house, he was the only one actually living there (because none of us wanted to spend more time than we had to near him) I came back to pick up some stuff and, as I opened the front door, I saw him standing completely naked in the kitchen where all of us still had things. He seemed to think things could go back to a normal friendship after all this and I had to explicitly tell him that there was no way we could be friends and to please not contact me again (which he has moreorless done). Now I'm in a much nicer house that costs the same, lets us have a cat, and, crucially, doesn't have someone living in it who'd leave a shit in the shower. Meanwhile, he's started a PhD and moved into college grad accommodation and, a few weeks ago, I saw on one of the university's anonymous grudge submission fb pages that someone had had someone shit in their shower...

Lemme tell you a little something about my flatmates from my first year of university. Flatmate 1: - Set a pot on fire. The pot had nothing in it. - Didn’t realise that pasta had to be in water for it to boil. Flatmate 2: - Took showers while singing loudly at 2:00 in the morning. - Lied about his age to pick up younger girls and get grants and scholarships that he was too old for. Flatmate 3: - Didn’t know how to care for himself as he had grown up with servants. - Constantly complained about minor/silly things, like about how he didn’t like to drive his brand new Mercedes worth thousands of pounds, or about how he had to do things for himself. - Bragged about terrible things, like setting aside money for a date when he already had a girlfriend back at home. He never got a date. - Ran out of money from home because he had no concept of budgeting. - Obsessed with our sex lives because he wanted to live vicariously through them. “Had the most boring year ever” because nobody was having sex with anybody. We were all to busy studying, or we just didn’t want it, which shocked him greatly. He was mystified by the fact that some people just don’t want to have sex on a daily basis, or simply don’t want it at all. - Didn’t know how to clean things, and didn’t know when it was appropriate to clean them. Went back to his home over Christmas, leaving a rice cooker with rice in it to fester. Upon opening the cupboard door, we were all hit with the smell of rotting food and realised that we had to clean all of our things because of the mould. - Got incredibly offended when us “poor folk” wouldn’t take his money, especially girls. - “Borrowed” our pots and pans, only to destroy them beyond repair by not using them for their intended purpose. It was the only time that he did not offer us money. - Threw ingredients together in a pot and didn’t realise that he’d actually made a dish with a name until someone told him. Didn’t recognise that he’d made an omelet. - Let his food explode up the wall on inspection day. Decided to leave it alone to harden. Got caught doing it on CCTV, but still maintained that it wasn’t him. - Didn’t realise that he had to put a tray under food that he was cooking in the oven because the cooking instructions on the package didn’t specifically say so. Burned the chicken to a crisp on the rack, took one look at it, and said, “I’m not cleaning that.” Left it to harden like a rock. Had to beg housekeeping for help after nothing we did could remove the burnt grease and chicken from the rack and the bottom of the oven, thus putting it out of commission for a week. There were 10 of us and we were left with one oven, by the way.

I was in a boarding school 🏫 when I was like 16 (I can’t remember cuz it was only for a few months I got kicked out 🤷♂️) but I had two roommates , and they didn’t get along one of them was a big guy not fat but built like a wall, and the other a little too free with his body and would walk around nude and the big guy would always tell him to not be naked in our room because it’s a small room and it made him uncomfortable and the kid didn’t listen and would actually antagonistically like lotion his body in front of the guy or shave but finally when he did like some yoga pose and bent down in right in front of the guy , it was too much. The big dude totally beat the crap out of the naked guy. all three of us were moved to different dorms even though i had nothing to do with it . But it was crazy 😂

That's not the worst thing ever. I wish that was the worst thing anybody here had ever done. I had catty manipulative trans women, that Associated femininity with all of the wrong stereotypical qualities of what that means in our society. I had cocaine addict car flippers that got deported by Ice. I had a suicidal Sudanese kid that was here illegally because he lied on his paperwork about his age. and white privilege and Supremacy have been huge issues here, because even though white people say that they're cool, most of them really aren't. a used tampon is disgusting, but that really would have been the least of my problems.

Well grant could be execused, because they were most likely doing what guys normally do and trash each other and goofing around, plus most of his other roommates did it, plus the guy bought drugs. Katie on the other hand made me kind of hate her now, she bashed her roommates online for stuff they didn't do, didn't change names or profiles, still did it when they were upset, and you could hear her trying to make her seam like the victim with the "they were spoiled" it doesn't matter if they were rich that doesn't give you the right to be a awful person. She even admitted that she was the bad roommate, she basically said "it was just a prank bro" and she had the balls to say she wasn't going to apologize, ether there was more to the story that she wasn't telling or she really is a rotten person

He was on me 24/7 about Jesus, his relationship with Jesus, what he and Jesus and for lunch; you get the idea. I come home and he's sitting in the living room looking at me very sheepishly. I go into my room and see that my computer, on which is my 1/3 completed masters thesis, exhibiting the blue screen of death. I go into the living room and ask him what he was doing in my room, on my computer. He admits that he was downloading porn on my computer and one of the files had a virus. I lived in an apartment with 3 of my close friends. Well, one of these friends (we'll call her Jamie) meets a guy online, no job, no money and he moves in with her after 6 weeks of long distance. She was previously kicked out of her dorm because he was staying there and her 3 roommates did not approve. Fast forward, this guy, still no job, no car; Jamie pre med, with 2 jobs and he gets jealous of her working. They would fight all the time, one fight was over her asking him to stop spending so much of her money from her jobs and parents on weed, he then blames her for him getting fat because he never get to do anything because she always has the car at work or on campus, and all she does (a pre med major) is study. He was emotional and verbally abusive, and that's so hard to watch your friend deal with that but think nothing is wrong. Now, we started getting $90 overage bills (utilities were included in rent) because he kept the AC so low all day, I left a kind, not mad, note before I ran out to my job (dude had a job at Dollar General but got fired). I get home from closing shift (10:30) and he come out of their room yelling at me and my boyfriend, now husband. He was trying to fight him, dude weighs close to 300, my bf weighs 140.... I have an anxiety attack and call the cops. He was so defensive the whole time they tried to talk to him, he had weed, I'm surprised they didn't search him. Anyway, she graduated, and they moved to where he med school is, and blocked me on all forms of social. I hope she's OK, he was a huge loser.
