As a vegas resident, we stay away from the strip.. Downtown is the spot if you want the vegas experience on a budget.. if you want something nicer on a budget stay at RedRock Casino.. just west of the casino is the redrock loop (a pretty decent free scenic drive) there's a pay to enter drive out there where you can see some real pretty views (just don't pull out the cameras near the booth cuz they'll automatically assume you're media and require licensing fees and stuff), but once you're deep into it if it's not too busy you could essentially stage the car to get some real incredible shots...
