Honestly the only issue with Odyssey getting an adaptation is that Jinx will be a prominent character again (though that could also go in its favour) The tone of the trailer is such fun and you can really imagine the hijinks woven in with the more serious backstory

On the other hand, Odyssey Jinx is quite different from Arcane Jinx. A much more light-hearted tone, where her attitude is played more for comedy than drama, will give her a decent contrast, it may be really interesting to see how different two characters made from the same base premise can be.

A Bilgewater animated show in the style of “Arcane” would be fantastic. “The Ruined King” game actually delved a little deeper into that storyline; and it paints a great picture of what to expect from a character like Miss Fortune (and sort of makes it impossible for such a character not to be voiced by Laura Bailey). Honestly, though…I can already see the “world” opening up to Noxus: we might get some of the stories from that region sooner rather than later.

I feel that Arcane is creating a setup for Noxus-Ionia war. At the end of Arcane noxians may imprison Jinx and make a deal with Singed to use them both to build a magical nuke that kick-started Yasuo's, Riven's and Yone's arc. This could create a lot of dramatic tension. Yasuo fleeing with Jinx and befriending her because they share similar trauma only for Yasuo to discover that she was the one who made the bomb and ruined his life, stuff like that. Predictable, but could make a pretty satisfying storyline with good execution.

Personally, I feel that the key to success in Riot's extended media storytelling is in stories that have not quite been told. A lot of people will talk about The Burning Tides or The Demacian Civil War as great stories, but a show like Arcane flourished with the freedom to add to and remove from the lore without breaking too much stuff. I feel the best option for this would be Swain's rise to power and the formation of the Triferix. You can include Darius and Draven, the arena and blood magic lore from LoR, but you can also expand on The Black Rose and intergovernmental relations with Demacia and the Shuriman tribes, and even leave hints beneath the surface of the corruption brought about by demons and the ever-present shadow of Mordekaiser over the capitol. It would be a show of grand scale and emotional weight to match Arcane, and as an added bonus it would flesh out a culture that will likely play a massive role in the upcoming MMORPG. As much as id love bildgewater to be the next, i honestly think that after arcane, going for the unkown noxian storylines would open up a Large potential to expand to other region's stories/lore, as noxus is one of the region that has the most connection with other regions. For example its more recent ionia invasion, the disputes with demacia, they repel attacks from the north (freljord), and their conquered areas in shurima.

@@-drey-202 Absolutely. Transitioning to Noxus after the Piltover/Zaun arc of Arcane makes way too much sense, given that Arcane already has a direct connection to Noxus and its potential storyline. I've thought about it quite a bit, and I could easily see a end-credit-esque tease scene for the Noxus series coming at the end of Arcane S2; something along the lines of Talon or another Noxian assassin being sent by Swain to deal with Ambessa Medarda, maybe find an artefact on her corpse confirming that she was tied to the Black Rose, hence why Swain is implied to have killed her son. From there, Arcane S3 could start the Noxus storyline from Darius or Swain's POV. For Swain, it'd pick up somewhere after his Ionian defeat and rehash his lore in flashbacks, and explore his political skirmishes with LeBlanc. For Darius, though, he'd be an observer to it, as well as a more honest look at a Noxian's life. His backstory in his comic could be explored in a similar way to the first three episodes of Arcane, showing childhood as a Noxian orphan rising up the ranks. Fast-forward to interactions as a General with Swain, hearing about the Black Rose and Crimson Circle by nature of his rank being a political draw. By the end of the series, the political war could reach a fever pitch, and it'd be up to Darius - a true Noxian, not just some politician trying to gain power - to make the choice that defines Noxus as a nation. From there, the next Arcane series could be teased in a similar end-credit-esque scene for... anywhere, really. We could have any number of Noxian champions being briefed for an upcoming invasion of Ionia, with Swain musing about paying back a debt whilst fiddling with his demon hand, referencing Irelia. We could have a scene focusing on the Du Coteaus to hint at a Demacia V Noxus arc, with the main characters being Garen and Katarina as they have their Romeo/Juliet relationship. We could focus on another Du Coteau, Cassiopeia, and have her prepare to go on her trip to Shurima in the tease scene, and the intro for the next arc would be the Sivir betrayal narrated by Nasus before fading to a flashback of Azir and Xerath's time. Hell, we could even fast forward to post-Ruination and have any number of characters having dinner with a disguised Thresh. TL;DR All roads lead to Noxus. Head there after Piltover/Zaun, then after the Noxus series, go basically anywhere you want.

I think Arcane could naturally evolve to that, I'm not sure about the timeframe of Swain's rise to power, but we know that Singed worked for Noxus in helping with the invasion of Ionia by making chemical weapons, so that means that Arcane takes place before that event, and it has already hinted us that Noxus is going to be an important region for season 2, so maybe we'll start to shift in that direction.

As much as a full on arcane-esque series would be amazing, I think an anthology series a la love death and robots could do really well, imagine a self contained horror episode featuring a hamlet of farmers dealing with a rumoured scarecrow that's causing people to disappear left and right. Or even an episode of a soldier climbing mount targon only to eventually fail and perish, imagining themselves at the peak when they've barely touched the summit. Allowing multiple different studios the opportunity explore the world of league and shape it with their own unique forms of storytelling could be very compelling

It doesnt need to open riots eyes. Theyre very well aware of the amazing stuff they have lingering arround. They have by the way also already confirmed that there is more to come regarding different types of media, meaning more shows (maybe in different styles live action/anime) and so on. When this stuff is gonna get released has a really huge questionmark behind it sadly. Riot really takes its time to deliver good stuff, for example Arcane was 6 Years in the making with a budget arround 90-100 mill.

This is my sentiment as well! Even though I've been a long-time fan of the Runeterra universe and have played League off and on since its inception, I believe there are so many like you, Rose, that would absolutely love the Runterra universe as I do. I believe that was Blizzard's biggest mistake with WoW: not capitalizing on alternative media/revenue streams and fixating on the gaming genre. And personally, I feel that Riot has a more interesting World in Runterra vs Azeroth. I can't tell you how many times I've thought of, wished for, and even searched Amazon for a certain product (such as apparel) based on a certain character or a particular story arc, only to look and find nothing! And don't get me started on the pathetic amount of items offered in their merch store. They had 2 Arcane shirts in their store and both were fugly looking. Seriously, every other IP on the planet offers a plethora of items to choose from if you fancy their IP. But not Riot! Riot has a gold mine with its IP but up until Arcane, they've been shooting themselves in the foot like Blizzard, IMHO.

As a writer the miss fortune story actually sounds really good, the path to revenge leading into having to then take the position of the person who she spent her life to destroy. It's kind of like where the luke cage show was going before it got cancelled (with him having to become the new crime boss after taking out everyone else to prevent a power vacuum that would lead to a huge gang war putting others in danger) and it's a really interesting concept cause normally the story ends at the revenge as if it solves everything but the next part of the story is actually the more interesting part.

🍑 I'll be honest, my top pick for an Arcane style adaptation would be Mount Targon. You'd have a setting very much like Arcane but distinct from it as well - a different level of technology, lots of smaller villages as opposed to two big cities, and whereas Hextech allows for a more Magitech feel Targon has literal gods (well, Aspects, but that's basically the same thing) throwing down and potentially having DBZ punch fights. It'd also allow Diana's rebellion against the Solari to be more clearly fleshed-out than it is in the lore as of now, and given the Pride Month story from a few years ago Riot don't really have any excuse not to write Leona and Diana as tragic exes, so that'd be fun. And, also, there's a prime opportunity for political intrigue considering Diana essentially kills the College of Cardinals in a Theocracy - what does that do to the political landscape of the Solari, even without the threat of a potential Lunari revolution? I dunno, there's a lot of stories to get out of Targon - granted, the same is true of all the regions of Runeterra except perhaps Noxus in isolation, but still.

Noxus works best as the antagonist of another story that has some intrigue of its own, not in isolation by itself, is all I meant.

Diana and Leona being ex-lovers would make a good story, but im not into romance in general, but if it drives the story, so be it. I’ve been reading comments and I agree with something. I feel like, in order to not cause confusion, if they are planning on making an alternate reality show (I.e oddisey or Star guardian) it would need to, “shift focus” from the characters of arcane. I don’t want the creators to feel constricted because “people like jinx being a super sad tragic character” and make oddisey or star guardian THAT you know? Which yeah, they kinda are that, but they don’t have that giga trauma, they are more simply energetic rebels

I would love to see a series on Targon centred around Diana and Leona featuring Pantheon and their battles with the Darkin. I think the forbidden love between Leo and Di and the tension of Lunari and Solari could carry a whole show. I could also watch a series on Riven. Her journey as a noxus soldier to the gladiator arenas and her trying to find redemption/peace in Ionia while being hunted. Its like Gladiator and the Last Samurai rolled into one. Love all the top picks! One unique thing that Arcane did was even though we knew the characters and region we did not know the story. It was inspired by canon lore but wasn’t a show about the lore. That gave more freedom and kept a mystery in every episode. It was fresh regardless of if you knew the lore or not. I absolutely would LOVE to see things that we do know i.e Burning Tides, Shurima, The Blessed/Shadow Isles, Bandle City etc. etc. but exploring stories that are familiar but unknown I think was a big part of why Arcane was so wonderful. 🍑

I really enjoyed this video and it's been a topic that's been on my mind since Arcane's story will eventually end. However I feel like these could have been 2 videos: one for canon lore and the other for skin lines. Cause I'd love the Zed comic as an Arcane style show, but I know there are other interesting storylines out there as well. also as fantastic as an Odyssey should would be, I think having 2 shows from Riot where Jinx is a main character but DIFFERENT characters would be confusing for casuals

It's also just a war story, and... frankly not that interesting on its own? Like, all the interesting stuff related to the Ionia invasion happens way after - Riven shattering her blade and going into exile, Yasuo getting framed for a death he didn't cause, Master Yi taking Wukong as an apprentice, most of Shen and Zed's conflict, the rise of the Navorri Brotherhood, the rise of Sett as an underworld boss, the unleashing of Syndra from her centuries of stasis... that's all stuff that happens as a CONSEQUENCE of the war, but not during it.

@@TBSkyen that's exactly why arcane series on the invasion would be awesome Imagine this, we would be exploring ionia before the invasion, during and after the invasion through central figures like yasuo, yone, zed and shen, even from the invading side as well How the war played out, how it changed the characters life would be awesome because we saw the war by ourselves, how life of the characters changed and how it was before, it would make us sympathize with a character that would appear evil in the first place because we saw what he went through, that's why jinx change is iconic That scenario, which is already canon to lol lore, would easily enrich the world way more than psyops for example since it is not canon, the ionia problem ties well with what Mel mother was trying to do in preparation for war in arcane season 1

I'm actually stunned that neither of my top two Arcane style Plotlines even made the honorable mentions: Noxus-Ionian Wars: Playing with the seeds of the terrifying power of Jericho Swain and the Noxian armies alluded to in hushed whispers in Arcane, we can see and explore some of the most popular regions and how the devastations of war rock the lives of many champions. Irelia, Master Yi & Wukong, Riven and her sisters, Yasuo and Yone, Shen Akali and Zed. Maybe even Jhin, as a treat. There is so much beautiful landscape to show ruined by the engines of conquest. Three Sisters: A tale of Sejuani, Ashe, and Lissandra, exploring the growing sisterhood of Ashe and Sejuani and tragic drifting apart due to various tensions. All of which is tied together with undercurrents of Lissandra's "plans within plans" and flashbacks back to when she was sisters with their ancient predecessors in a tale set to tragically repeat itself when the horrors of the void begin to stir from within the ice. God, this game's lore is criminally underexplored.

I genuinely believe the Ionia invasion would be the next arc after Piltover/Zaun is wrapped up. The way I see it is, Noxians look for weapons. For some reason they're unable to get their hands on hextech. So they settle for the next best thing; chemtech. And that's when they hire Singed for the Ionian invasion. I like the idea that the events of Piltover and Zaun has a domino effect on the other regions of Runeterra which eventually incites the creation of other champions around the world

I was so intrigued about the very idea of the freljord and the three sisters that I started writing a fanfiction on it and put it on permapause at about 100,000 words. More than a typical novel. Didn't even make it a third of the way through. There's so much content packed in telling the story of those 3 characters alone. Lissandra has a whole nother life and characters, each have their own little kingdoms, and there's that whole void thing and the noxian invasion that seriously escalated tensions. I was fully expecting a void event to agitate the watchers this year but I guess Rito put the story on pause too. Which makes me sad because I think it's very compelling.

For me the skin line I would want to see get a Arcane treatment is highnoon. I genuinely love Lucian as a charecter and I’m a sucker for both horror and dark gothic retelling of other genre like cowboys. There are a lot of old western and Native American scary stories and legends that can be recontextualized under a gothic lens.

🍑 I personally really like all the stories around noxus, from it's bloody origins with Mordekaiser, to their current post war restructuring, pitting swain and leblanc in this internal war which I find super interesting. Also, their aesthetic just flipping rules, and they're the driving force for the stories of so many champions and basically all of Ionia. Dunno how well that'd translate to an Arcane-like animated series, but personally I'd really like to see the ever looming second Ionia war come to fruition and be thoroughly explored

Finally, someone else preaching for more exploration of North Africa and Persia. There is so much history there that gets overshadowed by Egyptian history. And with Nazuma being pretty much explicitly inspired by Subsaharan that's even more potential. There are so many intersecting cultures and ethnic groups all over Africa and Shurima should lean into that so much more! Did you know that there is an ethnic group called the Amazigh that are spread over North and West Africa? Probably not, because people barely ever explore past surface level when it comes to that continent

The political intrigue and subterfuge in Noxus following Swain, LeBlanc and the Black Rose (and possibly even Mordekaiser's return?) would be really cool to dive into in a show, as well as the political unrest and the civil war of Demacia following Sylas and Lux, or the story of the Solari and Lunari and the relationship between Leona and Diana! Genuinely a bunch of great options for Riot to develop, hopefully someday they actually do!

My first idea for an Arcane level animated series adaptation was the Ruination. But now that they've announced the book I would love to see a Burning Tides series. Bilgewater lore has developed so much since 2015, and things could retroactively be added to make the story even more compelling. Demacia's story would also hook a lot of people. It's basically X Men but in a fantasy setting. You already have a Magneto type character in Sylas, which would make Lux the Charles Xavier. Arcane season 2 isn't even out yet and I'm already so excited for what comes after that. Can't fucking wait

🍑🍑 i Definitely agree about both Star Guardian and Odyssey are well deserving of adaptations. Project is one of my favorite skin lines but without a solid core, I could see that universe needing a lot more work before something really good could come from it. But Star Guardian has such ana amazing story and universe that NOT having an anime adaptation feels like a crime against humanity. and Odyssey is like, perfect. I love that version of jinx because it subverts the crazy jinx I love so much in the main canon and makes her just an explosive loving care-free spirit that just can't help but wanna blow stuff up because it's fun and I vibe with that. Pairing her with Malphite, who in game is basically just a big walking explosion just makes so much sense, especially when adding that plot line of him having such a different personality in contrast to her, while still being best friends. And that's not even going into what they can do with Yasuo, Sona, Kayn, and even Ziggs as like a recurring support character. It has all the perfect groundworks that just needs to be executed.

I don't really know if any of the alternate universe stuff would be great for a full blown arcane level story (although yeah the Odyssey one does seem compelling), but I do think they could get a ton of use out of the alternate universe skinlines by doing an anthology series. That way you could just bounce around as needed to what seems interesting, and really make use of the whole familiar characters in unfamiliar settings that it would create.

I absolutely cannot wait for the raction of the wider audience that isn't familiar with league lore if next arc of Arcane suddenly threw them in Shuriman wars, Targon, Demacia, or stuff like that. Seeing a new environement so disjointed from the image Piltover and Zaun gave them is bound to make some eyebrows raise amongst those who don't know much of the lore.
