Last year (since I live in the country) I kicked my old pumpkins down the hill towards our creek thinking the deer and squirrels would eat them. This year I had all kinds of colors and shapes of pumpkins and gourds growing through the forest😳😂😁

Tomato plant tip: If you are nearing the end of tomato growing and you have a bunch of green or partly ripened tomatoes on your vines, you can pull them out by the roots, knock some dirt off the roots, and hand upside down in a cool, dry place (like a garage) and the fruit will continue to ripen on the vine. You can get several weeks of vine-ripened tomatos storing them this way.

One by one, I'm taking out my annuals that aren't looking their best. We had a couple of nights of frost last week (33 and 34 degrees) here in N MS, Zone 7B/8A, so the coleus were nipped. I pulled a few into my garage so I could let them go to seed and collect seed. No rain here since Helene, but just now saw that we may get a system by next weekend. So not a drop of rain in October this year. At least we're having cool nights but the days are back up in the 80s now. Pumpkins are still looking good. I didn't buy many this year. And it's the first time in 30 years I didn't buy a single garden mum--all of mine overwintered from last year.
@laurelcomeaux4723Ай бұрын
Yes to the tired of watering! It has been an incredibly long season-some of my annuals have been in the ground since the end of March-time to go! We are still a little warm here in Louisiana, but nights are much cooler. So I did put out some greens, broccoli, and lettuces as well as pansies and snap dragons, and watering again. Have not had a rain here since the last of September.

We are too hot too! Phx wondering if it will ever cool down here! I emptied out my garden box last week too.. I over watered so much this summer my black liner collapsed the bottom out in the middle 😣 so after I put some new supports in and a new liner, fresh dirt I’ll be in business again. I’m thinking I will paint it to match the garden like you did. 😁

For the agapanthus tulip swap, you could plant the tulip bulbs in a similar pot and sink them in the empty holes. that would eliminate re-digging the holes.
