Mediation is SUCH an amazing cluster of skillets. I've received a training as a teenager in school and it's done me quite some good in life. Well and also caused me some trouble, cause I was tasked with stuff I'd rather have not mediated 😂 but everyone involved (including myself) was just too aware I was the best option for the task at hand. I'm also frequently earning myself upset from friends by not picking their side by default and always inquiring about possible reasons what the perspective of the other person may have been in acting the way they did. I'm glad to hear these key points. Especially the parts on how appropriate mediation is and if the participants are ready. You cannot enforce peace and real cooperation. You can use still to make things relatable, transparent and stress the different layers of how beneficial something is "beyond the obvious of the box", so to speak. But when we operate based on resentment and lack of social interest, then it's "borrowing time" at a way too high rate, at best.

May I ask very forward question. I’m getting divorced and I’m paralegal running a coffee shop by accident, in any case, I always wanted to become a mediator. Law school isn’t an option for me with 2 teens and low income, so question is, after certification and few months of “free” work will it be worth it as far as income or is the market saturated or lawyers will only hire lawyer mediators? Thank you for your answer.

Can you be impartial if you are benefiting from meditation as the mediator even if only through neurotransmitter rush?
