Another video filled with good advice. One thing though, Conor. You're so often referring to athletes and their goals. It need be remembered that most sports professionals dream of being great when their kids, manage a few years, say 20 to 30...maybe 35 if they'really good...and have another 50 years ahead of them after that. Important years, Conor! Maybe something to bear in mind in future videos. Oh, and I speak from experience, I turned 88 this month.

Good point! There is a whole section of life after the pro athlete has stopped being a pro athlete that still needs to be lived. Freud said that "all neurosis is the result of avoidance of necessary pain" - these disciplines of facing what is necessary and doing it now are not just for pro athletes - but the metaphors stick ;-)

This was not what I was expecting when I read the title of the video. I have always been told that if you improve yourself then your world will change. This approach I think will be very helpful.

This is pure gold. And the reason why I don't have junk and questionable food products laying around in my kitchen, and got rid of my tv over 15 years ago in my early 30s. Also sometimes life can dramatically improve if one situates oneself in a different living environment, whether it's just relocating on a local/country level or even international.

I'm stuck in a toxic research lab. So toxic I sabotaged myself completely- work efficiency, self confidence, morale, mental health and finally physical health. I've now built physical health. Working on the mental health. This is so much tougher as I walk into the same lab every single day. Sometimes I just want to run away and never come back. But there's no choice. I have to and will finish it, and rebuild myself rather than try to change the lab, which is completely out of my control...

Thanks! Practical tip: change from Evernote to Obsidian and link your notes within Obsidian, this way you’ll get even more out from your ”Second Brain”, your personal notes.

I've heard from a few people that there are "better" note taking apps than evernote... I'll do some exploring this summer. I have thousands of pages of notes in evernote and it could be interesting to get some AI help in finding the gold in there!
@gavada85968 ай бұрын
@@ConorNeill Yes, I also migrated from Evernote to Obsidian, also some PKM (Personal Knowledge Management) gurus like Thiago Forte and Nick Milo have done that also. Highly recommended. Obsidian is free for personal use. Also, if you like to draw diagrams, Obsidian integrates with Excalidraw diagramming tool, more details from the @VisualPKM channel in KZbin.

I would appreciate you sharing what you find helpful with your notes app as you research new ways. I’m in the same boat and looking to expand my note taking options….. Maybe a video down the road about your note taking process and how you use your notes for growth and benefit later?

Thank you Conor. Your suggestions gave me the idea to purchase a small alarm clock to place at the door of my bedroom - so when my watch alarm goes off, I know I have 5mins to get out before the very noisy alarm at the door goes off.

haha I often do something similar... when I have a really early flight I will have my iphone alarm, my alexa alarm and another really loud one... each 5 mins after the other ;-)

Excellent ! Could you suggest some ways to impress the higher ups at workplace which can instantly boost our chances of promotion despite of financial situation of company i mean what are traits of highly paid employees in any field of work.. is it unique skills, adaptability, creativity or some other factors.. Does any good books on this topic talks about it in details..

I think the "48 laws of Power" Robert Greene or Tim Ferriss "4 hour work week" are good starts... although both start with "first be really good at getting results that matter in your job"
