Jealous? Of course, we must be dying with envy over your natural wonders while we focus on petty things like, oh I don’t know, actually building a world-class economy, excellent healthcare, and a globally admired education system. But sure, let's get back to the important stuff-like beaches and caves. You’ve got all the rainforest, mountains, and waterfalls in the world, but let’s not talk about how Singaporeans have turned a tiny island into one of the most prosperous nations on the planet while, you know, Malaysia is still struggling with basic infrastructure. But yeah, I’m sure that view of the mountain makes everything better! Enjoy that while we sip on clean, reliable water from our taps.

Oh, better quality of life? Sure, if you’re talking about running around your neighborhood because you have to, thanks to your brilliant public transport system-oh wait, that’s right. Ah, owning a car without an expiry date-truly the pinnacle of life goals! Because nothing says "better quality of life" like being stuck in traffic for hours on end, right? Meanwhile, Singaporeans enjoy one of the world’s best public transport systems, so we don’t have to worry about maintaining those "no-expiry" cars. And as for healing at waterfalls and beaches, we’re happy to take weekend trips to Bali, Thailand, or even Malaysia itself, all while coming home to a safe, efficient, and globally connected city that consistently ranks as one of the best places to live. But hey, enjoy those traffic jams and nature hikes!

@@KeoNz KL public transport is ranked 6th in Asia according to Urban Mobility Readiness Index 2023 and that was 2023 maybe better now. It's still among the best in Asia. People like you used to and appreciate public transport is fine. I do appreciate that too. To many people, the whole package with other things are important too - living standards, housing, car, space and still good income levels are also important - depends on your preference. I'm not judging anyone to choose one city with another, but, just make a fair comparison and respect everyone preferences, views. HK also have great public transport but, ppl are also moving to mainland Chinese cities.
@KeoNz
@KeoNz 3 ай бұрын
@@leealex24 While it’s great that KL's public transport is ranked 6th in Asia, let's not forget the overall picture. Public transport might be one piece of the puzzle, but infrastructure is about more than a train or bus system-it’s also about efficiency, cleanliness, safety, and the reliability of the whole urban setup. You can rank high, but if people still face traffic congestion, inconsistent public services, or limited job opportunities, the ranking becomes less meaningful in daily life. Sure, having a car and space sounds ideal, but in Singapore, the focus is on maximizing a small area with world-class efficiency. You get excellent healthcare, education, public services, and safety, all in a compact environment. It’s not just about preference-it’s about which system provides the most balanced, reliable, and consistent quality of life. And that’s why many Malaysians come to Singapore for work, despite these "space" and "car" advantages in Malaysia. At the end of the day, everyone can have their preferences, but when you stack up the entire "package" of what makes life better-Singapore consistently ranks among the top. So, yes, respect preferences, but let's also respect reality.

@@cutakecare2020 that's your excuse for not having 6 singapores..? Because you'd rather destroy the nature of the malayan peninsula instead of the nature of your islands? There's thousands of pristine islands exactly the same as those in Indonesia. Besides, singapore was able to increase it's landmass by 25% through land reclamation, so Malaysia could try and build 6 islands to make 6 singapores. Using others worse than you as excuses for being lousy is exactly the reason why you are lousy.

Bah.... if Malaysia ever came under threat from anyone other than ourselves, most Singaporeans would probably throw in as much support as they can possible muster, and maybe even join in the defence of Malaysia. Both countries have way too much cross-border familial ties for the people to allow anything to happen to their sister country. When in times of peace, we would most likely squabble over some of the most silly things like the origins of our food, and the intolerable behaviour when visiting each other's countries. Malaysia would be more than happy to point to Singapore and proclaim how much better their country is in every way. Singapore would look at Malaysia and start chirping "Cheap cheap", just to drive home the point of our exchange rate. The list goes on. Truly, Malaysia and Singapore are sibling countries.

By that logic, I guess every U.S.-friendly nation should be as rich as Singapore-oh wait, they aren’t? Odd. And sure, Singapore is small, but if development were as simple as "teching out a small apartment," then why isn’t every small nation a global financial hub? Stress is relative to each person. What one might find stressful may be just a walk in the park for another. IMO only Malaysians find Singapore stressful because Malaysians are weak and can't take stress(even a little)
