i just turned 41 had basil cell spot on my rear shoulder. appeared over night. i thought it was a rash or something from rolling around on sweaty gym mats like ringworm. let it go for 2 years, it didnt itch or hurt. sometimes it did get aggravted and almost bleedy and crusty. finally went in. biosped it and it was basil cell. they scraped and burned it. now it a scar. i went back and they found 2 more precancers on top of my hand they froze. I am a trucker and my hand was always exposed to sun for 20 years. getting old sucks and its scary as shit

Omgs I have a mole in the back of my neck and I’ve accidentally popped it probably 2 times in my life forget its there and thinking it’s a pimple and never have had it check. My mole is still there just a little bumpier. This just made me get worried and want to go check it out.

Does it need to have these stains to determine cancer. Does the cancer happen too without the presence of these marks?

Hi there ! I’m very late but better now than never, if anyone else sees this. I study in radiotherapy for oncology and typically, any type of skin cancer will show on the surface of the skin. It usually begins on the first layer of your skin (the one you see) and then can get deeper afterwards. but it has to start on what we call the superficial layer of the skin (epidermis) A cancer that doesn’t show up on the skin will usually be in an organ or a cavity and wouldn’t be called a skin cancer. From what I’ve known, they don’t appear inside the deeper layers of your skin/flesh, but on the superficial layers. If you have any doubt, it’s better to make an appointment with your General practitioner (family doctor) ! Hope it helped someone ^^

I truly believe mine was caused from tanning bed. Right in the middle of my forehead. Many regrets of that. Never went much. But any is to much. Just had Mohs surgery 3 weeks ago. Wasn't fun😢
