Great video on slot car sales! These cars were a favorite of many kids during the 1960s and 70s. Those kids are now retired or reaching retirement age (myself included), and are returning to the toys that made them happy, many of whom now have some free time and disposable income that they didn't have during childhood. There is a definite resurgence in the hobby, which hopefully will be perpetuated by the elders teaching their children/grandchildren the joys of slot car racing and collecting!

Agreed. All true. Great comment. Thanks for watching. Appreciate you. Subscibe for future slot car videos. I plan to do more. If you have suggestions on what the next one should be, please share.

@@BrianKingsberry I have subscribed and looking forward to more! Maybe a comparison video on sales of 40/50+ year old cars vs newer releases?

@@All-ScaleSlotCars Ya, that might be a tough one to do with eBay's search system. I suppose I could check the sell through rates of vintage slot cars and compare it to a normal slot cars search. We'll see.

Idiotically ridiculous prices for cars with missing bumpers, repainted, etc. No wonder its sometimes referred to as Evilbay.

Ya, got to become an educated buyer as well as an educated seller or there's always that opportunity to get burned. Sometimes unintentionally.

Just stumbled upon this channel. I buy alot of slot cars off eBay and am a serious collector. I am somewhat shocked at your lack of knowledge on the topic.... yeah, the Cox kit is from around 1967 and the example sold was pristine condition.

Glad you found the channel. Ya, I know absolutely noting about Slot Cars honestly. As stated, that's why I do these types of videos. Trying to learn a little more about the niche. It's my first look at the sold listings. Feel free to share anything you think I should know. Always looking to add knowledge. God bless. Thanks for watching. You're the best!

@@BrianKingsberry well I used to collect guitars before everyone knew about them, priot to eBay and the Internet. So here we go again.... garage sales and flea markets plus education kills it for collectors. Have you looked into blue glass?
@BrianKingsberryАй бұрын
@@kevinhuber8723 You know guitars and you know slot cars. Cool. You should put some videos out and teach the rest of us. There's only so much of that good vintage stuff out there these days anyway. The chance of actually finding one that's not in a collector's possession or for sale above retail value is rare. But it's still possible. Naw, I haven't researched blue glass. Is it popular? I know the green glass that glows in the dark was hot for a second, but the glass market changes pretty fast these days. Plus I'm not that crazy about shipping glass. Too much hassle. What do you sell? Do you sell? Or just collect?

no wonder this hobby is pricing itself out of reach for most. just like harley davidson.

Ya, if you want the old cars, it's gonna cost you. Not a hobby for the frugal. You're right. Thanks for watching. Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe.
