Gosh tears are pouring so much right now... if I was asked this question several years ago there was only one song that described me and it was Simple Plan - Welcome to my life (Do you ever feel like breaking down? Do you ever feel out of place? Like somehow you just don't belong, and noone understands you. Do you ever wanna run away, do you lock yourself in your room with the radio on turned up so loud that noone hears you screaming? No you don't know what it's like when nothing feels alright, you don't know what it's like to be like me. To be hurt, to feel lost, to be left out in the dark. To be kicked when you're down, to feel like you've been pushed around. To be on the edge of breaking down and noone's there to save you, no you don't know what it's like... welcome to my life.) But what made me cry is realizing how far I've come... because while that song will always strike a nerve in me I now have a different line in a different song that fits me the most. BTS - Idol. (You can't stop me loving myself!) I basically scream that line in joy whenever I listen to that song now. :) Nothing can break the love I feel for myself and when simple plan fitted the most I never thought I could be the person I've become.

This was such a beautiful video again. Thank you so much for this question, it really made me think. It USED TO BE a mixture of Creep by Radiohead and Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls because, hey I was depressed AF and convinced I was a creep, a weirdo and what the hell was I doing here... mixed with.. I don't want the world to see me because I don't think that they'd understand. But nowadays I resonate myself the most with my all time favourite song, which is INNUENDO by Queen. (And yes. a song that kind of describes me but mostly just resonates with me would be “the light behind your eyes” by my chemical romance, and for a number of reasons. firstly, this band has saved my life more than once, indirectly and directly. this band means so damn much to me and i thank whatever the hell higher power there is that this band came to be and that i found it. each of the four members have inspired me in many ways over the years, and helped me discover my love for music. i look up to them so much and i aspire to have just a shred of the talent, skill, caring, and all the wonderful qualities and values that they have one day. what makes me admire these people even more and this song specifically is that it was written about and for the fans of this band that have died and/or taken their lives. they truly care about their fans. the song is a mourning and a celebration of life, but it’s also a message to the listeners: keep going. it’s worth it. we care about you. i have attempted to take my own life twice in the past, so this really hits close to home for me. it holds so much more meaning when it’s something you’ve had personal experience with. for me, this song helps me keep going. i love it a lot. don’t even get me started on the vocals, the instruments, just everything about this song and this band mean so much to me.

@@CameoFarmer Apparently COVID wasn't enough of a curveball, life had to throw some other stuff at me these past 18 months or so. I'm two weeks removed from surgery #120 in my 26 years of living. But I'm breathing on my own, able to move on my own, still have the fantastic mind that I was given, I've started writing again after such a long time in a bad relationship, things are looking up. When you hit rock bottom, the only place to go is up, and I think I'm very much living proof of that concept. The song I would've chosen for this prompt is Echoes by Pink Floyd. "Strangers passing in the street, by chance, two separate glances meet, and I am you and what I see is me..." The reason I specifically called you "Stranger" is because the concept has always been peculiar to me. We're all made of the same stuff, we all go through trials and triumphs, we all persevere in our own ways, we all have the desire to be loved and understood, so why do we insist on seeing everyone as so different from us? Your initial comment spoke to me, and so, to my mind, we know each other, even if in some minuscule and obscure way. I believe all humans have the capacity to recognize the humanity in others and simply choose to ignore the implications of that fact. I appreciate you responding to my interjection. If I'm honest, I wasn't expecting any sort of response, and certainly not within 12 hours of my comment, given that your comment is 11 months old. But I am thankful there was a response.

I'm so glad you are breathing on your own, and are recovering from surgery alright. I'm sending blessings of healing and peace to you. As for myself, I really understand the feeling of hitting the bottom with nowhere to go but up. I've hit the bottom repeatedly over the past five years and every time I've started rising again I've been shoved back down. I had a family tragedy in 2016, then another in 2020 with a lot of hardship and pain in between. I was nearly suicidal for a while and have been working so hard in therapy to heal myself that I haven't had time for any friendships or relationships...hence, I'm also really lonely. I had Covid last month, the whole blasted month, and lost my best friend of twenty years (the last friend I had) this month.....its been tough. I do have a remarkable mother and sibling you have been incredible. We have all gotten through all of this together. I'm so, so lucky and blessed to have them. I do feel that I've finally come to a place where I'm almost on the other side. I've really learned to love myself...and when I say that I don't mean like just a saying on a Target pillow or coffee mug, I mean really, actually feel love for myself and love who I am. That's been a long journey of its own. I'm moving late this year almost three-thousand miles away from my hometown. A new home and community will give me a new start. But it will also be a huge change. I agree with you about strangers. My personal belief that I remind myself with whenever I feel like I can't make a new friend is that everyone you know was a stranger before you knew them. Literally everyone...accept maybe your mother...was a stranger at one time. We aren't really as separate as we think. I get youtube notifications through my email and this morning I saw that someone had replied to one of my comments. I had forgotten all about that comment and was intrigued by your reply. When I read it, there was something kind about the few words you chose and I thought "Thoraya would respond to this, this is just her kind of thing." So I did. I'm glad I did. I think we make a difference in each other's worlds, even if its really small. Blessings to you, dear stranger. I hope your day is a little better from exchanging an encounter with me.
