It made me wonder what kind of world that side of the planet is like, what the culture is like, what people left behind. In my faith as a Catholic, I think I would love to visit there one day. I heard it is a secular country now, but like Bishop Barron says; there is faith in those that seek the true and beautiful. I believe that goes for Czechia.

Czech/ Bohemian culture was fundamentally different 100 years ago since it was a Catholic culture. It is sad that it is not anymore but there is still hope, I pray for it. But this doesn’t mean that Christianity is completely gone, there are still traces left and all the beauty is indeed Catholic. Just 4 years ago the Marian Column in the main square was re-erected. Concerning culture people do not believe that Santa Claus brings gifts but they say it’s infant Jesus. We also have the Infant Jesus of Prague and the Charles Bridge is the place where Saint John Nepomucene was killed. I am glad that you are interested, Prague is truly beautiful and the people are in need of God. I heard of Jose Rizal but I never knew of Ferdinand Blumentritt, thank you for this information. I hope that you will come one day, the churches although almost empty are beautiful. God bless you.

"Art and the saints are the greatest apologetic for our faith. The arguments contributed by reason are unquestionably important and indispensable, but then there is always dissent somewhere. On the other hand, if we look at the saints, this great luminous trail on which God passed through history, we see that there truly is a force of good which resists the millennia; there truly is the light of light. Likewise, if we contemplate the beauties created by faith, they are simply, I would say, the living proof of faith." --Pope Benedict XVI, Bressanone (Italy), August 6, 2008

Bishop Barron - The Praguers loved Mozart, who premiered in their city his operas Don Giovanni and La Clemenza di Tito, as well as his Prague Symphony. Hope your guides took you to the beautiful Baroque St. Nicholas Church, where they bid Mozart a heartfelt farewell. "The grief exhibited for Mozart in Prague after his death (at age 35) on 5 December 1791 far exceeded that witnessed in any other European city. Whereas Mozart was laid to rest in Vienna without any special performance of music and a pathetic showing of mourners, the first memorial service given in his honor at the St. Nicholas Church (14 December 1791) was attended by thousands and featured his own Requiem mass, performed by over a hundred musicians who accepted no pay for their efforts. Many more commemorations were organized in subsequent years and citizens of Prague took it upon themselves to provide sustenance to Mozart's widow and orphaned children". - Dan B., Oakland Ca

I spent several days in Prague a few years ago, and likewise, what struck me were the quite overt signs of the faith about the city, particularly on the bridge mentioned. But also another thing that struck me was a fear and/or respect for authority that seemed to still linger from the time of Stalin's rule. What also struck me is that when I arrived back at the airport in UK, there was a general chaos and queues. And it occurred to me that the fear or respect for authority has been lost and instead you have this general chaos and disorganisation, everyone doing their own thing.

God Christ comes to heal souls justified in sin, he comes to take them away from the beast of justification, the battle for our soul in the decisional freedom that we hold during this brevity to be alive or dead This universe is so that the human creatures of God the eternal Creator decide in freedom, as God the Creator wants his creatures to decide, God the Creator wants to know His little children, and He knows them in trial. I was always struck by how the demon-possessed man from Gadarene preached in the Decapolis for our Savior, aware of evil and chastened by evil, fighting to free his enslaved brothers; or how Saul died with his sight restored to become our Saint Paul; or how a dissolute publican decides to serve Truth and Justice incarnate God Christ is the Lord of comebacks, since his triumphant Resurrection, and His work is the Happy souls that love, because they recognize and live in the Good, as children of His Most High Father
@MartinMartin-mu2qj8 күн бұрын
The only thing we are is our soul, our own existence created by the Eternal Creator, Father of God Christ, and Father of every creature shown worthy of HIM. When we are called we will go with what we are, and with the only thing we have, our soul, and it will be our soul, its state and aspect, that will say everything about us, it will say everything that we have decided, since we accumulate what we sow souls in rebellion without repentance will be given to rebellion as carrion for rebellion, what those souls decided, since God the Creator respects his creatures, and allows us to live in our decisions, even if they are to be carrion for dead beasts without love, evicted from the Celestial Circles The souls that did not want, but seemed to want, will also be given to their captor, the father of all lies and their cynicism. The souls that were Happy, and sowed their Blessed Happiness among us, will be called before their Father, before their Lord, and before the Spirit they carry, all these brothers are our pride as creatures. The souls of uncertain judgment, we are the ones who must improve, and begin to decide the Good, we are the souls for whom our Savior battles every day, since he told us that he would be with us every day, until the end of our days. Conversion should be our ultimate goal
