Corporate finance in chemical engineering is soo cool! Yess. Oh, i’ll be switching to chemistry for my MSc (the switch would be mostly dependent on courses offered tbh). Great video!
The work load is like the combine of three a levels ? How do you prepare for an chemical engineering exam ? What happens if fail an exam or fail an assignment ? What are Jon prospect? There are any job prospects that involve chemistry and maths?
@TEMSInfluence3 жыл бұрын
Work load feels like quite a bit more than 3 A Levels. You can prepare using my study video tips. If you fail it depends on the uni what happens. Usually you resit and your grade is capped. There are lots of job prospects that involve chem and maths, but don’t do chemeng if this is what you’re after. Just do chemistry

For chemical engineering at Leeds university a lot of people told me the quality of it is bad. But I live in Leeds and I wanna actually go into this university instead of me moving out. What do you think of university education and teaching quality
@TEMSInfluence3 жыл бұрын
You’ve done the right thing to research whether this is true...and I wouldn’t ignore those claims, but I understand that it’s a financial decision for you as well. I think for chem eng the teaching quality could be a lot better, but the university itself is good. For chem eng, which is already a hard subject, I’d prioritise courses with modules you’re interested in and teaching quality. I would definitely look at other institutions that have higher rates of student satisfaction

@@TEMSInfluence when you applying for job does the university you graduate from matters or the grades. What do you think of university of Bradford. And also thank you for replying back I appreciate it 🙏
@TEMSInfluence3 жыл бұрын
It really depends. I think it matters up to a certain point. I think you should aim for a Russell Group. There’s been debate about whether this matters or not, but companies do look at your uni unfortunately. Also, the ‘better’ your uni is, the more industrial links it will have and chances are companies will be approaching them for students. I definitely feel the difference between Leeds and Imperial for this

Hey! It’s difficult to say a single number as not all modules count the same, but I’d say over 50% of my credits were first class grade (4.0 gpa), with some having quite high grade percentages (80%+). My offer was 68.5% average in my final year (lower than 4.0 gpa). I hope I’ve used the gpa terminology correctly!

@TEMSInfluence11 ай бұрын
Hey! I’d say it depends on what you’d like to go into after. I think the range of industries/ business areas you can go into as an engineer are broader, however sciences are definitely in demand in more specific business areas like R&D. If you prefer a more general management or engineering career, I’d say do engineering, but if you want more of a specialist career in chemistry or pilot plant work, I’d be leaning more towards chemistry :)

You might have a course or two which involve labs but that's like a really acute percentage of the overall program. It also depends on which university and how their chemical engineering program has been design. In my country it's 5 year program and 3rd n 4 th year labs are demanding and annoying

Usually the interviewer will be aware of that and usually account for that when selecting students. If you’re very worrried about the content of the interview, maybe email the admissions officer about this as they’re usually quite helpful!

@abugaming72972 жыл бұрын
@@ap._033 I feel like you have to test out for yourself and see. I think it is useful to have a tab or ipad. But really think of how you study (for example the way you study). Taking a lot of notes is very time consuming so I would say minimise note taking.

Hi! I heard chem eng is 90% engineering and 10% chemistry which is the reason why I applies to physical science/ chemistry programs since I love chemistry. But now Im wondering if I should have chosen chem eng. My question is how much chemistry is in chem eng and did I choose the wrong program?
@ramchop-_-732010 ай бұрын
oh yeah im a Canadian student btw
@TEMSInfluence10 ай бұрын
Hey! I don’t think you chose wrong at all. I’d definitely agree that chem eng is 10% chemistry, depending on your mix of classes. I always tell people that we USE our chemistry knowledge, but that’s pretty much it. I don’t think I learned much more chemistry during my degrees compared with when I started. You didn’t choose wrong if you love chemistry 😊. You can also do a MSc in chem eng later if you still want to grasp the basics of chem eng, but not commit years and years to it. Hope that helps!
