Normally I'd say that the Academy wouldn't even consider it, but Jackman's performance is undeniably brilliant and legitimately worthy of a nomination. A win? Who knows. It's way too early to call, but I don't think he'll have a problem getting nominated. I think Logan will get a Best Picture nom too as long as they use all 10 slots. It's a brilliant piece of character-based storytelling. Even though the deck is stacked as of now with a slate of genius filmmakers like Sofia Coppola, Aronofsky, Garth Davis, Chris Nolan, Alexander Payne, Kathryn Bigelow, Aaron Sorkin, Woody Allen, Todd Haynes, Roman Polanski, and more, I think it'll be nominated. Jackman won't win for his performance, but it's not because he isn't awesome. Daniel Day-Lewis performing in the lead role of the best character-centric storyteller not named Scorsese...I would literally bet my house on him winning.

Best stunt sequence: the whole mall chase scene in Jackie Chan's Police Story from 1985. The sheer imagination, creativity, derring-do and physicality of Jackie and his stunt team was crystallized in that mall scene, culminating in Jackie sliding down pole 4 storeys high that was covered in actual live Christmas lights. Heck, that whole movie could've provided a top ten list by itself. Arguably, Jackie Chan at his best.

Hugh Jackman as Logan, Dafne Keen as Laura and Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier deserve an Oscar for their performances, and so does the film. Also, if anyone shouts "R-Rated movies can't win an Oscar", remember, Argo was R-Rated. Moonlight was R-Rated. Slumdog Millionaire was R-Rated. Hell, the first two Godfather movies were R-Rated. Most Oscar-winning movies have been R-Rated or so. Not all of them, but most of them.

as far as stunt sequence, my pick is in between jackie chan's who am i ( the 80 story building's rooftop scene, and the stairway sequance in tony jaa's on bak 1 (the 6 story stairway mortal kombat sequance). the reason being is that they used no safety mesures and they were full contact real action. jackie came out with actual injuries same with tony and yet the sequences were sick.

Mike always brings the crazy and has to be one of my favorite fighters. Alicia deserves a spot due to pure class.

Out of the three stunts I'd probably do the Mission Impossible one because I get the most kick relative to the amount of danger I'm in. House falling can kill me and I'd never know it and I'm not doing something physically exciting like climbing the world's tallest building... I'm just standing to see if I'd live or die - terrifying. The pole cats' stuff in Mad Max is just insanely challenging and daring - thanks but I'm gonna go climb a building with a harness. Obviously all three of these are super impressive and I'd fail at any of them but yeah - gun to my head I'd pick climbing the building.

Whoosh, the oscar-worthy superhero fight is just awful. First off, Fassbender is the obvious win there: his performance in First Class is raw, quiet anger that is certainly helped by the script, but Fassbender completely owns it. It's unfortunate that Daredevil can't be considered for an academy award, but understandable, since Vincent D'Onofrio has so much material to work with, but it's absolutely fantastic. Aside from that, I can't honestly think of any performances that are truly fantastic, other than Molina in Spider-Man 2.

Walker Texas Ranger was ridiculous at best but i grew up loving it and look back on it fondly because Chuck Norrus put a lot of heart into it and each episode wasn't so much about the action which is why the fight scenes were sort and lame but more about morals and compassion. The same could be said about Dr. Quinn where it was less about her medical abilities and more to do with her moral influence on the town. WTR should remain a serious drama though.. as much as i love Will Ferral i cant agree with another t.v. show from my childhood ruined by comedy the way Dukes of Hazard was. I also dont agree that the show is only celebrated by old folks considering that i am only 28 and WTR was one of the most impactfull shows for me growing up.
