Thanks for sharing her selvage quilt. Just so unique. Glad you are going to show us a block, as it is fun to watch.

how's this for a coincidence?! Today while cutting blocks I found a 'double salvage' BOTH salvages had color squares (dots), 18 of them, but only one side had writing. It is A VIP Print, Cranston Print works Co. It is pepper fabric probably from late '90's or early 2000's. I'd never seen that before!

I purchased the pattern today along with 2 of her other scrap quilt patterns. I don't know whether to say Thanks Pat!! or thanks Pat. Actually I'm excited to try all three. There a few more I liked too. I can't wait to watch you making your salvage quilt!!! The strawberry quilt brought back memories of my mother working in the strawberry fields in our town to make extra money. She would load us in the back of the station wagon & we would sleep while she worked in the field. She could pick pretty darn fast!!

That quilt made me excited about selvages. I've seen a lot of CUTE ones, but they were too cutsie. This one really does honour the art of the selvage and allows you some creativity in the process. I can see why you are so excited about getting started. I also see your subscriber numbers are creeping up. Good Job People! There is no place better to hang out with your morning coffee.

@AvivaHadas2 жыл бұрын
With that tonal green print that has buffalo on the selvage, you can take a tip from Debbie and top stitch right at the selvage - since the buffalo is the visual point of that selvage. instead of needing to be super careful with letting some of that 1/4 of green show. So it would be white with printing next to white with printing and no green in the middle - mix it up!
@AvivaHadas2 жыл бұрын
The gray one near that white on black stitching but closer to the gray shows dots next to dots & you don't see any of the colors that should be present based on the pinks in the 12, 13, 14 dots. (12:21 in the video)
@rebeccasewing2 жыл бұрын
That huge house block almost looks like it could be a group of townhouses.The selvage quilt is incredible. When you said you are planning to make one I couldn't imagine what that would look like. I'll be interested to see what you come up with. I have questions. How long was she collecting selvages? How long did it take to construct? If they are all HER selvages that must've taken a loooong time to get that many of them.
@darlenepalmer98372 жыл бұрын
Love love life that zinger Quilt. Since you have so many salvages. You could make your quilt as big as you want. I am excited to see yours. When you start it. I should save salvage edges too. But it would take me years to get enough. Ha ha I do have a ton of fabric.
@dadisanelteacher71212 жыл бұрын
I've never done a sew along before, but I'm wondering if it's too late to try and get on board with the strawberry sew along. You mentioned something about ordering the kits...I wasn't seeing where I would do that on your website. I suppose I'll wait for a future video discussing it! :) I also did FINALLY subscribe to your emails! WOOT WOOT! I was thinking I was already subscribed but I wasn't! That may answer a lot of my questions too! Have an enjoyable Monday!

I thought I had read somewhere that all the blocks in be my neighbor can be interchanged. The reason I'm asking is I have to introduce another roof fabric and I don't want it to be all in one area of the quilt. So basically, can I put block 10 where block one would normally go etc.
@PatSloan2 жыл бұрын
i have not idea. the blocks are different sizes. look and see if some sizes repeat. You have all the patterns
@JulsErazo2 жыл бұрын
So, the base, lets say red, its stitched on the back with the first salvage, but then all the salvages are sewn on the front?
