That was a very good and thorough explanation. Wish would see some actual off-road footage next time.

I know this video is 2years old but thank you for explaining and showing what the swaybar connects are doing and why I should get some swaybar quick disconnects I’m about to take my yellow 2006 TJ X to get a 3 1/4 lift installed and I don’t think I have quick disconnects in my lift

They usually don’t come in kits but the JKS ones are really nice and well built

I was hoping this would be demonstrated off-road. I have a stock height 98’ on 31’s. Would you recommend sway bar disconnects for a stock height Jeep? They are priced much cheaper than a nice 2-3 inch lift. Or would you say a lift will be much better investment?
@SmokinMonkeyOG2 жыл бұрын
Lift would definitely be a better investment but the price of the two is so much apart. I would get both. The Lyft will cost you hundreds if not thousands and the links will be like 100 bucks so if you want to do just the links first to see how much better it will be then you can definitely do that it’s nice and cheap but if you get the lift kit I would get both

@@SmokinMonkeyOG that’s what I was thinking. Thanks!

Always better to do the cheaper mod and see if you need more. Or upgrade once you hit your limit off road and want to do bigger more tough obstacles and trails

You think climbing us a hill sideways and having the bar disconnected would make the truck more likely to roll over?
@SmokinMonkeyOG Жыл бұрын
You know that’s a good question lol I think it would make you lean over more and make it more likely to roll but I haven’t been in this situation because climbing sideways usually doesn’t end well so I try to avoid getting sideways on slopes myself.

Did you only do the front sway bar links? Do you plan to get Jks rear sway bar links?
@SmokinMonkeyOG2 жыл бұрын
Just the front. I don’t plan to do jks in the rear. Possibly Currie anti rock but then I’ll be doing both front and rear. At the moment the rear doesn’t bother me it all works as it should.

Is it recommended to disconnect the sway bar on off camber portions of the trail? Or more so for just obstacles?
@SmokinMonkeyOG2 жыл бұрын
We disconnect ours at the beginning of the trail and don’t connect till we get back on paved roads. Gives you a better ride off road
@chaliHustles2 жыл бұрын
Do you need to disconnect if your doing just dirt trails and would disconnect if you were on a dirt trail?
@SmokinMonkeyOG2 жыл бұрын
No I only disconnect when I want more flex for crawling obstacles. Dirt trails you’ll be fine
@TheRedStateBlue8 ай бұрын
no, you don't NEED sway bar disconnects... but having them makes playing offroad way easier.
