In theory, no symptoms should remain after a TIA. TIA is a sudden onset, transient event. However, we know that once you've had something like this happen, one of the biggest
things I notice when I see patients after a transient event is that there's a great deal of anxiety. A patient will have had a big hit to their system mentally as well as physically and there's often mood changes, some anxiety and stress. We know that it is very normal that mood can be affected after strokes and possibly it's affected after transient events as well. In some patients, particularly some older patients, it can affect their thinking and memory.
Strictly speaking, a TIA shouldn't leave you with any symptoms, but I would say in practice that I've definitely seen patients with more anxiety, more problems in mood, with their thinking and processing and feeling tired afterwards. It's important just to be aware of that and they tend to get better.

I had my TIA 7 years ago and wish i had listenedto tjis back then . I suffered from anxiety for 3 yrs , tiredness and would loose my train of thought mid way through a sentence. I didn’t suffer from mood swings, but everything else yep . Totally agree with all thats been said .

I am 5 months post TIA and having a very bad time of it with all the symptoms mentioned in this video plus some feelings which are so abstract as to defy description. TIA's are absolutely not a trivial event. Best wishes to everyone reading this comment. 🤗

I have tons of symptoms after all, I am frustrated because I think doctor really are not aware of the post stroke or tia post symptoms and they say it doesn't leave you with symptoms. I have had the worst symptoms following my tia. Fatigue, low blood pressure, weakness, headaches, urination urgency, insomnia, lack of taste or appetite, light headedness etc. No doctor even comment on these symptoms. Sad

Been told I've had about 40 tia's. My handwriting has definitely been affected. It's quite shaky, but only part of the time Also my language, having difficulty finding words. I've always had a good and varied vocabulary but not anymore. My husband and daughter fill in the words I'm searching for. I'm on a blood thinner since my large leg clot 2 years ago

I am having one right now. I had my first one in secondary school, my vision is gone even right now, i cant see in many different places, tying is not easy. I had a rectangle in my left eye in secondary school, then 30 min later it was like someone cut of the back of my head and kicked me in my eyes whilst wearing steeled toed boots. 1st migraine. Having an attack now, some parts of my vision are just gone/not filled with anything just gone and its getting worse by the second, this is not goood at all. 3rd attack in 3 weeks, never had this many before. I cant see.

I know when I'm gonna have a tia cos my speech becomes slurred and stammer then everything goes into super slow motion and one side of my face drops It can take me days to recover from one My specialist has told me that with the amount of tias I've had that it's inevitable I'll have a stroke sometime in the future
