I think F1 drivers are hiring those cars for some sort of advertisement, it is impossible for a single driver to own more than 10 cars and the cost of transporting one model to the race venue is quite insane.

they don't belong to them obviously, all rentals or leases from the manufactures as it is with Ferrari (that usually gets Romas and ocasionally Portofinos as well for the drivers and in other cases, Alfa Romeo models as it was in Abu Dhabi - Being Alfa Romeo under the same group as Ferrari), Aston Martin (with a DBX for Lance and another for his dad in this race), Mercedes (that always gives Mercedes models for their drivers), Haas (Ferrari partner, so they usually get Alfa Romeo cars). Sometimes drivers DO bring their own cars as in the case of Bottas at Monza last year with his AMG GT Black Series or Leclerc with his 488 Pista Spider.

why gap to Max in photo: symbolism: "distance yourself from Max" as his 2022 car was "special" and that is how he won; and had Masi hand him the 2021 title. Reference Nascar thru the 60's-70's-80's. After JJ48 won title #7 fans left and demanded more equality to return. Hence 2022 and our 18 different winners Including two from a brand new team, TrackHouse. Nice to see car racing where any driver has a legitimate chance of winning (even if you "ride the wall in 5th gear" [Ross Chastain].)
