OMG!! Talk Talk is one of my favorite bands of all time! Mark Hollis’ voice is so special and amazing. I cried when he passed a few years ago. There are no words! Please consider reacting to “Such A Game”, “DumDum Girl”, “Life Is What You Make It” and of course “It’s My Life” which was covered by No Doubt. No offense to anyone who loved the cover, but the original version, in my opinion is incredible! Whoever requested this song/band thank you so much! And I truly loved your reaction!! The 80’s were amazing and growing up with this band, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Yaz, The Police, and Duran Duran was in itself something I’ll always cherish. One could agree about your Billy Idol comparison but if you choose to react to another Talk Talk song you will see that they are not necessarily the same. We can agree to disagree but sincerely THANK YOU! This made my whole day! Amber and Jay you are the best! Please try to react to the live version of George Michael’s “Killer(Papa Was A Rolling Stone) he combined two songs by two different artists and it worked! Thank you again so very much!

Agree with every word. In the 80s, Talk Talk were so underrated, Mark Hollis was a great vocalist and songwriter, and the musicians of the band were also brilliant. Talk Talk is one of my favorite bands, not only of the 80s, but of ALL TIME. They are so underrated it's almost criminal, and their use of piano made them stand out in the synth-heavy 80s. THANK YOU for finding this hidden gem of a band! Mark David Hollis's voice, in so many of their best songs, drips like honey into your ears. "It's My Life" was their biggest hit in the US, but "Tomorrow Started" is one of the most gut wrenching vocals I've ever heard in my life. "Life's What You Make it" has one of the most awesome piano tracks EVER. RIP Mark Hollis. P.S. My recommendation for your next Billy Idol song is "To Be a Lover"... it's pure, unadulterated badass Billy. Or you could do something from his Christmas album (yes, Billy had a Christmas album!). "O Christmas Tree" is a great one.

Yes, GEN X are children of the hippies and primarily grew up in the 80s, with names like Star, Moon, and Skye - younger Xers finished high school in the 90s. @Kim Hubbard You are correct! Gen X ends around 1980. Maybe some Gen Xers were born to hippie/Boomer parents, but I had parents from the ‘Silent Generation’ (1928-1945) and I was born in 77 🤷🏻♀️ I think it’s more likely that Millenials are the ones born from hippie parents. For the people that made the music of the 80s who were already adults then or just becoming adults, they were more likely to be Boomers themselves or early Gen X, their parents weren’t hippies but most likely Silent Gen as well. I also think Gen X gets forgotten a little like the Silent Gen did (thus their name) 🙂

Talk Talk was a British Rock band with an unconventional arrangement: they had no lead guitarist. Mark Hollis was the lead singer, piano player/organist, and guitarist. Lee Harris played drums. Paul Webb played bass. Talk Talk were together from 1981 to 1991, when the band broke up. This song/music video was their first hit in the US, thanks to regular airplay on MTV. Talk Talk's biggest hit, was their song/music video for the song, "It's My Life", which was later covered by No Doubt in 2004. Mark Hollis died of a brain tumor in 2019, at the age of 64.

Love Talk Talk! I'm going to agree to the rest of the suggestions in the comments for more Talk Talk to listen to! Amber nailed it, we really were all about expressing ourselves in the 80's and we had amazing music from multiple genres. It blows my mind that my kids can't go to school with blue hair, and yet in the 80's it was not uncommon to have at least 1 or 2 classmates with 6 inch mohawks dyed multiple colors, not to mention half of us had safety pin earrings. I loved growing up in 80's, and 80's pop is the only pop that I liked. Of course, the downside to growing up during that time was that we had to deal with the very real threat of a possible nuclear war (we used to have bomb drills) and the AIDS epidemic. Maybe that's part of what made that time so great, we expressed ourselves and lived like it could be our last day, because we always had that underlying threat that it really could be.

Wow I love you guys.. Just started watching your show a few months ago and I love it, especially when you do 80's bands.. You nailed it Rob. I was 18 in 1980. I always describe the 80's with a lot of bright neon colors. We got so tired of hearing about what a cool generation the 60s was and yeah we wanted to make our mark. It was a great time to be alive. I could tell you some stories. Anyways live the show 👍🏼😎 Keep Rockin
