The problem is bound to happen with F2P games, you draw a lot of people, but there's always a significant amount of unwanted toxic people who want to drag you down because they are terrible and have shitty lives. I don't know if I would advice cutting yourself out of it completely, because otherwise you're pretty much playing only solo all the time, but it is a sensible advice to not care too much about it and to do what you want, wether you actually want to play solo, with randoms or with friends

@@bershy8556 they would obviously have to make genshin a pay to play game then. i will admit, it would be nice if you could obtain characters through quests, maybe reaching certain ar milestones, completing quests, getting full exploration in certain places (so like 100% exploration in mondstadt would get you idk jean) and maybe certain event only characters like aloy. maybe even obtain characters by completing certain domains like you did at the start of the game to obtain lisa, amber and kaeya. i know thats probably never going to happen for all characters but it would allow for more team flexibility to those who have been unlucky and only pulled like only 12 barbaras and no one else. they would also have to have other ways of monetising genshin aside from paying to play like more merch, maybe hiring people to play the game on streams and have to give them a large cut of the ad money from those streams. idk im not too into business.

The problem is that some meta slaves will be douchy towards you if you don't play optimally all the time, since they cannot comprehend not playing while minmaxing since it is their definition of fun. And I can get behind both sides, formerly having a meta slave spirit once and having changed with the years to being more casual while still trying to make sense with what I do in game. Usually though, in Genshin specifically, it's bad players who order others to play a certain way or with some characters over others. You can literaly solo everything even with the worst characters in the game if you're good enough, even with bad artifacts and weapons and carry. Doesn't matter if you like to tryhard your life or play DPS Barbara, just let other people play what they want as long as they're not intentionally trying to ruin the fun for everyone.

The game sometimes feel so dry like there's nothing left to do. I'm at the stage right now. Just open the game do some daily, collect some mat and done. I wish they give us something more to play with like arcade mode or something. Yeah sure when there's new update there so many things to do but only for a few weeks and then dry until new patch. How long do you think before you'll get bored of go around defeat the same monster for some chest? Sure new map has new mechanism and interesting but there's only so much to play with and they are not even repeatable. Puzzle? Most are easy to solve, except some crazy one.
