He's actually very right. It's basically 2 requirements to enjoy Genshin. As long as you are in on those, you can play the game for a long time without spending extra money or being angry. 1. Part of the grind is locked behind an energy system, but you will get everything you can out of it through long periods of time, and if you want to spend the whole day playin, just do exploration and story(right now it will last you like 40 hours by itself). Don't ever spend money on energy. 2. Getting Characters and Weapons is rng ,so you will need to learn to accept whats given and mildly tilt it in your favour through odds and restrained spending of currencies.

ngl, i had a crippling addiction to the game. Played it every waking moment for a month and a bit after its release and it took me like 2 weeks of to ween myself off. I highly recommend *not* playing this game if you're going through a rough patch in life and have escapist tendencies (even more so if you spend money on games and have never played gacha games before). The game has so many systems in place to keep you thinking and playing the game, and they become so much worse if you start paying. "You know you enjoy a game when the game takes time away from your life, you know you're addicted to a game when life takes time away from the game"

The first 20 levels or so, are quite fun, The exploration is the strongest point of the whole game for me. The thing is the resin nedeed for the highier levels is INSANE. And At first, it only gave u 120, not 160 like does now, so u can spend the 160 resin daily and very poor amount of progress in the highier levels and becomes really frustrating. Well, my experience worked up to breezing through two regions, getting into the plot of Inazuma, then having main quest locked behind the girl with fireworks (Right after Ayaka date). Then I made a grave mistake of daring to enter the open world of Inazuma to learn the hard way that it's not Inazuma being protected from outside world, it's fox Miko tricking her best friend the harem-liking weeb to use her murderous bats♥♥♥ insane electro shogun puppet to lock down the Inazuma from the rest of the world. By the way, said puppet turned her domain into one part multilayered jail, two parts dead money DLC, one part of Thunderdome, three parts of late Rome bureaucracy asylum ran by militaristic expansionist corrupted government which managed to run their peers into grave dependencies on imports for FOOD because of systematic FAMINE, which is not exactly a good combination with CLOSED BORDER POLICY and MANDATORY OFF-WORLDER 3 MILLION FEE, dodge of which is punishable by DEATH. At this point my cutie ditz MC got so fed up with the bullshit she stuck telling everyone that she QUITS, she is DONE and she DOES NOT CARE.

I finally decided to give the game a shot. I like the waifus, they're pretty rad. Oh yeah, and the game itself is nice, I like going around and doing random shit. I got so distracted on my way to the first town that it took me 4 days to get there. I just kept seeing shit off in the distance and thinking "I bet there's stuff to kill over there, let's go see." Update: Same but the game is mad grindy now since I refuse to pay my way to level 100 characters and weapons. F2P 4 lyfe. Also, the r34 of this game is rivaling Overwatch in terms of quality. Nothing butters my biscuits more than a well drawn picture of Eula/Beidou/Shenhe getting her shit ran through by a horde of Hilichurls.
