"I used to say the sinners prayer every night before bed because I didn't want to die and go to hell." ....I feel that so much. This was me about a year ago. I somehow slipped into calvinism and they had me thinking that I had to ask for forgiveness from God every time I so much as had a bad thought. I would literally say a prayer asking for forgiveness for my sins and if I'd forgotten, I'd make sure I got out of bed and said a prayer for forgiveness because I was afraid if I didn't and if I died in my sleep, I'd go to hell because I didn't ask for forgiveness for that days sins. Those were some of the worst nights and times of my life. Surely, one could tell that that isn't of God. God hasn't given us a spirit of fear or anxiety. God wouldn't want us to constantly be afraid of going to sleep every night. Nor do I believe God is that petty that He would expect us to ask for forgiveness every time we have a random sinful thought pop into our mind that if we didn't ask for forgiveness, He'd instantly put us on the "going to hell list" and then scratch our names off when we asked for forgiveness and put us back on the "going to heaven" list. Could you imagine God doing this for every single person, every single minute of every single day? It would be a non-stop job, and for what? That isn't love. Love is what He did on the cross for us. While we were yet sinners, He died for us that whoever would believe on Him and have faith in what He did, would be saved. He's a God of love and glory and mercy. Not a God of pettiness. Praise Him always His mercy is great and His glory is awesome!

as a born again believer the holy spirit guides me teaches me comforts me convicts me of sin ,when he convicts me of sin at the point i acknowledge his correction i first repent(i change my mind about the sin } i confess(i tell god i agree that it is sin ) i ask for forgiveness because i have sinned against my gracious and loving Abba father . anything done outside the guidance and power of the holy spirit is just filthy rags

If you love me obey my commandments. Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of Jesus Christ. Go to the highways and byways and compel them to come to my house that my house may be full. Unless you cut off the hand that offends you you will be thrown into hell instead of heaven without a hand. If we lived and breathed for Satan and all his work why would we think that God would not want us to represent him and what his son has done in our lives? This new gospel is the doctrine of demons.

@Lionscall911 Your theology is based on misunderstanding the Gospel and will lead you to Hell. His New Covenant Commandments is to Love God and Love others. This isn't for salvation. Salvation is to follow the Will of God - To Believe in the One whom He has sent. Discipleship is not salvation. Baptism does not save you. Have you cut off your head yet? Sin comes from the seat of your emotions because your were born in sin. Your hand does not cause you to sin - your sin is unbelief!! You miss that our "sin" is imparted. Adam sinned. You view your sin as an Action not a Condition. Christ's atonement solved our condition. Christ fixed the source of your problem but you don't believe it because you are still trying to save yourself through your own works.....there is one work - John 6:29 - The work of God is this, to Believe in the One whom He has sent. Put your trust in Him and off yourself....that is what repent means (metanoia).

I’m the one who always says that salvation is free but your sanctification will cost you everything. Jesus just said to follow him we must deny ourselves then pick up our cross then follow him. Sorry that is called effort on our part. Denying ourselves takes sanctification. You can’t take a Christmas analogy and apply to the Bible when Christ promises that if you do not deny yourself then you are denying him. My friend it’s a nice talk but like most preachers they do not know how to balance out the word and always go to the extreme where they eliminate half the Bible to make their points. I pray you understand the balance not the agenda

Believing is not the same thing as obedience. Believing in Jesus Christ as your savior is a one time thing. Obedience is a lifelong commitment when we CHOOSE to walk in the spirit and do his will. But obedience is not the “fruit” of one’s salvation.
