It goes then stops and beeps. Dont know what to do. Cant afford to take it in. Off hand would you happen to know whats wrong?
@lasvegasscooterslifts Жыл бұрын
By what you are explaining in your message it sounds like you might have a bad battery/s. If you are getting a 2 beep code then that is low voltage error from the batteries. Without physically seeing the scooter to rule out a damaged transaxle, controller, wiring and load testing the batteries this would be my best guess. I recommend taking the batteries back to where you bought them to get them to load test them. If you bought the batteries online see if you can find a local store who can load test the batteries for you. If the load test comes back good, then there is something else going on with the scooter.

Sounds like you might have got some rain that might have got to the electronic either in the top console or to the controller. If there is an exposed circuit board in the top console you might have some water corrosion on some of the circuits that might be causing the problem. Same goes for the controller.

The Elite traveler had a broken off connector pin, what else was wrong with it? Wasn't the connector replaceable?
@lasvegasscooterslifts Жыл бұрын
Sadly, the pin that broke was to the motor, if it was the top two pins that could have been replaced as it has a connector to the brake. The motor wires are wired directly to the motor with no other connector.

If it is a transportable scooter with a removable battery pack, then you want to look for a 24 volt 2 amp SLA XLR charger. Yes, we do have them in stock.

My mom scraped the underside of her Go Go Elite Traveler against some stone pavers. Afterwards, the scooter would not move in forward or reverse while pressing the throttle. Upon further inspection, I found a severed wiring harness hanging under the scooter with 4 wires in it. After stripping the scooter down to the frame, the only place that I believe these wires go to is in a connector underneath the controller cover. Do you know where I can get a wiring diagram to verify this? Thanks!
@lasvegasscooterslifts Жыл бұрын
Pride do not provide any wiring diagrams for their scooter. If the connector is a square (about 10mm in size) shaped four wire connector near the underneath center plate that houses the controller that is the controller programming port and is already connected to the controller. I would remove the battery and try and secure the wires (electrical tape)? so they can not touch each other and secure it back in the controller cavity.
@autocompletellc9906 Жыл бұрын
@@lasvegasscooterslifts The connecter is under the controller plate and has about 14 pin holes. Some of the pin holes have no wires in them. From my experience working on cars some connectors have empty pin holes that weren’t designed for wires to go into them. I’m thinking these four wires were pulled out of the connector when she scraped the bottom of the scooter, however I’m not sure which pin holes they go into (if they go into this connector at all). But they must go somewhere. And I haven’t identified anywhere else they might go. That is, there is no where wise in the scooter that seems to have the other end of what eruptions be a severed connection. And I can’t imagine pride just leaving four wires hanging. I believe they must have something to do with the scooter suddenly not being able to move in forward or reverse.
@autocompletellc9906 Жыл бұрын
Correction: no where that seems to have the other end of what seems like a severed connection.
@lasvegasscooterslifts Жыл бұрын
Yes, Pride do leave a four-wire connector hanging out of the bottom of the scooter for the programming of the controller. It's not too common, but it does happen when going over a threshold that's to high, it can rip the programing port connector clean off and leave four wires severed and hanging. Normally this would cause the scooter to short out and blow the fuse under the battery pack. In really worse cases it can short out the controller completely (sound like your problem) and would require a new front to rear harness and controller replacement. shoot me an email I can try and send you a picture of a complete harness and connectors for you to reference.
@autocompletellc9906 Жыл бұрын
@@lasvegasscooterslifts It’s interesting that they leave a harness for programming; I didn’t know that. Also, I checked both the fuse under the battery pack and the fuse under the tiller handle bar and both are intact. In addition, the display illuminates normally, and horn works fine(but of course it’s still can be shorted out somewhere that doesn’t affect illumination and horn). Lastly, I found the controller manufacturer, Dynamic, and they have an installation manual for the controller on their website. I haven’t gotten a chance to take an in-depth look at it, so I will gratefully take you up on your offer to view a complete harness, as that will likely be a quicker solution. Thanks again, will send the email shortly.

Ok, I've got that the beeping problem is because of the damaged connector, but what is the cause of the rolling back while the scooter is in the "Drive" position?
@lasvegasscooterslifts9 ай бұрын
Hi, scooter make and model? how many beeps? A few things can cause the brake not to hold, controller failure, damaged front to rear harness, badly worn brake, out of position or damaged throttle. The error code could give you an indication of where the fault is. My recommendation is taking it to your local repair center they should be able to pinpoint the problem to save you some guess work.

Hi GIl, For Pride products check your user manual under the section troubleshooting. You can also download this at Pridemobility.com. For other brands you would have to Google the manufactures name and model and see if they have a product section with a user manual download for your model of scooter/power chair or support section on their website.

Hi Erin, I'm not sure what you are referring to with regards to your question, but if you are referring to the battery gauge losing lights quickly then probably not. It may be the age of the scooter and the motor and or transaxle may be worn out, without seeing it who knows.

I watch your videos because I used to be a DME technician, working on scooters, power wheelchairs, stairway lifts, etc. I haven't been in the business for 23 years. A lot has changed, but I like to look at what's new. Ironically, now that I'm retired I am in need of some of the equipment I used to sell and service. Have you had any experience with the older Pride Revos? They weren't around yet back when I was in the business. I'm considering buying one that is about 8 years old and appears to have had light use. I like it because it is compact and would fit into my car trunk without completely disassembling it, and yet it has some features of a full size scooter, like 9 in. pneumatic tires and U1 batteries. I have no idea about the reliability rating of the early Revos. Can you give me any advice? (This model has the side latches for separating front and rear section.)
@lasvegasscooterslifts Жыл бұрын
Hey Dean and welcome. Revo V1 and Celebrity X where both great mid-size scooters. They are both very similar in design, I would even say they share the same motor and transaxle. and can take some punishment. I have an older Celebrity X 3 wheel in my rentals and it's the most reliable scooter we have. I also have a spare Celebrity X and even a V1 Revo that still runs perfectly but is just beyond any resale due to shroud damage. The Revo and Revo 2.0 are great for transport as long as you can lift the weight of the scooter and with the U1 detachable 35ah batteries makes so much easier than the Victory 9, 10 and Golden Companion where you only have to bring the battery pack inside the house to charge them and not the whole scooter. As far as I know the side latches are for the battery release which is a great idea to keep your batteries secure when you transport the scooter on a carrier or lift on a vehicle. Wheels and tires are still available through www.monsterscooterparts.com and as far as I was aware they were solid foam filled tires unless someone specified pneumatic tires when they originally ordered the scooter. Due to its age parts are not available so you'd be looking at the used market if anything would need replacing but again monster has a few parts. Good luck with your potential purchase and there is no need to tell you what to look for when purchasing the scooter. Ian

Pride mobility scooters have a error (beep) code as to where the problem lies. Normally there is a pause between the number of beeps that gives you a fault code. The fault codes comprise of one of the following 2,3,5,6,7,8 or 9 count the codes and either refer to the owners manual under trouble shooting or post the beep code here and I can let you know what the error is. Make sure the brake is in the lock position and the charger isn’t plugged in before turning on the key.
