Hypothetical question - National Guard of every branch is supposed to cover their bases while the main branch is deployed - Meaning if the Space Force ever gets a National Guard, then they will be responsible for guarding all the ground bases once the space force gets deployed into... well, space - Does this mean the Army, Air Force and Marine Corpse are de facto the US Space Force National Guard? Similar to how Halo technically as UN Army, but they are merely plantary defense forces, while the UNSC Marine Corps is the one doing most of the warfare.

It's not that the Space Force doesn't do anything, it's that the Air Force was already doing it just fine before Space Command was split into a separate service. Unless the Space Force grows to be *much* larger, I don't think it makes any sense to be a separate service instead of just folding the Navy and Army space assets into the Air Force. (Or fold them into the Navy if we're going to start having military spaceships. Because the Navy is the service that has institutional experience with large crewed vessels.)

At some point it becomes too expensive and difficult to shoot them all down and bam, problem solved.

Is that government waste or is that more "strategic reserve". Are there other things like that where we have things held in reserve for an upcoming, probable conflict. If you live in an area where they're being produced, there's a good chance they're just waiting to be shipped out to recipients. Car factories also have huge lots full of cars seemingly rotting there but, really, they're just awaiting their ship-date. And yeah the DoD is probably producing tons of them, more than they need for current operations, because they want them to largely replace Humvees in frontline transport roles (which means they will need thousands upon thousands of them).

With talks of a space force reserve force possibly in the works, I think it’s important to mention that a space force national guard would be stupid. Only a few states have anything to do with space force and only on a few bases. So a space guard would only apply to a few states, while a reserve would allow people to join from all states and then just travel. It would help with recruitment because if I live in one state why would I join the national guard of another state, while joining the reserve this thought wouldn’t cross my mind. Also it only having a reserve would simplify promotions/slots and funding. I say all this because of course some governs would push for a guard force because it would give them more funding & control/power. Space should only be a federal affair.
