Theres so many references to old animation and clissic cinema I feel like Spark missed here! The weasel gymnast is a direct reference not only to the CHARACTER Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, but also the insane way it was animated!! Her movements all replicate the style and fluidity of the original animation. There's also a point with the horse athlete, a scene where we see him dressed up as death in a chess game with a man. This is a direct reference to The Seventh Seel. There are a lot of ways this movie pay homage to cinema and I love that you made this review! Anthro designs are present in virtually every culture's mythology & have been an integral part of design and characterization. Even Mickey Mouse in anthro design. This recent concept of "furries" referring to a subculture of people who are physically attracted to anthro representations is a tiny fraction of the population that enjoys cute cartoons

It had to have been tough for Gene Wilder, they got married less then 2 years before she got diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and she died a few years after that. Stage 4 cancer back then was a death sentence, often if you didnt catch it at stage 3 you were boned and even that was a slim chance of survival. Ovarian cancer used to be one of those things that by the time you found it, it was already too late.
