Not sure how I feel about OW, the tees and hoodies are massively hyped and seem to be everywhere on IG, but ngl I kinda like the look of striped socks/pants on quite a plain fit. Also as you say he seems to be a decent guy, so gets some points for that. Also congrats on 30k! Well deserved

Subtle Provisions So if everyone wears supreme you won't? If people wear bape you won't? This is a pretty dumb argument seeing that this can be applied to everything. Even though I understand it just isn't very specific. 'Air max is gross because a lot of people wear it', 'NMDs are bad because a lot of people wear it but ultra boosts are cool'.

I don't see it as anything special. It's still just mostly screen printing a design on a average quality shirt like how Virgil did with Pyrex but more well known. I still say it's way overpriced for what it is

I never had an off white shirt and never really got to see one. How’s the quality on them? Would you say it’s way better than supreme in terms of their cotton quality?
@TheManOnTheMoon88
@TheManOnTheMoon88 7 жыл бұрын
Deadman Arcade Im sorry but I dont know the quality of supreme because I dont own any pieces. All I can say is, that my off-white tee gets bigger after each washing. The tee doesnt hold its form and gets even more oversized.
@YourSideHoe
@YourSideHoe 7 жыл бұрын
Deadman Arcade supreme tee just like any other brand regular cotton tee. Off white (particularly until SS16) is a bit irregular with different threading and stretches a bit, also it’s really soft & supple. So yeah u can tell it’s a better quality than supreme/any regular tees when u touch it. Then the FW16 somewhat disappoints me, cos it feels like slight up to par with supreme/any regular tees, with off-white price tag :/

Off White was/is cool but was made super corny by hypebeast, the women actually get way better pieces than the men which is kind of frustrating because you can see that Virgil has the creativity to be a more high fashion brand but keeps making items for his target audience (for the men). The scorpion embroidery with the little feathers is so dope but he needs to get rid of the lines and the "WHITE" on the back of the items. The Nike collab is just amazing, theres a shoe for everyone. No complaints on that collab.
@kerrylin2780

I think the pieces that have just the “white” on the back is dope and the lines I think definitely can be toned down ALOT. Overall I like everything coming from the brand besides those corny Caravaggio (line) designs

virgil doesn't make all the designs for women clothing you see, there are multiple people who work with/under him that provide designs and ideas that he then uses if he likes. I think the men's line is literally the best representation of his true style because he probably designs most of those.

Really dope overview of Off-White, Reggie. Personally I like the brand for what it is, which is a deconstructed perspective on fashion from someone who has no background to be working in fashion but that's another reason it works! He takes what he does know and applies it to something he doesn't, fashion! I would probably never wear the stuff but as an amateur designer myself I respect the mans hustle.

To me OW kinda sometimes looks like Philip Plein. Both have massively branded pieces and use the same designes over and over again. Abloh, like most designers that strive to mix an "underground" or niche interest with a "high class" style fails. Take Danish/Midmod furniture design and interiors for example. They used new and interesting materials, construction methods and design theories, marketed them to the "average person" then turn around and mark a chair up to $1,000. Sure, there were a couple successes but in most cases, it fails when push comes to shove.You think anyone at your local park gives a shit/can afford OW? No, they don't so in that case I think Virgil became what he and every other skater(or any other person who participates in a niche interest) hates. Posers
