Olivia, I do not celebrate Christmas. 19 years ago Katrina swept me from life as I knew it. My dwelling and workplace. Same with my boss and his wife and their businesses. As time drew close to Christmas I was hearing others affected panicking "What are we going to do for Christmas?!!" Lost everything and wanting to give to others when it was not within their means. That was a wakeup call. Funny how the media is now talking about Christmas as if it were the star of the disaster. The real disaster is unpreparedness and the brainwashing that has been fostered on us by commercialism. Where is the media saying hey everyone, don't worry about Christmas. It's no big deal. Nope. They're even hocking merchandise on every legacy news channel. We teach children to expect it. Even demand it. Every family member, every co-worker, every friend sees a gift as a mark of their worth. I promise anyone who is ready to give up the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future, your joy will continue year-round. Wishing all a Merry Life and Strength and Perseverance.
