I believe it’s if you’re under, not over the age of 16 that you’ll need to renew your passport in 5 years.

Ugh, you're right! If you're over 16, your passport is good for 10 years! Thanks for catching that, not sure how I messed up there

18 weeks seems *CRAZY* . I can't believe that "expediting" still takes months. Thats crazy!

My Australian passport (renewal) took 2 weeks to arrive. My son changed from child to adult and waited 6 weeks. Here, child's passport lasts 5 years. Adult, aged 18-69, lasts 10 years. 70 years and older lasts 5 years. Adult Australian passport for ten years costs AUD$350 which is roughly USD$220

I applied for renewal on June 17th and it still says "In process", it hasn't even been approved yet 😞
